Really appreciate the blend. It’s only a matter of time, cross training and blending styles. But still giving props to its source. Looking forward to the next video with Master Bautista.
Thank you, we agree with Master Joseph and Legacy. Learn a base but also keep an open mind and learn from others. Stay tuned for his other technique videos.
There’s so much detail in this video ! My guro was a direct student of Angel Cabales and he taught me most of the basics and I love the blend that you incorporated here. I live in the East Bay and would love to visit your Daly City school one day with my 5 year old daughter.
I am a Serrada instructor and really like your discussion regarding the fulcrum. I always practice using the fulcrum technique myself and really like the concept and the speed in which I can deliver a counter-attack following a defensive action such as a cross-block or sweep. It can be a very quick end to an encounter and they will never see that coming.
Depending who you speak to, we had a discussion about this recently. Some say it means to "close openings" or "closing in" or "closing the opponent's offense"
@@FMAPulse I'm hip! My sister lives in Daily City. I'm in San Diego trying to move out the past decade. I will surely visit the school. And perhaps pick up Serrada where I left off in Stockton back in the 80's.

I'm very glad you push Unity in the Arts as it's very needed...
@@dianewilson4979 If we all do a little it can really make a huge difference.
Truly appreciate the blending here. Helps make a person versatile.
Especially in the Bay area the Mecca of FMA in the states. So many approaches and styles, they're bound to meet and fuse somehow.
I agree. I just subscribed.
Thanks for the share! I’m seeing a lot of potential for the pommel being thrown in there. I think I’ll try it out!
Definitely! In FMA we call it the punyo or butt end of the weapon. Have fun!

Getting yours ready for an October release compadre.
Maraming Salamat! Means a lot coming from you. Pugay :)
This is a very informative video. It's all concepts my teachers use as well but seeing it from this perspective is amazing for me
Glad it was helpful! Many of the FMA teacher's we've met on our journeys has similar concepts as well.
Great video! Informative.
Glad it was helpful!
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers! We'll forward the message to Master Joseph at Legacy.
Very Clean.
Thank you for the kind words :)
This is so awesome. It’s what I hope the future of what FMA can build towards
Was thinking the same thing!
Agreed, as long as Legacy and like minded groups/instructors are working together, anything is possible.

Serrada would be considered a close in fighting?
Yes Serrada Escrima generally tends to try and close the gap and stay in close range.

I like the style! And the way he teaches it.
It's all in the explanations, and how they relay that message to others. He also can connect with people from different ages and backgrounds.

Always anticipate that the opponent will not just pause extending his arm with his stick.
Yes that is true. It was stated in the video that this particular technique is based on the ability to grab.
