  • Here are some basic tips on how to twirl an arnis/escrima/kali stick. There are many variations of this and different group would have different definitions for the word 'Twirl'.

    Can't you use twirling techniques for multiple strikes upon an opponents arm effecting weapon disarms?

      In some schools we call it breaking in the wrists. It helps with flexibility and strength. It can be applied in curving strikes which are difficult to block.

      Along with knuckle pushups you need to look up videos on wrist exercises for wrist injuries.

    Is twirling like a krav maga thing where it looks great but will get you killed in an actual fight? I guess it's an ok tutorial, but he never covers the point of twirling. Why do it? He's releasing his grip while twirling which seems like a great time for the opponent to disarm him. I think brutal quick strikes and retractions are going to be much smarter and more effective. Even if you hit somebody with a twirl, it's not going to be as effective as a full on strike with a full grip.

    If yoi trained in arnis you csn basically used all other weapons like swords nanchuck three way sticks knifes
