'One' was around when the Berlin wall came down in Germany and the Country Reunified. When the BeeGees toured Germany they found their song was most beloved for its words and much in demand. The said they were proud to be associated with a country becoming one again.
Robin was never the same after Mo died. In an interview the day after Mo died he looked like he was half gone himself. He said he could never accept he was gone, he had to be somewhere. When he was dying himself he said many times he wished Mo was with him.
I love your energy and how you are falling in love with their music. The only one left is Barry which still makes me sad but he is trying to perform and do new things with his kids and family who have been blessed with musical talent. Beautiful, gorgeous family!

Robin was the last to pass away in 2012 (you were correct in pointing him out with that sassy beret that looked so great on him) after his long and courageous battle with cancer. Maurice unexpectedly passed away in 2003 and left both of his brothers as well as all their families brokenhearted, especially his twin Robin. Rob was never the same after losing his best friend. Younger brother Andy passed away only 5 days after his 30th birthday in 1988 leaving his brothers and the family in total shock and so very sad. The Bee Gees story is quite fascinating but tragic in so many ways. I'm glad to see you delving into the music of such a fabulous group and, in my opinion, the best group ever!

You need to watch the video of Robin's funeral which will bring tears to your eyes. They even had Robin''s 2 Irish Wolfhounds walking behind his horse-drawn funeral cortege thru the village where he lived.

You should really listen to “I Just Want to Be Your Everything” by baby brother Andy Gibb. You won’t be disappointed and it’s a great song to start you on his catalog. Unfortunately he had a severe drug problem which kept him out the music game for a long time, then tragically he died at 30.
@@gaylaliles4095 Yeah, it just feels like their early work gets more attention than their later work, I think partly because it fit well in the music scene at the time. Early Bee Gees sounded much like the Beatles whereas once Fever happened, they were THAT group, no matter what they put out from the 80's onwards. That's why it's more refreshing for me to a 'One' reaction as opposed to a To Love Somebody reaction.

Andy died in 1988, 5 days after his 30th birthday, Maurice died in 2003. His death brought an end to the Bee Gees. Robin died in 2012 after a battle with cancer. I remember another reactor who will remain nameless, who was upset over the lyrics that said, "you'll be my only possession". Was she a hardcore feminist?? Not sure, I didn't ask her but I HAD to point out to her that those lyrics were immediately followed with, "I'll be a slave to you." She had no comeback, and deleted my comment. I guess she prefers to talk with herself, lol!

Robin and Maurice are both gone, they were the twins, I think Maurice's death is what killed Robin, the bond between twins is incredibly strong.
