Hi Kevin ..l can't tell you enough what a wonderful artist you have become. Your paintings are fantastic and so detailed. l hope you continue to post more paintings for us. l watch everyone in awe, and wait for the next ones to come along. You make my day. Thanks
Thank you Kevin you teach me a lot.. and your paintings are no words to express.. i have learn a lot from you i am also a painter but not awsome like you.. but watching your videos make me more confident on myself. Now i can also play with colour thanks for your lovely tips Hats off
Je suis depuis un bout de temps votre travail que j'ADORE et vraiment je trouve que votre technique gagne en finesse .Vous êtes un grand artiste malgré votre jeune âge. Bravo et continuez à nous enchanter.
This is amazing... I dont have favourites of your paintings Kevin as they are all wonderful, however I like this one a little more than the rest....I will try and attempt at this one....thank you so much for all your wonderful insights into how to make painting look easier... I just wish that you were here in Australia ... again Thanks !!!!
This painting is just Beautiful. Great Painting **Kevin** Love it. I may not always leave a comment, but very doubtful if I have missed 1 or 2 of your great works. Thank You for sharing your Artist Talent.
I've watched, probably most of your videos and truth be told, was at one point starting to think they were great but a little bit 'samey'. A good few of your more recent one's have started to really stand - this is one of my favourites. You have a great eye for painting mountains, your clouds here look great, I myself love the color and composition. If you feel as though you're developing as an artist I for one will concur!!! The only thing I might have liked to see added was a few rocks in the stream but it rates with me as a minor detail. 5*
WOW that's just B.U.TI.FUL Kevin!! I can draw landscapes in black n white all day long but when it comes to putting color into it... I'm stumped!! I never did get to study the color wheel and how to mix colors... that's my down fall. I STILL have problems trying to find the right grass color or face shade... oh it gets very frustrating for me!! 🤔
its just beautiful. for the first time i was thinking that u gonna draw the forest where gnors r leaving. but after i see u draw just the real natura. it s very beautiful. i think u just mixing the color really good or not?
I've been putting a lot of thought into painting. I think I'm going to start with images from dreams I've had in the past. An advantage to that would be that it wouldn't have to be accurate or realistic and it would give me somewhere to start. That way as I progress, I would've already learned techniques. I think I'll build an easel rather than buying one.
Hi Philip, I bought Kevin's oil paint set, available on his website. In the package he has the medium he uses to coat the canvas only in the areas of the sky, and water. It's a great medium, it doesn't compromise the colors, has a smooth feel. You can use the liquid white if that's what you have. The liquid white, and his medium, are used for a beautiful blend, as in the sky. I believe he changed from using a medium all over the canvas is that in the areas where he doesn't use it, it allows for applying the color on the canvas and you don't loose the true value of the color. Hope this helps.
you are so good Kevin. I really try to do as good as you but I can't do it, but after a few days when I forget how good you are I see mine and I like it LOL Nikki D
I went to art school for years, one of my teachers was taught from the great illustrators in New York. He called your kind painting "Sign Painting" I disagree. My art is very photo realistic but more like a copyist. Wet on wet is much more expressive and I think fun which is what art should be. One day I might try this, looks like a lot of fun. I like your wet on wet paintings better than the other artists doing the same thing on youtube.
Wonderful painting Kevin, I am curious, on these newer style paintings where you don't use the knife for the mountains, are you still using the liquid white as a base? Thanks so much!
mamieleger From my understanding of wet on wet painting liquid white should always be applied to the canvas first. That is how Kevin always been doing it, Bill Alexander and Bob Ross also did it. I can see what you mean now because I see Kevin is changing his style of painting.
Hello Kevin, I want to ask you important questions: 1. What are the differences between (nude) and (neutral) colors? 2. Do all earth tones considered (neutral colors)? Thank you SO much :)
Hi Samayah, regarding your question 1) Nude colors are a flesh tone color for makeup. A neutral color, regarding painting, neutrals are black, white, gray, brown, beige..the last two are called "earth tones." There are a few ways to make neutral colors, you can mix black and white to make a gray of course, you can create browns by mixing two compliment colors together, or by mixing all three primaries. Also, a 50/50 mix of Alizarin..and sap green, makes a lovely brown, and you can take it to the red side or green side as well. Hope this helps.
Sumayah Ghamdi your welcome, just be careful with the blues, reds, and yellows, they actually have another color in it. Some yellows are more orange than others, they have more red in them. Some blues have yellow and red in them. And so on. There's no perfect blue, or red, because every color you see leans one way or the other around the color wheel. Not getting the correct primaries will cause problems, make mud, or if your making a green may become a brown etc. Have a look at Kevin's oil set, he uses a limited palette and the correct colors to mix in order to achieve a violet, or green and so on. He has his set on his website. Have fun.
Abby M Thank you Abby, In makeup we use Color Correcting, but What is the opposite color to neutralize brown - like dark circles and pigmentations - because I noticed that there is Yellow-Orange and Red-Orange, so which color with its undertone suites to cover brown color?
Amazing! You never fail to impress Kevin, I hope to see more of these fall paintings in the future!

It's not bad to have 2 dreams.
Wow, just wow!
Speechless, all i can say
Hello Kevin,
Love your work. do you use a liquid white thinned down white on your canvas before you start your painting? Thanks, God bless, Phillip
Hi Philip, I bought Kevin's oil paint set, available on his website. In the package he has the medium he uses to coat the canvas only in the areas of the sky, and water. You are a master class
you are so good Kevin. I really try to do as good as you but I can't do it, but after a few days when I forget how good you are I see mine and I like it LOL Nikki D

Is there ANY chance this is part of a longer video, where we can learn more? I'm happy to pay if needed.
Hi Kevin, have you considered doing this painting for a digital download?
Lindo! Muito inspirador.

Wonderful painting Kevin, I am curious, on these newer style paintings where you don't use the knife for the mountains, are you still using the liquid white as a base? Thanks so much!
I think he always uses liquid white.
It just seems like the canvas is very dry
mamieleger From my understanding of wet on wet painting liquid white should always be applied to the canvas first. That is how Kevin always been doing it, Bill Alexander and Bob Ross also did it. I can see what you mean now because I see Kevin is changing his style of painting.
Yes, in his older paintings it was always wet on wet, but these newer styles seem dryer when he begins, especially in the mountain areas.
Yeah, I like his newer style better! There is a lot more detail in his paintings.
Very nice

Abby M and yes, earth tones are neutrals.
