I knew when i first stumbled upon this Amazing HK film studio that it was going to be Something Special! My loved for these films has grown since I have gotten older. Long Live Shaw Brothers 👊🥋🐲👍🐉☯️‼️‼️
Epic collection -- I watched all the way from beginning to end :) some of those old VHS and DVDs bring back memories --- and I agree with you that the latest 88 Films SB releases have been lacking bonus content.
David here, spoke on eBay about some videos. Love this channel! Awesome work! Proper takes me back to find in the Kung Fu section in HMV, Tower Records etc before ending up being fed a total Shaw Brothers habit. I lived near where Eastern Heroes had their office, a mate of mine walked in once to see if he could get some freebies 😂 Those VHS Warner brothers ex rentals are mint. I fell in love with the Venoms and then got taken progressively further into the whole Fu Sheng, David Chang, Ti Lung. The hole Shaolin Temple, Five Masters, Men from the Monastery, Heroes Two.
Hey David, thanks for checking out the channel :) Appreciate it! Glad you enjoyed this. I always wished I had went to London sooner in my younger days to experience the EH shop. Was very jealous! I do my Warner SB videos and would they the most of them were a big introduction for me. Thanks for watching :)
Amazing SB collection. Very jealous of the Shout Factory box sets I don’t have yet (I only have Vol 1 and the Ti Lung/David Chiang set). I do have all the 88 Shaws except for the most recent few when they restarted the line. I did manage to best you on The Super Inframan - I snagged the initial limited edition with the slipcover and booklet, super glad to have that as it’s probably my fave SB film, absolutely brilliant, fell in love with it since I first saw it on crappy VHS back in ‘90 when I was a young lad of 22. And those three lovely Shawscope sets from Arrow, yep, got all those, just wonderful. What makes those sets a cut above those from Shout Factory and 88 is that Arrow remasters most of the films themselves, instead of simply spitting out the digitally overscrubbed masters given to them by Celestial, which also usually suffer from framecuts, a reprehensible Celestial “restoration” practice where instead of restoring a damaged or spliced frame they simply cut it out. Yep, they actually do that. So, Arrow’s remasters are much preferable. Compare 88’s release of 8 Diagram Pole Fighter to Arrow’s; the Arrow release blows 88’s away, looks much more filmlike and doesn’t suffer from framecuts, and it also has the proper early ‘80s SB logo opening instead of the usual ‘70s one that Celestial slaps on no matter the time period. At any rate though, we are so bloody spoiled these days, and my poor wallet just can’t keep up. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching! Appreciate it :) Yeah, it is great to see so many of them getting put out there considering how enjoyable they still were on VHS. Now we are definitely spoiled, and yes, like yourself I am broke trying to keep up lol I will keep an eye on those comparisons though, thanks!
Hey man huge collection, do you have House of traps on VHS? I was skim watching so might have missed it. It's dead rare and is supposed to contain a longer cut of the film. I am curious to know how long the movie runs for or if the whole thing is an urban myth.
@@invincibleasiaofficial I have looked everywhere for a copy of it or at least someone who has a copy. Just because I want to know if it's true or not about the cut or lost footage. It's a bit like Zatoichi vs the one armed swordsman and myth about 2 different endings, there is no proof about the Chinese one where Wang Yu wins. I personally think it is a myth because it just wouldn't fit.
Love Shaw Brothers movies collection, can't wait for Shaw brothers volume 3 boxset releasing November 2024 from Arrow Video release, I do own volume 1 and 2 already waiting for volume 3 now.
Just found about these box sets i was hoping to get full moon scimitar i remember that one being a pretty good one.and there was one about a women that goes to thailand to train so she cand fight the japanese. I dont see that either although i cant think of the title.
Turns out i was getting a few movies confused since they have similar casts. I did find the movie it is called lady kung fu but seems to have changed names to hapkido.. Not a shaw brothers but good news is there is a bluray for it. Full moon scimitar is shaw brother but no release yet :)

I new into Shaw Brothers martial art films, so I wonder which film labor has the best content, 88 films or Shout Factory?
Hey, thanks for watching! They're pretty much offering the same to be honest although 88 Films releases of late are lacking any special features...
