I'd even put the Casio DW-5000C in 2nd place and in 3rd maybe the Royal Oak although not into integrated bracelet or Gerald Genta designs at all, but I do respect it.
Very obscure choice here, but the Jaeger leCoultre Master Compressor Dualmatic. It's in my opinion the greatest combination of a dress watch, a dive watch and a true GMT all in one.
Love omega, own a Seamaster from the 60s, and have always wanted a speedy, was worried with all of the buzz about them more recently that I’d find it a little boring, but trying one, beautiful watch. Very overplayed at this point but doesn’t change how great it is!
I felt the same about the Speedy, I was effectively talking myself out of it due to it being so universally loved, tried one on and understood why. Is it sort of boring due to being so well known and loved? Yes, absolutely, but.... I love it too :D
Casio G shock has got be up there for sure. Absolute icon everyone has heard of the G-Shock, extremely affordable, and very high quality, especially around the $100 mark and up. By the trifecta, I believe it would win. But the only thing a watch like this is missing is a very high "want" factor for lack of a better word.
Rothschild once said the best wine he had was a cheap wine he bought as a teenager, to drink with his sweetheart, on a hill, looking at the sunset. So if we’ll borrow this allegory, the best watch is the one you can have and enjoy with the people you love. I was wearing a black and fluorescent green AdiZero when I met my love, what a glorious watch.
When I want to treat myself. I usually go to Seiko. I can’t afford anything much more expensive. And the total is getting close to 20 as it is. I also have had no real complaints with the Casio for a nice watch to wear at work. Or just around the house. One thing that I really look for is a Day/Date. I bought a Traser many years ago and it was great very accurate for me. Only drawback was I thought the face was a little too small for my use. I wish that I would have gotten it when my eyes were better. I can tell you without a doubt that the worst was a wind up with no second hand for my first watch. I was constantly over winding the poor thing. Just to make sure it was wound. Never buy that style for a kid.
As much as watch enthusiasts are tired of hearing about the "First watch on the moon" - I think you'd be surprised at how many people in the general public have never heard the story, have never heard the name "Speedmaster" and may never have even heard of Omega before. So all the advertising they're doing is mostly aimed at those people.
The F91w is an icon, but I am with Russel, the madman is right about G Shock, the 5000 series and the new 5600 Solar started something amazing, a watch, that no matter what you did to it, it always worked and was always accurate, and with the GA 2100 and GA-B2100, you have a Royal Oak that anyone can afford, and it will always work, MWC is dead on.
I love that digital clock in the background with little snippets of old video games. I identified a few favourites: Earthworm Jim Golden Axe The pink pillow thing from Nintendo Obviously Mario R type A few fighters I couldn’t recognise

F 91W is the GOAT. I have a good collection of watches but when I'm at work it's the F91W. It's just simply more functional than a speedy or a diver. Also it's water resistant enough to have never leaked when I dunk it in solvents to clean it off and I've definitely tampered with it trying to do mods back in the day. It just won't break... The battery won't even die. I think it's powered by black magic inside that resin case.
I can't believe you did not mention the real designer of the Royal Oak being Gerald Genta. He did more to salvage the mechanical watches from the ravages of the quartz craze than most. However, Genta was not a fan of the modifications that came later to his Royal Oak design.
Brilliant guys! I think you’ve just proven that all we need is an indestructible plastic pocket watch with a waffle dial and every complication on the earth made i partnership by Seiko, Casio, Audemars Piguet and Rolex. Simple.
Ceramic Submariner of any flavour is by far the best all around proposition. Spend the cash, you won't be disappointed. You can wear anywhere doing anything and you're a boss, too. After that I'd say Blancpain Bathyscaphe pre-owned and more haute, and then the Breitling Superocean Heritage II ceramic on mesh bracelet and with the full rubber deployant as an extra. I have a Speedy Pro Moon as well, but you can't wear every day or in water without feeling uncomfortable. The Breitling is affordable and I have it, but it is my most used and looks fantastic in my $125k 15 premium collection, including the Sub and six other Rolex. I'm buying the Blancpain, next. Royal Oak is my favorite watch, but definitely not best, because it's fussy for maintenance, not great for sporting activities and dear -- wish I had purchased a couple years ago when they were attainable. The Blancpain also has best movement finish out of my recommendations. I could get behind a Daytona too, if it was obtainable 😂
If Seiko would have just put a screw down crown on the SRPD series, I would have been satisfied. But thankfully we have people like Mark from Long Island Watch who does the SKX style cases the right way.
Speedmaster is merely popular for marketing reasons since going to the moon is skipping a few steps. Like being the first watch in space; which would be far more significant... and that would be the Sturmanski that Gagarin wore and was based on a French LIP26. Just like the Speedmaster, you can still get homages and re-issues. In the 1940s graduating Russian pilots were gifted these watches at the Moscow flight School
From a functionality, innovation and functional design perspective, and for a product which has had and does still has huge impact both on the watch industry and culture it would have to be something Casio.
Wonderful video guys, thanks :) I love it how you tamed MWC :D As much as I visually dont like the SKX, I think it most probably is the greatest watch ever. I would add a Casio F91W. Other luxury pieces dont come close to applying.
I don't know if it's just where I live, but I barely ever see Omega's on wrists... I see more Royal Oaks and Nautilus than Speedmasters... And more Rolexes than anything... Almost more Rolexes than non-Rolexes...

Nice collab. Totally agree about Omega overcooking the "first watch on the moon" angle. It's a nice watch otherwise.
If Seiko would have just put a screw down crown on the SRPD series, I would have been satisfied. But thankfully we have people like Mark from Long Island Watch who does the SKX style cases the right way.
The mad watch collector sounds better here than on his own channel, but the filters used make Andrew look 12 years old and make Tom look like an egg.
Rolex Explorer. Best watch ever. Versatile, classy, timeless, balanced, robust, and elegant all in one package.
From a functionality, innovation and functional design perspective, and for a product which has had and does still has huge impact both on the watch industry and culture it would have to be something Casio.
Love how the casio is set at 10'08
No mention of Grand Seiko and their best in class build/polish and quality control?
Didn’t even mention the Greubel Forsey Handmade 1 or Roger Smith 😐
SBGA211?
Best of British humor here, for certain. You guys cover the spectrum from sardonic Bond to cray-cray Python.
Wonderful video guys, thanks :) I love it how you tamed MWC :D As much as I visually dont like the SKX, I think it most probably is the greatest watch ever. I would add a Casio F91W. Other luxury pieces dont come close to applying.
13:15 because some Chinese folks made aftermarket parts for 2100 G-Shocks, and they sold a fuck-ton of them.
I don't know if it's just where I live, but I barely ever see Omega's on wrists... I see more Royal Oaks and Nautilus than Speedmasters... And more Rolexes than anything... Almost more Rolexes than non-Rolexes...
Omega Seamaster Aquaterra Coaxial Chronometer. Nothing else comes close to function, style, durability, elegance, and simplicity.
38 or 41mm?
@@arancourt5623 41mm
Kind of a weird pick: for me the best watch ever made is the dive master chronograph from victornox.
It's just spot on in terms of functionality.
It’s not a Watchfinder sandwich if it’s made up of two slices of Watchfinder and a filling of ‘mad watch collectors’. 😂
I love this collab!
Well done guys. Thanks
Blancpain in my humble opinion, first diver ever....
