- Did you know your Mercedes-Benz is equipped with a tunnel function?
When you enter a tunnel, and the windows and sunroof of your Mercedes-Benz are open, merely press and hold down the Air Circulation button for about two seconds, and the vehicle will then close all open windows and the sunroof, and it will recirculate the air within the cabin, preventing harmful fumes from entering the vehicle.
Once you are out of the tunnel, merely press and hold the Air Circulation button, and the vehicle will open the windows and sunroof, and stop them on their last known positions.

Hi.. thank you for the great videos! I have a concern.. my car is running fine...its just that something happened to my CLA which i want to understand. While i was reversing, i accidentally pressed the Part button. The engine went off. I then tried to turn the key again it didnt start. I was devastated for some seconds thinking i blew up the engine or gearbox.. i then turned the key back to position 0 and started again. It started. But the car is running fine thereafter, but im being the super attentive driver thinking that something may have gone wrong. Any help will be appreciated to understand what happened and why the engine went off at that moment?

This also works on a 2015 Mercedes A class apparently. It´s not perfect though as i noticed one of the windows freaked out and decided to roll down even further.

Hello Kenneth. You can buy a new bottle at any Mercedes dealership. Or alternatively, you can add your own perfume to the bottle, providing it is a non-alcohol based perfume.
ahhh, OK, thanks for the info. Never realized this was such a pressing problem that 20 or 30 very expensive components when they fail needed to be engineered for this.

Good Morning Sir. That is your auxiliary heater button. It allows you to maintain a set temperature inside the car once the car has been switched off, for about half an hour. The vehicle will have to meet certain criteria of course, such a certain fuel level and engine temperature, will all determine how long the auxiliary heater stays on.

i tried this tunnel trick on my car but didnt work. i tried both holding it up and down.
Why need open the window on tunnel?
I had this Tunnel mode on my 2003 C320 4matic w203 car in the past. I got a 2013 C250 luxury w204 mercedes 6 months ago and discovered that the "tunnel mode" feature was not present. I've taken my car to the dealerships where I live and all stated that my care doesn't come with the tunnel mode feature. BUT... I see on youtube, someone from the UK with the same car as mine, just the steering wheel on the right side, has the tunnel mode on their car. I was told by the dealerships, in my area, that this feature was taken away back in 2006 on my car.
I wanted to find out how I can get the Tunnel Mode back on to my 2013 W204 C250? I really miss this feature. Even perhaps if it's possible for me to have my car reprogrammed with the Europe Code so that I can get the Tunnel Mode back? Is this possible?
One last thing, another feature that also went away on my car was the feature where if the sunroof was open or vented, I could with a single push of the sunroof button and let go, without needing to hold the button or even press the button more than once,, be able to switch the position of the sunroof. Either from vent to fully open or fully open to vent. I can not do this anymore, which I w as able to do on my 2003 C320 4matic w203, before. So, Can this be reprogrammed on to my car, as well?

Unfortunately specifications for the various countries all differ, and as a consequent we can't properly diagnose the problem to provide accurate advice.
The sunroof, as well as side windows, have a point of resistance that needs to be passed to allow one-touch operation. So usually a firm pull or push, which is indicated by subtle resistance on the button, needs to be passed, which will then allow the sunroof or windows to roll up or down with one touch.
As for the Tunnel Function, what we have noticed in the past, is if there is an issue with a window, or perhaps, your Summer Function (the function that allows you to open or close your windows from outside the car), the Tunnel Function will not work.
Is your Summer Function working?

CORRECTION... If "summer mode" means to have the IR sensor on the front driver's door and have the ability to open and close ALL windows and sunroof from outside of the car, THEN YES... my "summer mode" WORKS.

ONE MORE THING... My car also has the KEYLESS-GO feature. Don't know if this mattered or not, but thought I'd mention this to you....
I was told that my car "doesn't have Tunnel mode". But I'm not sure this is true.
And I understand about pressing the buttons firmly to get a "single push" action on the buttons to open and close the sunroof and windows. What I was referring to in regards to the sunroof, is that with the sunroof fully open, I use to on my 2003 be able to push the sunroof button up firmly and just once and let go and then the sunroof would close and then vent automatically with that single touch.
But on my 2013, this does not do that. If my sunroof is open fully and I press my sunroof button firmly up and let go, then the sunroof stops and does not go to vent mode. If the sunroof is closed fully and I press the sunroof button firmly and once and let go, the sunroof then vents and visa versa when going from vent to close and sunroof close to fully open.
Right now, my car is under "extended warranty" and i have heard that dealerships will skirt/avoid/lie about a problem with a car that's under extended warranty due to that the dealership doesn't get paid for the repair because it's under warranty and that management tells the reps to lie in order for the warranty to expire first.
Whether or not this is true, is not the point. i just wanted to find out if my car is suppose to have the "summer mode / Tunnel mode" feature on it? If it is and it's not functioning, then I need to know what can be done to get this feature working again?
If you need my VIN to find out if my car should have come with Summer/tunnel mode, please let me know and I'll give it to you, but of course, I'd like to get a direct contact info (email or some other social media option) to send this to you. Would not like my personal info out there on the internet for everyone to see.

Hi Bernie. We are unfortunately from South Africa, so there is no way that we can help in this regard.
My suggestion would be to have a full electrical report on the vehicle done to see what is working and what isn't.
When it comes to vehicles from other countries it's nearly impossible for us to give advise, as specifications vary per country.
Sorry that we couldn't be much of assistance.
With BMW this kind of thing is all done in software and you can update the car if you have a laptop, the right cable and the right software. It's not that easy and no official documentation (or support for car owners doing it) and if you get it wrong you might have a sheepish visit to the dealer and pay a lot of have it reset. But i've updated my car in this way and also added features that would cost more if you bought them but in reality the car had the hardware and it was just a software change (eg a camera tracks the lane markings and warns if you stray out of the lane without signalling).

Vehicles equipped with Thermotronic automatically activates the re-circulation system.
if it breaks it will cost 6,000 dollars to fix or you might not pass smog.

Yes thanks that's where I saw, but the Mercedes me app, frankly stinks. Note is rating: 1.8 sad. So the adaptor which I know nothing about not available in USA?
About 80% of the time my car doesn't start with app. And no key fob starter sucks. The list of basic useful features on my 60k Cadillac CT6 is way way larger than my 80k E43

Key remote start
Camera rear view mirror
Front view camera
360 camera
Ability to change radio station with 1 push no matter what mode you are in.
Easy exit seat and wheel not just a 1 inch lift of wheel
And on and on. 20k less
CT6 larger not heavier and more HP AND torque.
America uses the Mbrace system and only recently started with Mercedes Me. Which would explain the low rating on the App as it has just been launched.
The Adapter is not compatible with the E-Class, and the E43, should have Mercedes Me - but again, this is all market dependent - which might explain why your E-Class doesn't have Mercedes Me.
I unfortunately cannot comment on the other features as they too are market specific. For example, the Intelligent Light System is not allowed in the US, but it works perfectly normal in South Africa.
Also, Cadillac is not sold in South Africa, so I can't comment on the product.

tunnel function lmfao what a joke. so you think only the latest models has it? this function has been around for a while don't think this is going to help any sales. I have the 2008 c220 works there and c63 works there too
As a Mercedes-Benz dealership we are well aware that this is an old function that our vehicles offer. Models older than yours have the functionality as well.
