NL three seconds later: “they are gonna give me the tutorial on base running now probably, no? Okay then”
he said base run but from context a few seconds later I'm pretty sure he meant steal bases, which wasn't mentioned in the little tutorial
Expecting NL to read the screen is an exercise in futility.
The real pro tip is in the comments.

Just doing my part to get the "Egg and Malfy play SMB3 part 1: stomp the yard" video comments to critical mass
NL: tries to explain the rules of baseball and immediately realises they're too insane and it's not possible
Also NL: talks about how this game is very accessible, and explains why using baseball words that might as well be ancient Hebrew
The rules are insane but the mechanics are simple (in general). On offense wait for your salami and rip dingers. On defense throw to the latest base you're most likely to get someone out.
NL: "This is the first time I've ever played a baseball game with a web-cam"

The season you did with MALF was one of the most pogged series you've ever done. This would be a great Eden replacement that doesn't have to drag on forever.

NL!! Please read this! I am an old Boomer like yourself but a tiny bit older. I grew up on the NES and have amazing memories of one of the BEST baseball games no one has ever played!
Base Wars
Its baseball, with fighting robots! If you steal a base, instead of someone just being out, you fight your robots to decide! You can even win by blowing up the whole enemy team by either fighting them to death or blowing them up by hitting them with pitches. You can even uograde weapons and robot parts!
Its not just a gimmick, its freaking good! I implore you to bring it up as an option for your golden goblet or at least an NL tries. I know you'd love it and it would certainly be entertaining to watch.
Base wars was definitely one of the best baseball games ever made. No question.

The last SMB2 series with MALF was coming out when I was on vacation with a girlfriend I was no longer in love with. I was biding my time to find the right moment to end things, but I knew it couldn't be then. NL and MALF was my escape, and that series will always hold a special place for me.
