Have enjoyed watching the Resto. Remember seeing these deckers when I went to Taree Catholic High School in the early 80's. A Forster decker was parked behind the then NRMA garage (Paff's) overnight between school run's. Keep up the good work Steve 👍. Dave
Watching from the UK, never got to drive an Atlantean here as passed my bus license years after they were retired them but will be watching going forward to see how this bus turns out. Love the sound of an Atlantean.
I remember the Atlantean's when they were at Ryde, Leichardt depots, not much chop going up the Gladesville Bridge in the peak with a full load of passengers. A lot of them ended up in Newcastle NSW when sold off, Lindsleys at Wallsend and Toronto bus company had some, where they used to do the steelworks shift change runs and school working. Hare Kishna mob had one all chromed up too based in inner Sydney. A lot of hard work ahead in the resto, good luck, and hope it all turns out well...
Rover Motors in Cessnock had a fair few of them too, used to get one home from Catholic school in Maitland in 1991. I remember I used to talk to the driver on the way home and he would get me to watch the mirror and let him know when a bunch of kids were standing up and he’d either swerve the wheel or jam the brakes on and laugh, and yell out ‘I told you bastards to sit down’.
@@dieseldavetrains8988 or better know as better late than never by some lol. Yes, Jack Lewis drove me to school from when I started high school to when I finished on old No2, a real nice old unit and he must have loved it himself. They used to have some very nice buses, I loved their Dennings, but I always wanted to travel on their MAN, but never was lucky enough. Pre Kempsey days I remember on a Canberra school trip being on the Denning in front hauling ass, on at least an old dollar, and the MAN rounding us up and just streaking away. It was so fast that when we stopped for dinner, he had fueled, unloaded all of the girls at McD’s, fed, watered and toileted them all, reloaded and blown town before we had even pulled into town. That thing must have been blisteringly fast.
I'd like to thank the youtube algorithm for sending me your way. Really loving the content, and that is one fine Atlantean. Looking forward to seeing more progress on the build. All the best from the land of the Leyland, the RT and the Routemaster. Cheers mate.
New viewer here, love the old buses. I went on the Atlanteans on Brisbane Water Coaches in the 80’s. I liked these units but my favourites were the 2 they imported from the UK, they were originally orange and white until they went into their fleet colours.

Where did you get the door rubber from?
it is an insertion rubber from the hardware. 1.5mm rubber, 200 mm wide 2 metre roll.
May I suggest getting the Milwalkie M12 battery rivet gun?
I will definitely be looking more closely at one of those for the next big rivet job!
At Nabiac
Is this the unit that came down from lightning ridge?
it is that unit correct
