Aren’t the 2500’s 375hp and 850 tq ? Check out calibrated power emissions intact tuning. They have awesome ecm and tcm tuning that can wake your truck up. These ram trucks see the best gains out of all the big 3 when tuning is done. I’ve got a warranty like you, so right now the banks pedal monster is all I have, but it makes a huge difference and the truck feels like it’s tuned. Nice comparison!
The Aisin is not at all what I would call a smooth transmission 😂 a good one, but bumpy. My 18 3500 cab and chassis has the aisin. My personal 2021 has the 68 and it is far better than the 4th gen 68.
I own a 2020 ram 2500 with a 6.4 and I LOVE THE 8 speed better than my 1500 I traded for it. Very smooth on road. Haven’t towed yet. Thanks for the review
My 22 Ram 3500 SRW CCLB HO Cummins has a GVWR of 12300lbs. 25120lbs towing 4269lbs payload. 32 gallon tank and also the 3500s have a bigger 12" rear end vs 11.5
I will never go to a short bed for towing, I love the look and space for the mega cab but being in tight spaces and having to jackknife a short bed just wouldn't do it
john ward the payload rating is the max weight you can load on the truck.... this includes occupants, cargo and trailer tongue/pin weight...towing is what it is capable of as long as you don't exceed the payload rating of the truck.
Good question! From my experience, both will burn around the same amount of fuel and DEF provided they’re being driven the same. Parts at the Shoup should also be comparable being the same truck minus a few extra parts. And payment wise, the 3500s will be a touch more for the HO and better transmission and a suspension upgrade!
The 2500 I think make 386 hp 860 tq the high put put makes 410 hp 1075 tq big difference tho but nice 2500 looks like it had larger wheels than 3500 by a little I could be wrong
So other than engines, are the axles, brakes, tires, etc the same. I have heard people saying why get a 3500 when all you have to do is add a couple of springs to the 2500 and it’s practically the same. I don’t think they is true otherwise it seems everyone would be doing it.
Yup, from my understanding, axles, brakes, wheels/tires are all the same. I actually sold my stock wheels and tires (same exact size) to the company for an extra set for the 3500 to have around. It’s all engine, trans, and springs.
Haha yeah Ram does a poor job at relaying the info! It’s not even in the owners manual. You have to dig on their website to type in all the truck specs to see both bumper and gooseneck tow capabilities.
What does the sticker say on the door post? It’s my understanding that that cargo capacity typically goes down with the added options…especially a diesel engine.
@@dann2769 interestingly enough.. door panel reads “The combined weight of occupants and cargo should never exceed 2190#” I’m familiar with using door panels for GVW and whatnot for work as I work at a trailer dealership… never seen the separate one for this which is why I went with the manual. Hmmm 🤔

Funny you recommend… I’m in talks with a few shops at the moment for a weight loss kit and some tuning. Lol you’ll see it on the channel soon 🤫

Have you heard of Timbren? If not check them out, replace your bump stock and may help with hauling and stabilizing the truck. Cheaper than air bags.

Here in Australia the 3500 only comes in white. At $200,000 it should come in every colour.

You can also get the high output engine in the 2500 with the Aisin transmission, and the high output makes 425hp and 1,075 fpt
