It might be because of how much passion and effort went into it. Stephen was a dedicated artist and marine enthusiast, and while it’s not as rare to see cartoons produced with that kind of love, it easily makes SpongeBob stand out from other shows

I'm almost certain the "Actors cussing" part of the iceberg is actually from the episode "Sailor Mouth" where the actors who's words were censored with the comedic sped up kookaburra tweet (which was mistaken for a dolphin) were actual swears rather than placeholder swears, considering Tom Kenny's Elf voice sample was inspiration for the voice he uses for voicing Spongebob
the way they pronounce the words and length of the curse words plus the soundtrack doesnt match the episode
I think, other than that, there's so many videos and clips of cartoon voice actors swearing because it keeps bad voice clips from being used. I don't know if this is true or where I heard it, but it makes sense.

The voice actors also did the episde while cussing in charachter and later in editing removing the cuss words and fill in the iconic sounds. there is an uncut video on youtube wher they say things like "taxation is theft" and "fuck yea"

I find it funny how much the deadly sins theory persisted considering how nobody can agree which characters represent what sin, there are always holes and janky justifications in people explanations and it was debunked

The issue with the deadly sins theory is that it isn't really a theory, the characters being based on sins doesn't change anything about the world they live in, its the same as a Zodiac signs theory

for those who don't know, Nosferatu was a German silent film spoof on Bram Stoker's Dracula though with differences. his real name was Count Orlock who was a spoof on Dracula who was inspired by Stoker's memories of his parents telling him stories of vampires as well as the real life tyrant, Vlad the Impaler of Wallachia.

It was not a "spoof" but a straight, serious adaption. They changed the names because they couldn't get the rights for the book. Stoker's widow sued them for plagiarism, and the film was nearly eradicated.

All good points about the deadly sins theory, but it's important to remember that lust isn't always sexual. Lust is defined as a hyperfocus or obsession on something. Spongebob fits this really well because he's obsessed with almost everything he does. His job, jellyfishing, his friends-- it's good that he loves those things, but there are some points where he takes it too far (like the episodes where he cries at closing time or bothers Squidward because he wants to play with him so badly)

I’ve always had a weird vibe about SpongeBob…I loved it as a kid but the more I look into it the creepier it gets. I remember having nightmares about Patrick breaking into my house and lurking in the darkness. Maybe reading all those SpongeBob creepypastas until two in the morning didn’t help

Regarding the "just one bite" episode: I'm extremely sure that back in the days I saw a version of the episode (in Germany) where the parts with the buckets of gasoline were cut, but the explosion and Squidward coming through the door were still there without any context. Maybe it's the Mandela effect or something like that but I am pretty sure.
Edit, cause I think some people fail to understand me: I *know* the scene has been cut because of 9/11 or something, I watched the video too otherwise I wouldn't have written a comment about something that was in the video. But I remember it only partially being cut, with *only* the gasoline buckets missing but with the explosion and Squidward being burned still there.

There's also a cut scene from "Procrastination" and I have no idea why it's cut. It was literally Sandy and Patrick outside at a fair and he was rubbing Sandy's shoulders. If people thought it was "inappropriate" I have no idea why

One extra thing to add is Shelley. She's Spongebob's pet scallop that has lived in the cage in Spongebob's room ever since Help Wanted. However, the series has never acknowledged her. Even though she's in Spongebob's room, she's probably the most forgettable Spongebob character if you can even call her one.

Fun fact, the "mop company" is a wrong thing spread around, as Sponge Boy was never copyrighted by a mop company, but a pencil company re-using an old comic strip on their pencils. The old comic strip being named "Sponge Boy"
Regarding the nickelodeon hotel, I remember being inside of it when I was very VERY young, I don't remember much but I remember there being a balcony where the pillars were painted the famous nickelodeon orange. I also very clearly remember the flooring being a deep navy blue. There was a huge pool / pond in the center of the hotel that you could see from of the balcony, however we did not end up staying there. Thx for including this, I thought that it was just my brain convincing me I went somewhere like that.

I find the help wanted thing super interesting! I had SpongeBob on VHS growing up, and that episode was on it, followed by what I think was the treasure hunting episode.
I had no idea that it was removed from future releases on DVDs because of the copyright issues.
I had the 3rd season dvd and it had it available even though it wasn't on the first two season dvds

I'm happy to report that SpongeBob popsicles still exist. I've seen them sold at Village Pantry gas stations for many years. The one by my neighborhood used to also sell Gengar Pokemon Popsicles, but they stopped about 12 or so years ago.

An unofficial/parodic addition to the Depth-Abyss level of the Spongebob Iceberg might be the violent Spongebob Microsoft Paint slideshow cartoons made by panchitomatrix back in the late 2000s. He made several SAW movie parodies using Spongebob, Patrick, and Squidward and I vividly remember Squidward being Jigsaw on the ground in the 1st movie parody. Patrick also became uncharacteristically evil in the 2nd one and threw spongebob into the Needle Pit trap for the key. The rest of the cast were stickmen with colored mohawks. Another PanchitoMatrix 'animation' i remember was Spongebob and Patrick robbing a bank and killing people with shotguns. I tried to dig it back up but I think they're no longer available on youtube for several years likely due to community guideline violations (the channel itself may still be up but I haven't checked in a long time).
I bring it up because I found them more disturbing than the 18+ Spongebob Parody that Oney made. But if you want to give it a go and search it yourself, those were more or less the titles of the videos themselves.
The channel is still up, and they're still making videos. They even made SpongeBob Among Us parodies.

When I was a young kid I wanted to recreate the scene where Squidward was "playing with gas" so I completely understand why it was cut
It was actually cut because the episode first aired months prior to 9/11. It was changed afterwards to revert any trauma caused from it.

I know for a fact the Teenage Gary deleted scene was fake. This episode freaked me out so much as a kid, but I remember as a kid wondering what Squidward’s transformation would look like. I have no memory of said transformation though, which is why I get annoyed when people said they remembered him transforming
I'am glad there's stuff like this about spongebob, shows that people who appreciate the show are still there and active. I will never forget tuning to Nick, at the time it was the only dubbed channel in KZ, and just anticipating the moment that Spongebob will be on.

I stayed at the Nick hotel back in I think 2016.
I can't remember for certain what themed room I had but it was something sci-fi (The only Nick show I really watched as a kid was spongebob and fairly odd parents). I think the spongebob room is more about the existence of a spongebob-themed hotel room rather than something scary or dark. I remember meeting some kid that had a spongebob room. I don't recall him saying anything was off about his room when I asked about it. Nothing in my room really scared me at all. It was all pretty normal, but one night, the fire alarms at the hotel went off so we all had to evacuate. It was a false alarm, though.
I remember having a great time overall :)

It turns out that SpongeBoy was actually not a mop company at all. Spongeboy was a piece of art that was put on a set of pencils and there was also a comic that had a character named spongeboy. The confusion was caused by miscommunication.

I have been to multiple nick hotels and stayed in spongebob rooms as a kid in 2011 or so. It was always a wild experience and one time there was a full on movie theatre with 4D spongebob. Just felt like sharing that because I have talked to a lot of ppl and not heard others who had ever stayed at the hotels

Spongehenge is one of my least favorite episodes (from that season). It is pretty dark, and it really creeped me out as a kid. To think that SpongeBob came back from insanity ready to start again, only for everything he once knew to be gone. This is the only episode where everyone is implied to have died, which is why it felt so ominous to me. Though I do consider it to be another ending to the SpongeBob universe, instead of the happily ever after of the SpongeBob movie.

Oh my god. The Burger King commercial is legit one of my favorite commercials of all time. It's probably weird to even have a favorite commercial, but that's just the way I am. Regarding the “Lego SpongeBob” bit, I vividly remember watching SpongeBob themed stop motion shorts made with Lego on comcast’s on demand. Specifically, I remember there was one version of the Christmas song “don’t be a jerk, it’s Christmas”. So I think it’s referring to that.
