Kudos to your delivery guy and his supervisor for helping you out--but I really wanna say kudos to the restaurant. In my experience, most businesses receiving an incorrect order like that would've just thrown it away.
What is that, 16.67%? I used to work in several bookstores. In the retail book industry, it used to be standard to get a 60% profit--and if you think that's high, just let me tell you, every bookstore I ever worked in was really struggling just to survive. With the advent of internet bookselling in a big way about twenty years ago, 60% became not enough any more. Every bookstore I worked in went belly up. I feel for the record retailer.
Great you got them back! Why wouldn't people at the restaurant check the label/address on the box after they opened them and found inside was nothing to do with the restaurant? My daughter lives a few doors down from the TV studio where "In Session" was done, the powers that be are ready to tear it down and put up a couple 30 story condo towers with one apparently already sold out.
I used to be a USPS delivery driver. I was extremely good and accurate. Want to know how? The main thing is to simply make notes of which addresses have packages delivered that day before you start delivering. If I were to work for FedEx, I would still make notes showing how many packages are for each address.
I can't stand them either. The FedEx hubs in Oklahoma City are a joke. Went to one hub and they told me my package was at the northside hub. Go there. Nope no package. Check with FedEx Ground and they don't have it. I asked them to talk to the driver and they tell me they have a process they have to go to before they'll do that. so after 8 days my package is still missing. Way to go FedEx.
I hate them. We just moved into a new place and I have never had a problem with them till now. I don't trust them anymore, because who signed for my package?
as a delivery postman for irish Post I can tell you you are 100% right. talk to your delivery guy, then talk to the local office or hub. 99.99% of the time mistakes are rectified locally. they are rare but so annoying when they happen. Good on that guy for sorting it out and good on the restaurant for being honest
If you ever see that driver again you know the supervisor was lying. Because the driver would be fired on the spot for scanning the package as delivered than not delivering it.
I'm currently dealing with FedEx, it has been almost 2 months since they lost 30 pounds of irreplaceable family heirloom Italian gold. That my mother left me and her will that was shipped to me by a close family member. They have done everything but look for it. The sender filed multiple claims. I filed multiple claims, they ignored me, treated me like a burden, and even insinuated that the sender had it. I finally got an email from the investigation team, and they asked me for information like the vendor name and serial numbers. She didn't even read what I had to say after I poured my heart out to her saying that all I want is to feel close to my parents. I'm alone, I've been through hell, I have a brain injury from domestic violence, and because of this, I am now bald from stress. And I have probably spoken to 75 people and not a single one has done anything about it. I stay up all night, checking eBay, and calling every single pawnshop in a 75 mile radius asking for unique items that would be recognizable. I have been working more than them.and all I want is for them to find it. I don't want money from them. I don't want to take them to court I just want them to find it. So before I sue them, I'm taking one more chance, and contacting the Better Business Bureau and posting on social media at the very least so that no one. Make the same mistake I did. 12 years of being a loyal customer, sending my own antiques through them as I collect silver. And I have never had a problem with them. FedEx was always the best of the best and suddenly they are putting me through hell and I can't get a single person to care. Please send me prayers or vibes or wishes that they find it. Seeing your video, give me some hope
Wow! That’s amazing the supervisor went above and beyond like that! Not gonna lie - FedEx is notoriously bad around here but our UPS guys are amazing. So glad you got the records back! But that spend $3000 to make $3500 hit so hard, man. Truest thing you’ve ever said hahaha
I ordered Supertramp BIA directly from MFSL which was sent by FedEx. I saw the truck driving away from my street on the scheduled delivery date (dead end only one way out). I checked my porch, nothing there. I checked the tracking it said delivered. I walked around the street checking other porches for packages, nothing. I knocked on my neighbor’s door asked if she received anything. She said no but check their garage FedEx sometimes leaves packages in there when the door is open. There it was, inside my neighbor’s garage!

Nice to know I'm not the only one with horror delivery stories including records. I'm not going to rate the services because they are different depending on your location. Just like with records though if you pay more for something you expect quality.
@@noahbrown6970 Problem with Amazon is they have multiple ways to deliver your package. Depending on your location these can range from good to awful. I’m keeping my technics 1200’s, at this point they are part of the family but can you let me know about your amp, speakers etc and if they would work well with my decks. Thanks brother.
I'm surprised anything gets delivered at all with that company. It seriously blows my mind that they gave you the supervisors cell number. My package was at a hub 10 mins from me last night, scheduled to be delivered today. I wake up and check tracking and find out it got on an airplane to Oakland (400 miles away from me). It wasn't easy, but I got a human being on the phone after about an hour which ended up being wasted time because nobody knew anything. They couldn't tell me why it flew to Oakland, how that could even happen, or how their scanning/processing system even works. I don't get mad or yell or blame people so I don't think they were dodging me on purpose. They were actually just completely clueless as to how their system even works. Even the supervisor. Vastly different experience from yours lol.

Happy ending 🙌 Thanks for sharing the experience! It happened nearly the same to me with DPD- they delivered a complete collection of MOTU original figures (worth about €1500) to a random house. We (driver/myself) finally found it after searching for 2 months and it happened that they were all displayed into a child’s room of a random family. Some bits were sadly missed. Those types of mistakes happen ALL THE TIME with FedEx for things I order for work. I can't even tell you how many times I have had to walk all over the office building to other offices to locate our stuff. I think that every driver that uses the "Signature on file" BS should be forced to provide a photo of the package at the location and justify the use of it each time. Our drivers have just made it their standard practice to put that on all deliveries and it almost always fails for us. The "Signature on file" BS gives them almost a license to steal. FedEx drops the ball a lot. Very happy you got your packages back, but I seriously don't believe you would have if you did not press as hard as you did. They just did not want you showing up at their building so the finally did something. Finally, what the heck kind of "Standard practice" is it for those restaurant people to just open all packages regardless of the name on the package AND when they see it was nothing they need for work they just throw away the boxes and say "Oh well...someone should just come looking for them." That is BS too. Those people need to clean up their act too. Sorry for th long comment. This is just something very close to me both as a recipiant of packages from FedEx and having a long history of being a shipper as well.
I kind of agree. The restaurant folks could have easily remedied the whole situation by opening a box, seeing records that clearly weren’t food produce and then contacting the intended address on the box which was Noble records.
@@bigsweetc6 Exactly. If the owners or managers of that place think opening misdelivered packages is the correct action they need help. Techinically, it is an offense. Not sure if it is a federal offense since it did not go through the USPS, but still.
Its a miracle the records were all there and undamaged. That Restaurant is very honest and good people. You should eat there and promote their business by word of mouth. No I do not work for them....ha ha ha.
Hi, I have a few lost packages to where I have no last scan at all, so I do not know which warehouse my packages ended up at. I did the Missing Mail claim thing too. The items inside were personal items when me and the family moved-clothes, photo albums, books, etc. what to do??
wow, you really lucked out there bro. Delivered to a restaurant!? Luckily a dishwasher etc didn't snag a few of those at the very least! Happy for ya man
Glad you got it fixed, Fed Ex sometimes hires subcontractors, and it was in one of these cases that a sub destroyed a 2k bike of mine. I only got it fixed with lots of threats even though it was insured on both sides of the delivery.... I go UPS!
Fedex lost my daughter’s ski bag with two sets of everything. First, they sent a text saying it was mistakenly sent to Sacramento. Then the next day, truck pulls up, I turn to open garage door, dude left a piece of cardboard on front porch, and I chased truck yelling all the way to the corner. Cardboard turned out to be the label daughter had taped and ziptied to the 7 foot long 40 lb bag. Somebody cut that zip tie, and they delivered the little piece of cardboard! This is crazy. Shame on Fedex.
As someone who worked in a FedEx hub for a few years back in college I can tell you that the story of the supervisor going stop-to-stop to find your packages just didn't happen. FedEx drivers have 100+ stops a day and he visited all of them? Heck no. And By law (atleast in Canada) they technically can't do that. Once mail is delivered it becomes property of the person it was delivered to. Even if not the same person as on the ship info. Only if the receiver goes through the steps of returning a wrong package will FedEx return and pick up. And the story of the other people opening the mail and discarding the boxes. lol, c'mon. who would do that? Here's what happened. Somehow, whether accidently or intentionally the packing/shipping sticker was removed from your package in the FedEx hub. I would think that this was done intentionally because you have multiple issues. Then your package would have been left in a lost-and-found (sort of) place without any identification on it for months until it was deemed "lost". Then the managers/supervisors get first dibs claiming the "lost" items. IMO be careful someone in that hub is a record collector if you ask me. Coincidence those packages had quite valuable reissues in them? I think not. The FedEx hubs are the worst, shadiest, most toxic and most thankless places to work. If you saw what they were like inside trust me you'd switch courier services (even though they are all the same. Sorry for the long response
@@mercurialmagictrees I'm sure the supervisor will pass the message to the package handlers to leave Dylan's packages alone. I'm almost positive he won't have an issue going forward. You're right. What I said might seem outlandish. But an entry-level manager going to the extent he claims he did to find Dylan's package when Dylan's package is just one of literally tens of thousands packages that passes through his shift daily. That's outlandish. FedEx and systemic theft/fraud have a long history together. Almost like its an addiction.
My package is lost. The package arrived from Spain to Memphis - from Memphis to Los Ángeles ( destination), but since they missed to do the customs paperwork. The guitar had to be returned from Los Angeles to Memphis until they cleared the paperwork, which was done almost immediately on that transition, they lost track of where the package was. Customs said this is a carrier issue now, and the shipper is refusing to file a claim as FED ex states that is in clearance with customs. I have talked to the 1800 #, and there is ZERO help. What can I do?
Try to call the Memphis FedEx hub, find someone who will talk to you there or even your local office, to see if they can give you a number. In my experience the 1800 numbers won’t help much. Hope you find it!!!
So we all have stories of delivery disasters, but when you think about how many millions of packages they deliver every day the percentages are miniscule and any complex logistics system will have some losses, it is just the way complex systems operate.
I sold a collection of extremely rare/valuable right-wing political records to a collector in Canada. It was also about $3,000 worth or records. Canadian post confiscated the package and refused to deliver it because they deemed it to be "hate material". It sat in their possession for about a month and the buyer was informed that the records could not enter Canada. The records were to be returned to me. I never expected to actually get them back or, if I did get them back I expected them to be trashed. Incredibly I got them all back exactly as I sent them! I wound up shipping them to his mother here in the states instead. Crazy.
My Fed Ex driver basically took a blurry picture of the ground and said delivered on a 450 dollar pair of sneakers. Fed Ex customer service has been decent but I don't have much faith they're going to fix this. I think the driver stole it.
Fedex lost my shipment of 2500 live worms. It made it to the distribution center and never left. But I feel sorry for the smell that box might create in the warehouse or if anyone opens it.
It is so stressful sometimes dealing with deliverys we have a deli over here in the UK . Things go walkabout sometimes . But like you said it turns up in the end. Good thinking about the CCTV 👍🙏
Same experience ! Except it was delivered to the wrong house call the hub ,told the supervisor would call and hour later all 5 of my records were on my door step ! Come to find out the supervisor tracked down every stop and found them !
I cant remember which carrier it was, but I remember that just over a year ago i had a parcel containing a phone end up getting delivered to the wrong address
2 things.. it's so weird the restaurant workers didn't keep or look at the boxes and see where the delviery was supposed to go.. and Also doesn't your vendor insure their orders?
Yes the vendors do, ultimately I would have been able to get my money back, but they run a business too and I didn’t want to have to stick them with it.
Quick story. I’m with my father about 1964 or so at a local department store called Korevettes here in NY. I’m 15 and out with dad for god knows what. We pass by a table of records so of course I stop and start looking. My dad says hey this looks interesting. Shakey Jake, we should get this. So $2.49 later I had the original of that for years. All through college etc. Lost the original when my ex wife split. Still looking to replace it. Glad FedEx took care of you and did the right thing. Take care
Man, I didn't realize that Along Came John by John Patton was released by Analogue Productions! I just bought a beat to heck original copy last month for about the same price as the AP 45RPM presses go for. Might have to get that version too. 😉 I am glad you got your delivery situation resolved. That has only ever happened to me one time ordering or selling. It is so difficult to track down missing packages for them even with all the tools they have at their disposal.
I send my laptop for repair and way to home my laptop lost in tracking shows it's delivered but it not I have security cameras as well I hope I can get my laptop back I spent 2000 dollar for it
ive often thought about opening a record store but after you said spend 3000.00 to make 3500.0? Is that actually your gross profit on 3000.00? Seems very low
$3000 is only 1.5 ounces of gold! I only have a couple of jazz LPs. I never got into jazz much because it's difficult to understand and even worse, it's very difficult to play on the piano.
Just got my discord 200 singles box set in the mail today after waiting a year or so for it. We moved last year so I was nervous about it going to our new place. Did your punk rock friend (Jason?) get one? It’s really nice. Great printing and attention to detail. Going to spin them tomorrow afternoon. Good follow through on getting those records back. Sounds like you kept your cool. Glad it worked out.
Got mine too. I also moved and has to contact Dischord about the address change but fortunately it showed up no problem. Wish I had ordered two. One to keep and one to sell. People are paying $200-$300 . It’s crazy.
Got to say mixed bag with FedEx, they are struggling right now, I ship a few thousand packages a week and they always loose some. I know they have employee challenges but it boils down to most FedEx drivers being contractors and not employees. Hopefully they can fix it before they get bought out.
Wow, you got lucky they were all there once they were out of the package. If I had worked had that restaurant I'd be asking that manager "Hey so what are you going to do with those records? " Can I have them? 😀
One theorizes that the restaurant might've casually mentioned this incorrect delivery to their driver at some point. WTH were they thinking? Free records? Weird, man.
@@mercurialmagictrees well to be fair to the "morons" they work in a restaurant and they were told anything that is delivered here, open the box, remove the contents and get rid of the packing material/ cardboard. Their job was not to question which manager ordered what.any small businesses would quickly run out of space if they didn't get rid of the trash. I ordered a Russian White album from the Ukraine about 3 weeks ago…. It might or might not arrive, either way that cash will definitely help someone out in these perilous times.
Does fedex hire drives that can’t read. Some one please explain how a package with a perfectly clear name and address on the package can be delivered to a completely different address. They then take a photo which proves it was delivered to the wrong address. It is so obvious it must be on purpose. It is a scam where the package contents now winds up on the internet for sale.
My package was lost before it was even delivered. It was lost in the hub itself.

That is BS too.
Glad someone went out and put in the effort. Its becoming less and less common. Customer service has gone out the window the past two years.
I count myself lucky on this one!
Its a miracle the records were all there and undamaged. That Restaurant is very honest and good people. You should eat there and promote their business by word of mouth. No I do not work for them....ha ha ha.
This happen to me with a iPhone that was out for delivery since the 15th now it’s the 26th
Happy for ya man
Yeah I know! Blessed!
3k in analog productions records thats about 7 albums these days
Glad you got it fixed, Fed Ex sometimes hires subcontractors, and it was in one of these cases that a sub destroyed a 2k bike of mine. I only got it fixed with lots of threats even though it was insured on both sides of the delivery.... I go UPS!
BTW My UPS driver is a friend, and stops in to Gab everyday or so.
Just got those Albert King/SRV & Freddie King albums myself last week! KILLER stuff from AP!
Wow. Thank god. Pretty cool he gave you his cell number.
Yes!
That is a collectors worst nightmare.
You and I have talked about this but ordering overseas always scares me. What if it gets lost etc etc.
Oh wow this should be a pinned comment. This makes more sense even if it seems outlandish.
@@ryanw2544 thanks for letting us know. Go Bills !
@@noblerecords Thats what I've been trying to do but the number they gave me is disconnected.
So we all have stories of delivery disasters, but when you think about how many millions of packages they deliver every day the percentages are miniscule and any complex logistics system will have some losses, it is just the way complex systems operate.
Very true!
Mine says recieved in n Utah but nothing has changed for entire week? Should i be worried?
No, sometimes things get stuck
Fedex lost my shipment of 2500 live worms. It made it to the distribution center and never left. But I feel sorry for the smell that box might create in the warehouse or if anyone opens it.
Fedex lost my shipment of 68kg, it made it to the distribution centre memphis and never left
Yeah I’m glad!
Haha. That’s nuts. Honestly.. FedEx seems like roulette.
All delivery is.
Wow!! Amazing Story... Some hard working and honest folks involved...
FedEx that deliver my cat's medicine in three days
Couldn't the restaurant have gotten in touch with you, considering your address was on the boxes etc? Glad you got your stuff, man.
So glad it was recovered! Do you think the post master would do what that FedEx manager did? 😂
Nope!🤣
I cant remember which carrier it was, but I remember that just over a year ago i had a parcel containing a phone end up getting delivered to the wrong address
2 things.. it's so weird the restaurant workers didn't keep or look at the boxes and see where the delviery was supposed to go.. and Also doesn't your vendor insure their orders?
Yes the vendors do, ultimately I would have been able to get my money back, but they run a business too and I didn’t want to have to stick them with it.
Persistence pays
What about the horror stories of FedEx's Hutchins Texas location.
Nice!
Take care
Yeah that’s a great underrated blues record! Thanks man!
Grew up in the NYC and Korvettes and Gimbles was my go to stop for records, had the cheapest prices back then.
Glad things worked out. FedEx is the best. Sometimes a box is late but always gets delivered.
Yeah they impressed me by going out of their way this time
@@noblerecords Our driver has always been our go to when we have had problems. No MIA's so far, knock on wood.
FedEx is the best
Talk about customer service! I hope you tipped that manager a first pressing of The Velvet Underground and Nico (unopened, at the very least).
That's a relief, lucky the Restaurant staff had good taste, otherwise they might have knicked a few!!
Man, I didn't realize that Along Came John by John Patton was released by Analogue Productions! I just bought a beat to heck original copy last month for about the same price as the AP 45RPM presses go for. Might have to get that version too. 😉
I am glad you got your delivery situation resolved. That has only ever happened to me one time ordering or selling. It is so difficult to track down missing packages for them even with all the tools they have at their disposal.
I would recommend it! Sounds incredible
I send my laptop for repair and way to home my laptop lost in tracking shows it's delivered but it not I have security cameras as well I hope I can get my laptop back I spent 2000 dollar for it
Yep they are the worst. It's either broken or it's been opened.
FedEx leaves my heavy Chewy boxes at the end of my driveway even in tbe snow when path was clear. Pure Laziness.
😬
ive often thought about opening a record store but after you said spend 3000.00 to make 3500.0? Is that actually your gross profit on 3000.00? Seems very low
It is, the money is in the used records. You gotta sell high volume to make it worth it.
It is, the money is in the used records. You gotta sell high volume to make it worth it.
Very lucky mate! Glad it worked out.🥳
FedEx
You were lucky!!! I have gone through this before. Hello again from an avid collector of lp`s
Usps didn't move a package I ordered for 7 weeks. Yikes!
That Stevie ray Vaughn Albert king is amazing
Fed ex has screwed me over more than anyone else
That happens a lot I work for FedEx but not in the US 😉
$3000 is only 1.5 ounces of gold!
Well I always try to remember it’s usually not the person your talking to’s fault. Thanks! Not sure if Jeremy got that box set, I’ll ask!
I had Fleetwood Mac's Greatest hits cd show up a year and a half later after I ordered it.
Ahhhh that makes sense!
I did just have a delivery from FedEx and they were two days late. First time I received anything late from them.
Great advice! Thanks for sharing and glad you got those records
Thanks for watching! 🙏
Weird, man.
Yeah exactly. But hey, none were missing!
Restaurants are a tough business and they were probably just preoccupied with vendors being late and people not showing up for their shifts.
Would suck to be waiting for a shipment of fresh fish and open the boxes and find records. LOL
Whoever signed for it should have realized it was the wrong address.
They just lost my 3k gun ... how the fuck do they misplace a weapon of all things sooooo irresponsible in going sue this has been a nightmare
Oh no! Sorry to hear that!
Is it worth it to sue them? They lost my $3600 package, probably they stole it
Lucky cat.
So fed ex does not have trackers on their packages. Why am I paying money to them?????
Good deal, glad you got your shiznit back! 🤘
Thanks!!!
How did you get that Skynyrd record ? Does AP have them back in stock ?
It was in stock back when I ordered it 🤣🤦♂️
The real question is how did they stack the records when they took them out?
Hahaha. That doesn’t matter as much as people act.
@@noblerecords I would think it would matter if they were left "stacked" for a year+, and was also in a high humidity area - I would think?
I thought about that too! What morons would throw out the boxes for stuff that got misdelivered ??
@@mercurialmagictrees well to be fair to the "morons" they work in a restaurant and they were told anything that is delivered here, open the box, remove the contents and get rid of the packing material/ cardboard. Their job was not to question which manager ordered what.any small businesses would quickly run out of space if they didn't get rid of the trash. Sorry I just hear so many people calling others morons or jerks or stupid it's just bad karma injected into the environment....
I ordered a Russian White album from the Ukraine about 3 weeks ago…. It might or might not arrive, either way
that cash will definitely help someone out in these perilous times.
When did you start stocking new records? I thought you were just sticking with vintage.
Been doing it for about 2 years now
Hi there phew..... happy you got the rightful goodies
Thanks!
