Ever since I saw this movie all those years ago.... . For me.. best part of the movie is when John Doe says..... With that little smirk "Oh He Didn't Know"🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Right before Mills shoots John Doe, you can see, for a split second, the face of Mills' wife. Genius move to show the audience what the last thing was that went through Mills head before he send multiple bullets through John Doe's head.
They were originally going to show the head in the box but then decided not to show it. They wanted to add to the suspense of the scene. The head was even made and was used years later in the movie Contagion.
Morgan Freeman is so good in this scene, even though the focus is obviously Brad Pitt and Kevin Spacey. You can see the exact moment he realizes there's nothing he can say and Mills is going to kill John Doe.
One thing I learned about watching reactions to this movie was not everyone was saying "shoot him". I just assumed everyone thought the same as me during this scene.
funny how all the ppl are saying don't do it but in real life they would not hesitate to get revenge if it was their loved ones who had been killed in that way. this streamer generation has missed on the golden age era of movies like this. top notch acting on all part. David Fincher is a genius
Mills just murdered an unarmed, kneeling, handcuffed convict. Doe knew he'd face up to a life sentence, or, depending on the state the film is set in, a death sentence.
Whoever says/thinks that Mills shouldn't have shot John is probably a psychopath, seriously, because what Mills did is the most human reaction in that scenario

"Empty the clip!" "That's what suppose to happen!"
"I'm starting to see what you guys meant by disturbing"
As the movie comes to a close

I think I heard from
Somewhere that the same head of Gwen Paltro was used to make the autopsy scene in Contageon

Addie "what's in the box?"
exactly 😂
I agree with EOM.
One of the most darkest endings in cinema history
Kevin Spacey was on the top of his game in this movie.. A masterpiece in acting.

If Kat has a partner, do not, under any circumstances, upset her.
"It's a lose, lose"
Yeah I agree he shouldn't have killed him, but at the same time I know I would not be strong enough not to empty clip and reload just to do it again.
John Doe dies for his sin of Envy, but Mills doesn’t die for his sin of Wrath. So actually he didn’t win.
I'm just wondering: In order for Mills to "become wrath", was John Doe expecting David to off HIMSELF, after shooting HIM?
Death isn't necessarily the punishment. Sloth and lust lived technically.
Mills just murdered an unarmed, kneeling, handcuffed convict. Doe knew he'd face up to a life sentence, or, depending on the state the film is set in, a death sentence.
In the end, John Doe won, but, he didn't get to experience it very long.
I'd do life too.
He only wins if if you playing by his rules, if you ignore them, they are irrelevant.
