I love your channel I’m 61 years old and I haven’t drawn for over 30 years because life happens and in all the chaos that goes with it, but watching your videos and I having all the time in the world now to relax and enjoy life. I’m starting to draw again, thank you so much for the encouraging words and the love that you put in to your art work.
Same but I am 62 and 2 yrs out from retirement. I have been getting my muscle memory back and messing around. Gonna take a class in the summer. (I am a teacher and summers are my practice being retired time) I can't wait until I REALLY have free time. Getting ready for it now. Writing down goals and keeping track. (I had a goal of sketching every day for an hour but so far managing every other day 30 minutes.) I am proud of myself and how quickly I am feeling comfortable and getting lost in drawing like I did in my school days and through my 20's. Just working on increasing time at it. Thanks Jess! Love your channel!
Hey there! I’m almost 60 years old and have R.A. I quit drawing because of the pain but watching Jess I started drawing again to too long ago, today isn’t one of my best days so I just watch and I can fill my fingers like dancing!!! Thank you Jess because today your video was the highlight of my day, Blessings to you all and love from Florida ❤
I really love how you explain your process of breaking things down and letting yourself feel the process. It is very inspiring and so beautiful to see.
I was hoping you would talk about the jumbo pencils! I love how your drawings just seem to emerge from the paper, from blended and smudgy “nothing” and WHAM a few select lines and it comes alive!
I have been published since 1985 and an illustrator of books album covers etc. I have designed ornaments made in Poland and make zines. You channel is top notch and we love your work. Thank you for doing this. Even though I am 53 I am learning from you. You and your videos are lovely.
I am 51 and watching you draw makes me wish I got started drawing earlier in my life. I’ve always loved art but never made time to pursue it. I often wonder if I missed my chance to hone my skill and become a talented artist.
Been eagerly waiting for a new video! Can't wait to dive into it ASAP! The amount of knowledge I've gained from you in my art-venture is insane! Thankyou so much Jess! Love from India
Jess, such a wonderful video and exactly on time - I watched till the end and noticed when you clasped your hands in gratitude for what you had accomplished - This was a hard one for you to complete and see through to the end, but you did it. You broke through a wall. Not a tall wall, but a THICK wall, which are the trickiest ones, needing endurance and patience. You looked for the wins and wonder in wach challenge. - That was very real and touching to me. I've been challenged lately in my art practice and this gave me the grace to keep going. Thank you so much!!!
I've always had trouble figuring out why I'm so entranced while watching your videos. Then in the middle of the video (while you were drrawing that black dude) I got it! It is... it eludes me again. All I can say for now, you're absolutely magical!
Oh wow, I’ve also had the stuff to do the things you do in your sketchbook. And it seems as if it’s in flow while you drawing. Thanks for the inspiration and the good vibes…but I never ever can do it so amazingly well like you. Thanks for sharing❤
What a beautiful inspiring video Jess! Thanks so much for sharing your work. Impressive. At 68, I continue experiment with art in different areas to keep my brain working. I love watching your videos. Keep going and I wish you all the best everyday! Happy Easter! ❤❤❤
Jess your videos always get me inspired!! The whole day I’ve been feeling myself slipping into an apathetic sad state but seeing all those wonderful emotions you drew put me in a better mood and I might actually pick up a pencil and draw 😊
Your art is so beautiful and special! Thank you that you always motivates to draw and to be not afraid to try something new and being not perfect. That helps me to get my inspiration back:) Thank you so much!
Love this! ❤ please do a favorite(s) supply update. As a full time college Fine Arts student, I buy more than I know I need but I’m always thinking “well I might need it later” such a dangerous way to think. I’d love to see your favorites and your go to supplies ❤
Miss Jess, I really like the progression you took starting off with portraiture and then slowly fading into caricature and cartoon style expression’s! I believe Norman Rockwell(my hero) did the same thing although probably didn’t intend to go in that direction lol! Humor in art to me personally is truly a reflection of myself. I just love to make people laugh with my art but most of all, I love to see them smile!
Thanks for sharing your work Jess ..you are an amazing artist..your inspiring words always push me to do more even when i was stuck...your words inspired me a lot ..thanks for sharing..❤❤❤❤
I NEVER draw people and I am really intimidated by it. But this inspired me to try so hopefully in the near future I will be attempting to draw people!
You never cease to amaze me, it's amazing how motivating you are. When I don't know what to do in my art journey, I come back to your channel for inspiration. thank you very, very much.

What a fabulous video! As I said multiple times, your cinnamon topography is perfection. Makes it more like a movie. You are truly an inspiration. I bought some of those jumbo pencils as I’ve never used them before and look forward to trying them out in my sketchbook.
Great video! ❤ I have a habit of drawing all of my lines first, but after watching this I am going to try adding shadows with a blending stump first. It makes more sense to draw faces that way.
Loved this one, Jess. I appreciate the repetition of your process as it helps me to understand how the translate the ideas into my own process. Thank you!
Great Work Jess! (Like always). You are a huge inspiration... THANK YOU! One small request: I wish you would show the reference photo so that I can draw along :) Cheers!

Could you please make a tutorial video on how to draw faces.
You could try a small sketchbook something portable. I have tried it and when I get the urge to draw during errands it's nice to have it with me.
your faces really loosened up near the end and became so emotive!🥰
I really love how you explain your process of breaking things down and letting yourself feel the process. It is very inspiring and so beautiful to see.
