Pretty hard to beat! All the family present, delicious fish, cooked right on the beach, with fresh salad... that feeling of sun, salty air, wholesome food, and the sea breeze 🤪 what more could a man want? Takes me right back...

How do you know when to drop your fishing lines in the ocean? I’m new to owning a boat but the ocean is so big don’t know where to drop to target fish?

Very good question, firstly what part of the world do you live in? and what you need to do is find out what sort of fish are in your area that you want to catch and then talk to people in the fishing shops about what sort of areas you can get them and what sort of water depths. Different fish like different depths generally at different times of the year. Then there is the tides and currents. Then you can look at something like Navionics to find areas that look good at the right depths & pressure points. webapp.navionics.com/#boating@4&key=bdi%5Be%7Cy%7DX

@@saltyseadogs4422 I reside in the Philippines and due to the language barrier very hard to know exactly what they are saying. Plus they don’t use any technology just old fashioned fishing techniques 😆. They use banana boats while I just purchased a tinny. I also sense they don’t want to reveal any of their spots. I will research more about that app you mentioned. From what I’ve seen at the fish market and fish vendors I noticed the same species as you.

If you want to email me which coastal area you are fishing i'll reply to your e mail with some pictures of some area's i'd try if I were there. saltyseadogs4422@gmail.com. Alternatively i'd be looking for the pressure point edge of reefs where the current is hitting (changes with the tides) where all the bait is and try the depth contours where it comes up from deep and try to fish the 60m-55m-50m-45m & 40m contour lines untill you find the fish, use a fish finder to find where the fish are first also and then drop your line. Hope this helps
