- We cruised with the NCL Bliss from Los Angeles / Long Beach / San Pedro to Mexico, including stops in Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, and Cabo san Lucas. While onboard the ship, we tried the dining, saw the shows, and had some great experiences. If you are considering cruising with Norwegian Cruise Line, you'll want to check this video out!

Hello 👋,was just on the ship a week before you. I was actually very disappointed in the specialty restaurants. The food was really good, but the service was lacking. We had went to the barbecue restaurant and all of our barbecue main entrées came out, but we did not receive our side dishes until a half an hour later and we never got our drinks refilled. I actually had to walk up to the bar to order more drinks. We had dinner at Cagney's steakhouse, which was amazing but the service there was lacking as well. I truly believe they're understaffed next time in Puerto Vallarta. Make sure you choose an excursion called Las Caletas. It's the best all day experience with food, and activities included. It's literally like a paradise.
Best travels to you ❤
Wait, what? A new book? This is the first I've heard of it! I thoroughly enjoyed your first book and would definitely buy your new one!!
I found out in 2022 from a senior executive at Celebrity that it is the port authority who is responsible for your check-in not the cruise line. At that time I had complained to her about having to get a COVID test and then no one checked to see my results. We had quite the chat, and I had always assumed it was the cruise line that was responsible for boarding. She said once you are off the ship and on land, it is no longer the ship in charge. So it would be interesting to to see another ship from another cruise line leaving from that same port to see if the issues are the same.
I went on Bliss from San Pedro 2 years ago, and it was exactly the same at the Port. Luckily it was not too hot and everyone was in a nice mood so it was all ok. And that ship was worth the wait!!! ❤
My son and I were on the Bliss in March, 2020. March 8-15th, literally the last cruise out of NYC before the shutdown. Loved the ship, the comedians, and the shows. I thought the ship was beautiful; the whole experience was great, (despite the atmosphere of pending catastrophe in the world outside the ship). I’d sail the Bliss again any day!
We had the same issue last year boarding the Discovery Princess.
I recently sailed out of San Pedro on Navigator of the Seas and we had a much different embarkation experience. We had an 11:30am embarkation time and from dropping off our bags to stepping foot on the ship it was less than 20 minutes. Maybe the Bliss got in late or NCL still hasn't figured it out? I live in Sacramento (Northern California) and the go kart tracks offering a similar experience here range from $26.95 to $35 per race so $15 seems like a steal to me and something I definitely want to do some day. Can't wait to see your vlogs on this ship, thanks for always keeping us informed and entertained!
Thanks for the documentation and all of the pictures of our trip! As I said already in person: i was surprised to bump into you as I never experienced something like that before.
We missed the medical situation in Cabo but recognised that we did navigate a bit strange out of the bay - so now we know the reason!
I do second your opinion about the staffing in the restaurants although we did not visit the mexican one and the Tepanyaki but the Smoke Hpuse and the Steakhouse - same experience! Good food - service was mediocre.
Really looking forward to the next videos as we had a very similiar cabin :-)
Thanks again!
Princess docks at San Pedro. Only Carnival docks at Long Beach. The San Pedro cruise terminal is hit and miss. We've had both good and bad embarkation there.
We did this cruise in March 2024. The best thing we did was book a cabana in the Vibe. Extra cost but so worth it. Had our same cabana for entire week. Very peaceful and relaxing. ❤❤
Great video Morgan thanks for sharing 👍
We experienced a long delay once on Freedom of the Seas… there was an issue with customs…. I think there was a passenger who didn’t check out or something like that preventing clearance to board.
doing my 3rd NCL cruise in 15 months (Panama in less than a week) , and yes, the staff is is thin everywhere. And the upsell is relentless.
I’m doing the transatlantic on the bliss in January. Thanks for these videos
Couldn’t wait to compare your experience with ours in January. Wow totally different. Hey I got to see the comedy club, on our cruise we could never get in , it was always booked out.
Good Morning Morgan
both times I have been to Mazatlan, someone in my family got Montezuma's Revenge. Puerto Vallarta before going back to the ship, I always stop at Walmart to buy tequila.
LMAO two people left behind.
We have started getting a noon or later arrival time to avoid that early push. Avoid the masses of people in the buffet as we have taken time for a nice brunch first. We enjoy walking the Blue Line just like you did - never felt unsafe.
Morgan, you really need to post a warning label on your videos. Eating/drinking & laughing is risky business. I always learn so much from your entertaining videos. Thank you.
In lines like that, I like to attempt to let out a Mooooo on occasion.. lol
When does your book come out?
Seems pretty typical for a teppanyaki restaurant. Was it your first experience with teppanyaki?
And: At the first day for check-in we did arrive short after 12 o clock and the line outside was short and moved very fast. Nothing to write home about.....
Only Carnival cruises from Long Beach. Princess cruises from San Pedro, not Long Beach.
Fyi Broarding process was delayed because the port facility was at maximum capacity per the fire chief. Some had to get on the ship to free up capacity in the facility.
I’ve been on the navigator out of San Pedro 4 times, twice with no wait and twice we waited in line for an hour, I have no clue what the difference was.
NCL is an absolute mess nowadays. My family & I have been sailing with them for 10 years and everything about them (service, food, customer service, etc) has gone down in the past few years. It's not just my opinion; read the recent comments on any post/video about NCL. It's a real shame; we used to really like NCL.
Were you on at the same time as Tony or were you a week ahead of him?
I love the "theater" of the shows like at Teppanyaki but I learned the first time I went to one (Benihana, for my 16th birthday) that it's too much noise and light and color for me. When I live in Asheville, NC, there was a place we could go to and get the food without the show, so I always ended up going there instead, but I haven't found one like that near me now so I just go to a hibachi place.
You've convinced me to try some specialty restaurants on my next cruise. I'm a buffet kind of girl what I've been seeing from these places makes me want to give them a try. I won't wear cut-offs and a tank top, just in case!
Tony boarded the day we left!
@@VeryunOfficialTravelGuides What a shame! But I'm sure y'all will end up on the same cruise again some time.
Was this the Long Beach or San Pedro cruise port? I cruised to Hawaii out of San Pedro on Princess last month and I went from the front door of the terminal to being on the ship in less than 15 minutes.
I have hidden the answer to this question in the beginning of the video ;-)
@@VeryunOfficialTravelGuides 🤣🤣🤣
Similar mess at the Vancouver cruise terminal.
The issue with Vancouver is it's not set up to be a full time cruise terminal. The employees do the best with what they have. Vancouver is my home port
@anakerose Vancouver is my home port too. Considering the 3 billion plus bucks that the cruise season contributes to BC's economy annually, they can surely invest a few million on better facilities and a more organized embarkation process. The place is chaotic when more than two cruise ships at a time are in port.
Love the channel Morgan, but why did you film someone who is in a medical crisis? That is not "cute"
Hey, thanks for sharing your concern. I figured since it is impossible to identify this person, it would be ok? Do you think I should blur it out more, or should I just completely leave it out next time? I think I would also be mad if something happened and then someone made a video of it... but only if you could tell it was me, and only if the entire video was only about THAT. Know what I mean?
@@VeryunOfficialTravelGuidesI think you were far enough away it’s good. People should be able to understand how ERs are handled at sea
San PEEdro. Not the correct Spanish pronounciation as you pronounced it
We experienced a long delay once on Freedom of the Seas… there was an issue with customs…. I think there was a passenger who didn’t check out or something like that preventing clearance to board.
