Calamity is such a garbage card and I'm so sick of every single comment on every single quick effect synchro being "AYO CALAMITY????" The card fucking sucks. Not even Resonators play it.
I always ran Rainbow Neos in my Crystal Beasts even before the new support made it even easier to special summon cards to the field to make Verte. I don't even own Verte cause I keep expecting it to get banned and I don't have the UR for it. xD Whenever I hard drew Neos Fusion it was always so funny to get Rainbow Neos out and just say "Yeah, no" to their field. xD Plus, Neos Fusion gives you a destruction immunity, too, which is even funnier.
I really appreciate how approachable your content is. Despite having watched you for about 6 months now I still don't play Yu-Gi-Oh and you do a great job of still letting me feel like I understand what's going on😅
I lost my sh!t when he was going off telling accesscode that no one wanted his sh!t lmao back to the extra deck with ye. Damn it Joe I love your personality and enthusiasm
CB really needs a good link monster. Something that can actually protect your backrow. Spell/Traps only get you so far. In general I'd like to see more Ultimate Crystal monsters that aren't just Rainbow Dragon.
It’d be interesting if it had some upwards facing Link arrows that became useful when it was treated as a continuous spell - would be a cool mesh of the two mechanics
@@MattAnd that would be a rulings NIGHTMARE, though; it's part of the reason Judgement Arrows hasn't been printed (it's also just busted as hell iirc)
1:42:55 The thing about Sea Stealth is that it can only activate its effects if there's an 'Umi' on the field - at that exact moment, there wasn't anything on their side of the field except SS and Kairyu-Shin. You definitely had them dead to rights with that one.
I have been watching through a bunch of these ladderclimbs o' yours, in whatever order they pop up in my feed on; and I must say, the entuthiasm, your taste in music, and the somewhat absurd visual gags (kudos to the editor) are One Of A Kind lemme tell ya And they called him CRYSTAL JOE, OF THE HARDLEG NEOS
The fact that Crystal Beasts can be considered even slightly a rogue deck (and did far better than some decks that were top tier when CBs were terrible) shows just how far it’s come, and as someone who was a fan of them since GX, I’m going to say I’m proud of them
The vaylantz fields spells are my favorite piece of new crystal beast support. All jokes aside this video was really enjoyable. One of my favorite ladder climbs so far.
Honestly I think the most annoying thing about Tear 0 isn't that they're unbeatable in or anything, just that in order to beat them your deck has to function on a different plane than most decks do, a lot of decks need the graveyard to make plays, but no other deck takes close to as much advantage from the grave as Tear does, that means in order to beat tear with a different deck with any kind of consistency it MUST be able to function under graveyard hate, and there are a lot of great decks that just can't do that. I dusted off my Gravekeepers deck in order to keep playing, but it's really not the deck I'd like to play, but my favorite deck just doesn't heave enough advantage against tear and doesn't function well with the best tools against them. TLDR I don't like that Tear invalidates so many fun decks
This is absolutely true. Even then the decks you can play through the graveyard hate are inherently worse than a normal version of the deck, because you HAVE to play the graveyard hate. The deck itself is far from the worst deck to play against (it’s no Herald Drytron or Runik/Floodgates in terms of it just stops you playing), but it being a tier 0 format just makes it boring, especially when the actual plays it makes are exactly the same just with a different starter card
The problem with using Crystal Beast to showcase Maxx "C" is that both versions of the deck honestly can play through it. The OTK build OTKs, so you'd have to draw into a hand trap that actually does something for it to be relevant there(which they have just as much of a chance at opening or an endboard that does the work for them), and Conclave Control can sometimes be content to sit on 2 Normal Summons or give just 1 draw from a Bagooska that potentially stuffs plays for a turn or 2. It's not like say SPYRAL, which just gets trashed by random draws destroying its intel mechanic and ensuring you accumulate enough cards to stop its end board get drawn, or Swordsoul which uses at least 5 summons to get to a board with 2 monsters and a trap(but at least can usually get to both most of the time).
I don't get the people that are like "outs to Maxx C exist, therefore it doesn't need to be banned". Like, what card is banned that cannot be outed, negated, prevented, etc.? By their logic, Grinder Golem can come back, just open Nibiru, or Ghost Ogre to destroy Akashic Magician so they can't bounce it back, or Effect Veiler to negate the Akashic. Or Mass Driver can come back, just draw Ghost Ogre, or hanewata. Or Mystic Mine can come back, just play more Spell/Trap removal. Spiritualism literally cannot be negated. Or Painful Choice can come back, just draw Shifter, Ash Blossom or the Psyframe that negates spells.
This is why as long as Maxx C is legal, I don’t see why people complain about floodgates. If “just draw the out” is an argument for Maxx C, then it should be even easier for floodgates, seeing as spell/trap removal is far more common
The other problem with the “Maxx C is easy to counter” idea is that it eats up those counters. If I have a single Ash in my opening hand, it’s often not worth the risk of using it on anything else because what if the opponent has Maxx C (and this isn’t a “choice” because Maxx C is too threatening to risk it going off)
Keeping MaxxC legal ensures that the first thing prospective "competitive" players have to acquire is 9 URs. As long as Konami wants money, MaxxC will stay legal. The only thing that will ban it at this point is a boycott.
The fact that Conclave Control is enough to get Crystal Beasts into Diamond territory is a testament to how hard the Spell/Traps carry Crystal Beasts in general. It's cool to see such an old archetype be able to use their more unique gimmick to do somewhat well.
Quite a repeat of win & Defeats, although by suggestion if you ever be given a Rougue deck with a field spell that's Decent or good, that or needing to use the same field spells I would suggest running "Demise of the land" as to get the Field spell out from the deck if you're opponet special summons during their or you're turn, and if thats so the chosen Field spell will be automatically activated on the field, that and also to may use if need be to play "Damage Mage" as to keep you're life points up aswell as an monster on the field to Survive another attack.
2:29:54 if they had sent it by network effect it would miss timing as I found out with cosmic cyclone a few times when they do it when I faced it. The thing is it needed to be on the field prior to activate its effect
I stopped playing master duel because of Maxx c. I'd either open with half my hand being Maxx C counters that did nothing but brick my hand, or none when my opponent activated Maxx C. The amount of times my ash was negated so they're maxx c could go off is innumerable. I got tired of playing around one card or relying on it for a win, so yeah.
Its strange but one of my fav bits of these series is u doing all the hand movements while shouting out ur patreon support, i find it quite amusing lol
If you’re looking for Maxx C evidence, counting interactions like other commenters have said is the best way to go - not just if it resolves, but when either player uses it. Not just number of games but number of uses, so if multiple Maxx C are used each of those uses counts
I like that not only did max c keep combo decks in check, but this here there banlist limiting foolish burial goods helped do so just a little more for future combo enjoyers.
For anyone other maxx c haters. Use the surveys as your best method to tell konami about how you feel about maxx c. You can type anything. Ive done a survey and explicitly only spoke about banning Maxx c whenever i could, constructively. If we constantly do this every time theres a survey konami will HAVE to acknowledge we hate this card and will do something. You can do the survey over if you already submitted
Fun fact, there's an approximately 16.6% chance to open maxx C and have it resolve successfully without your opponent having opened ash or called by. which means that, for the most part, every 1 out of 6 duels is decided by maxx C. Fair and balanced :)
So I watched this yesterday and then today, early morning I saw someone win with Crystal Beasts as I spectated a duel on my XBox Series X. The Crystal Beasts won.
