You would destroy the value of the truck. Why is it the first thing morons always say is "put a Hellcat mowder in 'er!"? What part of "rare, original factory truck" do you not understand? You could take any normal 1978 Dodge stepside and put a 1,000hp engine and a nice paint job on it, why ruin a hard to find, original variant like this? It would be like taking a stock 1968 Camaro ZR1 and doing an LS swap. Stupid.

My dad bought that same exact truck new in 78. He only kept it until 83 when he traded it on a new Ford Ranger. Uhg.
The glove box opens like that because when it opens, it acts as a tray for the passenger.
