1:48 - the ouuuhh, that's the only thing I remember about riding this coaster (aside from the first drop) - it's a killer jolt!
Try the 2nd row on the right on the end two Hills you hurt your leg guaranteed I can approve I went on it 5 times in 1 day 4 times were in the same row
Was an amazing coaster years ago, the last time I went on it I swore never again, it is so rough - well beyond the usual woody roughness.
To be honest I find it to be one of the smoother wooden coasters we have in the UK
@@yourexperienceguide that's interesting, I was last on it probably 8 odd years ago, could well have had maintenance since or I had well worn wheels or something. Always has a special place for me as one of my first coasters.
I went yesterday, sat at the back. Never again extremely painful
@@yourexperienceguide it doesn’t have much competition lol
The roughness is only unbearable when you're at the very back, the roughest makes the experience Way more fun if you're in the front or even middle.
Amazing theme park, been going there since I was a kid and now I’m taking my own kids there. So many memories.
Thank you for watching and commenting
Rode it today for the first time. My kids are now at rollercoaster age so we’ve started going to theme parks with proper rides. I loved it. It felt like a real bone rattling old fashioned roller coaster. We did Wickerman at AT recently and I loved that for the speed exhilaration of the ride but this was just raw. Great fun
Thank you for watching and commenting
impossiblenamechoice i prefer the wicker man to this for the theeming and story and fire it is based of the films where a man is burnt to death in one as a sacrifice
Great ride.
Great On Ride POV of Megafobia
I love that ride
Many do :)
Just went on this today for the first time. Possibly one of the best Coasters in the UK.
It's a classic
Greg Musto its the 3 rd or 4th best wodden one
Love it
Go on stab me but I prefer the grand national on the back or 3rd to back row but it's a lot smoother. Still fantastic. I wish more rides had PTC trains they give me more airtime than melenium flyers
Millenium Flyers are on GCI's which are twisters. They aren't supposed to keep you in with ejector airtime or strong floater. Their designed with laterals in mind.
the first intense and wood coaster i ever been on and its a thrill seeker
Thank you for watching and commenting
I went on there yesterday it was the funnest thing ever
Glad you had fun
I love this ride so much. I was so scared at first but after i rid it like 100 times in one day
Thank you for watching and commenting
This roller coaster was my first coaster. I hated it at first but got on it again to give another try and I went on it on repeat for most of the trip
Same for me!@@ChrissyTheMusicFreak
I went to Oakwood yesterday is was amazing 🎉😂
Very strange one, I blacked out on this ride when I was 11(20 years ago)! Went down the first drop, blacked out a few seconds later and came back round for the last 1oish seconds. Nice to see what the rest of the ride is like!
This sort of thing started happening regularly and turned out I had (or have) a heart condition, all under control with meds these days though!
Thank you for watching and commenting
Joe Bligh imagine if you rode El Toro 🤣🤣🤣
Joe Bligh El Toro with Kingaar behind is a roller coaster peace of art and is even on an art gallery in uptown new York city
Went on it 3 times yesterday. On the 3rd time half way up the vertical bit at the very start, it broke and we were stuck half way up. We had to wait about 8 mins for engineers to fix it then we finished the ride. I wouldve gone back on but it was closing time
Thank you for watching and commenting
@@yourexperienceguide I meant to put this on speed vidoe sorry!
I went on that and it scared the life out of me. Super fun though definitely recommend if you go there
Also It is WAY faster irl than on video
We didn't film this in slow mo lol, so the video shows the speed of it when we went on it :)
@@yourexperienceguide ok
DarthLevi you have not been on El toro the Voyidge Gost rider Mystic Timbers Lighning rod lol
DarthLevi those wodden rollercoasters are in te states depending on you knowlige or roller coasters you may or may not have heard of them
@@timothywait9457 I've never been out my country
Looks rough, but people say the UK doesn't have a coaster that focuses on airtime, and this looks like one!
Thank you for watching and commenting, happy new year
I went on that last week with school and I screamed and cried the whole way🤣
Tomos Jones I'm a big fan myself but I respect your opinion
Dang, that looks like a bumpy ride!
Thank you for watching and commenting
Best woodie in the world!
Can’t agree
@@yourexperienceguide 'one of the best' then! 🙄😏
RMC needs to give this ride some life
Gravity Group have retracked it
Something like This would be great at Blackpool
Agreed! But I think a flying coaster will probably be next on Blackpool’s list.
@@sonicsupersam7793 interesting suggestion
@@sonicsupersam7793 That's incredibly unlikely and clearly not a well thought through suggestion.
@@crashcoaster3852 you’re in no right to say whether something is not well thought through, if you don’t agree just say you dont agree dont insult smh
@@tumi_1 I mean... It's the internet I can say what I want. 😂
That certainly looks a classic woody......
a good family wooden roller coaster it is not on my top 30 wooden roller coasters of cause but its a simple fun little coaster not el toro or voyage or ghost rider but still fun
Thank you for watching and commenting
My top 3 woodies
1 megaphobia
2 wickerman
3 cu chulainn (forget how you spell it. The one at Taytopark)
Thank you for watching and commenting
Currently about 20 people ahead of you for the wickerman ride at alton towers 🤣
Wiker man is better in my opinion
I remember this
Thank you for watching and commenting
It does look reasonably decent. Looks far from CCI's best though, honestly. It's absolutely no Boulder Dash but definitely looks better than Blackpool's woodies. I honestly think Stampida looks better than this layout-wise (especially with the re-tracking its had) and duelling factor. Although Stampida's trains are shite.
The momentum is fantastic, it goes over the hills with speed, and the laterals are comparable to Legend and Silver Comet, its one of the better CCI's in my book (but you have to like lats). That being said its no Shivering Timbers or Boulder Dash but its still great.
Dragon Mountain Fanboy laterals are my favourite force on rides. I've only done Oakwood and Folly Farm as well as a few travelling fairs. My favourite roller coaster is Megafobia and my favourite flat is Rock N' Roll Waltzer in Folly Farm. That waltzer is very forceful
I dont know why but when i rode it in 2009 i never thought it was anything special and i rode it several times. BPB woodies are better imo
Is this or Rampage better? Megapboia is the last CCi in the world i need to ride
Ihatethoosies the Rampage
I went on this and I literally crapped myself at the drop 😭😂😂
It's a great first drop :)
Paige Griffiths imagine if you went on El toro ?
@@timothywait9457 what’s that?
@@paigegriffiths6096 a very tall and intense wooden roller coaster in Six Flags Great Adventure New Jersey
@@timothywait9457 oop no thank you 😂😭
Does this ride have good airtime?
Most of them are floater.
Yes
Can I use this for a video?
Thunder Thrills No sorry, thank you for asking
@@yourexperienceguide Alright, have a nice day.
I think speed no limits was actually slower!
This one seems so long for how small in height it is. God bless CCI
Packed with airtime
I don’t like rollercoasters but I think a Jurassic world ride would be so cool at oakwood
They have Jurassic Park themed rides in Universal parks
@@yourexperienceguide yes Ik but they are too thrilling I would want a carousel or a slow moving outside ride
Wasn't this coaster in rct2?
Vibe check

I was on that very coaster just a few hours ago. I ended up putting my arm around my mum's neck and almost accidentally choked her while I sang Help! by the Beatles to calm my nerves!

Watching cause I’m trying to recreate this in planet coaster 😂
Good luck with it :)
@@yourexperienceguide it ended up okay, still haven’t fixed a rollback yet 😂 making wicker man next
I went on megaphobia with my cousins
And I never have been on one before my face was o.o

RMC megafobia is the dream
No way, it doesn't need to be touched at all.

I Think This Should Be RMC'D
Not a chance after spending £4m on a refurb last year
Oh, I didn't Know That.
Yeah There is no chance.
Busman no it should not nor should Thunda De Zues at Park Asteric or the Boss at Six Flags Laint Lewis lots of good wodden ones do not need to be RMC just because some people find them a bit rough and nor should the Grand National
rode this coaster for the first time last week and ive got to say... I really didn't like it! for me personally it was unbearably rough and completely overrated... much preferred speed.
This comment is me, everyone raves about this woodie and I prefer speed, it was rough and uncomfortable
We don’t have an RMC yet anyone want to RMC this one
Honestly I’d rather they didn’t
A Gravity Group retrack (pre-cut) anyone?
Here’s an idea.....
RMC Megafobia.
Matt i knew you would bring RMC into it
timothy wait never actually ridden the normal Megafobia, but just thought it’d be cool for Wales to have the first RMC in the UK 🤷🏻♂️😂
Nah
I think i like wiker man more
Me too these days
Good grief, looks like it’s falling to bits 😱😬
It’s not
overrated tbh
