Top tier ride. No loops, no corkscrews, and it never needed them. It's magic from start to finish.

this is a favorite ride of mine, not because of how fun it is, but my daughter rode this with me and i swear nothing beats looking over and seeing the joy on their face.
Absolutely! A memory you can never forget.
Yep
@@juniperbliss agreed.
Yes I loved the ride but it was a bit too much for me because I was new to rollercoasters. In the end I wish I had not passed out during 50% of the ride and kept my eyes closed through out the ride.

The one thing I love about this and velocicoaster is how smooth they are
@@iamhooman7522 MACK, Gerstlauer and Rocky Mountain are all very smooth
@@lusat5921 Gerstlauer is notorious for it's rough euro-fighters. Not even comparable.
@@kryn1030 Yes I know the older ones are a bit rough, but the new roller coasters from Gerstlauer are very smooth. But that is with very many older roller coasters that they are a bit harder. But the new ones are all top and soft to ride imo.
I rode Fury in Bobbejaanland and Gold Rush in Slaghaaren, which are both from Gerstlauer, they were really buttery smooth (if you say it that way in English xD)
But I also rode Typhoon in Bobbejaanland and that was quiet a trip

Just got off this ride about an hour ago. It’s fantastic, but it's MUCH faster and more intense than the video makes it seem. do not miss this ride
It's even faster? It already looks like rocket speed in this video! 😯
For sure! Lol it actually shocked me! Awesome ride!
I rode it two time, one during day and one during nighttime, it’s AN AMAZING RIDE
@@TCTCyouis it cool at night time?
I agree!! It’s wayyyy more intense than it looks on this video. I really wanted to love it but I would not ride it again. 😅
The single best family coaster EVER created. It’s punchy and well-themed enough for coaster enthusiasts to love it while being just tame enough for most daring kids
The music from these movies are just so iconic, really gives the ride life

This is maybe my favorite roller coaster ever - no huge drops or hanging upside down. It’s smooth, the launches feel incredible. And it’s fun. The only part that made my stomach drop was the drop in the cave. Love this rollercoaster - great for anyone who doesn’t like that falling feeling
I think velocicoaster is definitely better
@@itsaaron4814 again I said for anyone who doesn’t like drops. Velocicoaster is scary in my opinion for people who get nervous on coasters
@@hill0344 I have always been very nervous of roller coasters, but riding the hulk kinda eased it, but then this one I was very nervous for, but it was incredible and I freaking loved it
i dont like drops so i want to ride this, but ive never gone backwards on a coaster before so im nervous for that ...
@@lwebster7100The backwards part isn’t scary and it doesn’t feel uncomfortable or anything like that so you don’t have to worry about
This ride feels much faster than it shows here, actually rather intense
Your right. I'm at universal and rode it yesterday
Just rode it. A ton faster than the video shows but still a long ride as well. Very fun 10/10
Yeahh, it feels way faster
Brutal acceleration
omg yes and this was my first ever rollar coaster it was terrifying but so fun
I have the BIGGEST fear of roller coasters, it's honestly kinda pathetic, but my family convinced me to go on this ride since im such a huge harry potter fan, and I LOVED IT SO MUCH. We rode it multiple times since then and the little drop from the devil's snare still scares me a tiny bit, but my fear has definitely gotten better since riding this.
I’m terrified of roller coasters. Well, more so the drop. I don’t mind the feeling like I’m going to die, I just don’t like that stomach dropping feeling. Regardless, my school (my grade, I should say, and the music classes, not the whole grade) went there for a field trip/celebration/congratulations for continuing this far. A few of my friends really wanted to go on this ride. I say “sure, why not” however I grab my phone and start watching this video. Everyone is telling me to hurry up, and I watch to the backwards portion. I then say “Oh so you go backwards for the rest of the ride” (you don’t). A friend who had been on it many times said that there was a “surprise drop” and said it wasn’t steep of fast or long. “Ok” and we continue waiting in line (he told me this in line). Well, we come to a stop after going backwards. I shout at him “IS IT DONE?” He yells “Hold on a moment!” Like clockwork, the floor gave out. I thought I died, then I look to see him grinning. Anyways, loved it so much that, day 2, we immediately go straight to it. Anyways, we get to that drop and I start mumbling under my breath, “Drop drop drop.” Still scared the hell out of me. Best ride I’ve ever been on, no doubt.
I watch POVs of the biggest roller coasters. They look like fun, but I know I would hate it. I can go upside down, I can go really fast, but straight down, or even 75° or further, is a no-go
@@sportsloverbaseballsame here
How big is the drop? Splash mountain or less ?
@@slothiesmithie 17 ft. The splash mountain drop is 52.5 feet.
As a Harry Potter fan this was soo much fun and unforgetable experience. I was there 2 weeks ago and it was the best day of my life, I can't wait to come back again soon
Fr this ride is amazing
if anyone is scared of big drops or going backwards like me don’t be this ride is the best ride I’ve been on in my life you don’t even feel the drops because of how smooth it is and just how excited you are. hope everyone has fun ! (PRO TIP! : get there as early as possible we went there right when it opened and still waited 2h.)
Thats me too and was my first coaster i never shut my eyes and even put my arms up by the end on my first time. I was grinning and cheering and even yelled once “THIS IS AMAZING!” And “I LOVE THIS!” The ride gets me almost emotional in a happy way because it was just so fun! And my brother rode with me, it was definitely an amazing experience
Thank you for this comment. I HATE drops and I've been debating this and I'm going in two days. Would you say the drop is similar to rise the resistance at Disney?
@@jessicamartinez5117 your welcome, have fun! I went on Tuesday! Oki so drop wise, i haven’t been on Rise of the resistance. But it’s basically like Cosmic Rewind but it goes 10mph slower. This and Velocicoaster are my all time favorite theme park rides. So smooth, so fast, so long, and they are run really efficiently so the lines usually go pretty quick.
Hagrids is very technically complex, so I’ve heard it usually breaks down, but what do I know I’m from California.
@@dodgersfan8561 it used to when it first opened, but it doesn't any more than any other ride now! They really tightened it up
I recently visited and I had no problems with delays. I queued up when it was advertised as 160 Minutes, ended up being 85. Amazing ride and 100% worth it even with a long wait time,
Lol the time I went in that ride the line was like 2 hours
I can’t say I timed it, but as fun as this ride was, I swear I must’ve waited nearly 3 hours to get on. 😅
Great coaster for anyone who is scared of them, such as myself. This was the first roller-coaster I have been on since the start of my fear when I was very little. I was shaking and nauseous through the whole line, but by the end, I immediately got back in line to do it again. If you're like me, take the motorcycle spot instead of the side car. That familiar position gives the illusion of control and did wonders to calm my nerves.
I can 100% confirm this. It worked for me on the Tron roller coaster in the Disney park too 😁
Favorite ride hands down! I'd make the 10 1/2 hour trip from my house to ride just this one. Seriously.
and than wait 10 1/2 hours in line
@@donoakes85 when did you go? When I went in October 2021, it was at a constant 30 minute wait all day
Then what are ya waiting for

Velocicoaster is better
Rode this for the first time this week. Front row on the bike. OMG it was amazing!! Wasn’t ready for the backwards or the drop. One of the best rides in the park.
Me too 😂 I rode blind… I wasn’t ready!!
I want to ride this but I'm so scared of both of those things 😭 I don't really like rides at all, especially roller-coasters (although I have ridden some big ones - it's really just that big drop I can't stomach!)
@@LE-sx3or the drop really isn’t that bad. It feels exactly like the one on rise of the resistance, very unexpected the first time you ride but it’s so sudden and quick that it’s over before you even realize what happened. And the backwards part is less intense if you’re sitting near the back of the train. I rode this three times in one day, and definitely felt the backwards drop a lot more when I was sitting in the front. Which makes sense because the front car covers more track on the 70-degree spike. I have no idea if that helps at all, but I swear this ride is worth riding at least once!
"There's no Hogwarts without you Hagrid"🙏🏾
This hits different 😢
This ride helped me conquer my fear of roller coasters I discovered when I went to Universal around Christmas. Before it we rode Velocicoaster and I was crouching in my seat and screaming like a baby, unlike the rest of my family. They were shocked. They thought I was gonna be the bravest when really, I chickened out more than anyone. When we were in the queue for this ride, my mum embraced me countless times, telling me everything’s gonna be ok, I’m brave, and I inspired her to get over HER fear. She said if she could do it, so could I. My dad assured me that nobody was going to die, and if I could survive Velocicoaster this should be no biggie. When I got on, this time my brother was petrified and occasionally shrieking while I sat upright, cool and calm, feeling the rolling turns as the wind flew past my face. My whole family were so proud in that moment. I’ll never forget this spectacular experience.
This ride helped me get over my fear too! It’s the best! I also do love the velocicoaster so much both of these are my favorites. I found that if I don’t tense up and let go the ride is significantly more enjoyable! Congrats!
Realistically speaking, most people are just fearful of the unexpected, and the very, very, very x1million small chance that you might actually die from a malfunctioning coaster. People aren't typically scared when flying on an airplane.
Once you get past that, you kind of lose the spectacle of riding roller coasters, but you end up loving the first time you ride any unexpected coaster like this one.
i love this ride SO MUCH. if youre someone who is picky with roller coasters and dont like high drops/upside down loops, YOU WILL LOVE THIS!! its very fast too. me and brother got off the ride saying “this is my new favorite”. i’ve experienced it at night, day, in the front, back, and middle. it was amazing every time! i rode it 3 times in 2 days lol
I have severe epilepsy and my boyfriend helped me ride this; it was my first roller coaster ever and I had the time of my life ❤❤❤
ALSO as a precaution I don’t recommend this for people with epilepsy; I managed somehow, but I feel like it was taking a HUGE chance on my part
This is by far the best roller coaster I’ve ever been on! I love how smooth it is, and how it makes you feel like you’re in the movie. Not only that but you actually feel like you’re out in nature while on the ride, which I love. Also it’s the only roller coaster I’ve been on where the track opens up and the whole coaster just drops. It was so unexpected and awesome! I would honestly go back to universal just for that ride if I could.
there's another ride that does it called verboten in Busch's garden Pennsylvania
My brother and I were fortunate enough to get front row seats of this coaster at night and it actually felt like driving a flying motorcycle. I don't think it would've felt the same if we got any other seat. It was such an amazing feeling that it honestly tears me up
Agreed driving the motorcycle was sick especially at night it was the first coaster I had my eyes open 100% of the time and was smiling ear to ear. With how much I loved Harry Potter growing up it definitely made me emotional as well. One of my best experiences ever
In person, that drop at 2:10 made my heart stop. Lol!!! So awesome!
Rest in love Robbie Coltrane
Great coaster, completely different experience on the bike than in the sidecar.
how are they different? I have a fear of roller coasters that I want to get over, so curious to know.
@@mayganphynix8267 the sidecar your basically just riding or feel like your riding. When you're on the motorcycle side it feels more like your driving the motorcycle. You'd probably be best to start on the sidecar if you ride.
@@shomemo2 yea and the feeling on those bank turns on the motorcycle is amazing. You can lean into the turn which makes it feel even more like you are actually driving
@@duck323 especially if you get the front row. I got front row bike seat on my first ride, and it was amazing. It felt like I was the only one out there since I didn’t see the other riders behind me
Rode this ride in spring and can honestly say it was one of the best rollercoaster experiences ever. We waited in line for about two and a half hours but Universal does a great job keeping the lines interesting to wait in. The ride itself is smooth and very immersive with the story - it's also much more exciting than the video shows. The straight drop down and the "we're out of power" bit were the most fun to me, but the entire ride flew by.
The motors that go "VROOOOOOOOOOOO" during launch mode are literally something else. Something like I have never experienced before.
If you had told me before I rode this that a roller coaster could be great without any inversion or an awesome drop or even good air time I would have said you were high... It's amazing what they've done with this ride, just amazing!!!
I should of watched it before going on it, it was my favorite ride but. Where it ran out of gas when it accelerated for the first time. I hate when rides go backwards but this wasn’t terrible.
How scary was that drop backwards?
@@Msdramaticcreations it really isn’t that scary, and your only there for a little bit
You're absolutely right about that. I rode Verbolten at Busch Gardens Williamsburg and coming into it I was like eh what kind of coaster is this going to be, no inversions and it's not super tall, boy was I wrong it has become my most favorite roller coaster.
Me and my bf are going this weekend,he’s so scared of roller coasters I hope I can get him on this! 😂
when i say i was lucky enough to experience this video first-hand, it is so surreal to literally be in the front of this amazing ride. i was on the motorbike and my friend (who had never ridden a roller coaster before) was in the cart, this was the last day of our school/band trip, and it was so worth it. we had so much fun, and i am begging our director to take us again, soon.
This ride is amazing. From the music to the smoothness. And I love how you have to watch or read the Harry Potter seris to know what he's actually talking about! It is has been my favvorite ride for a long time
We just got back from Universal. We rode this three times in two days. Here’s some helpful tips:
-The best time to ride this would be at park opening. Get to the gates by six. Most early riders will be there as well. When the gates open, people start running towards it. The park has done something to deal with this. They set out three ropes to slow down the runners. If you are in the front of the line at the gate, and you walk briskly instead of running, you will either make it inside the building, or the two lines close to it. The ride time says it opens at 9:00 am, but the ride is running as soon as park opening, due to the massive interest in the ride.
We rode it 17 minutes after park opening. By the time we were out, we would have been able to get back in line with no effort. By 8:00, the line was all the way past the train.
-If you can, don’t bring anything that would require a locker. Lockers hinder your ability to get directly in line. I absolutely hate lockers, so I don’t bring anything until after I’ve ridden this ride and Velocicoaster (btw you should just wait until you’ve ridden this ride, instead of going to Velocicoaster first, because despite what you’ve been told, the lines at the other ride are faster).
-We rode Hagrid’s a second time in the afternoon. We found out that, just like the other Potter rides, there’s an introduction room, with one of the holographic scenes in a garage. I believe they avoid this encounter due to the sheer number of riders and long lines, so this was a welcome surprise, seeing as how we managed to get my youngest nephew on the ride.
-You’ll want to get first seat, on the motorbike part itself. Cant even describe how awesome it is.
Hope these tips help! You will love this ride!
As awesome as front row is, I do just want to point out you’re not allowed to wait for the front row on this ride. Just got done with a 3 day Universal trip and they make multiple announcements in the queue saying requests won’t be accommodated. Sadly, you just have to get lucky :/
get to the gate at 6 to wait 3 hours so you dont have to wait 90 min during the day lol
I went on a Monday & Tuesday in the middle of January and only waited an hour each time.
I did both bike and side cart. Twice cart but then i stepped up a notch and my brother encouraged me to try the bike. Let me tell you its an absolutely amazing feeling. Like many say words can’t describe it. I also was lucky enough to get front row my first time on Mummy yesterday. Both rides are now my top favorites. Hagrids is so smooth and the drops aren’t massive (or if they are they feel so smooth you can’t tell). Definitely ride this to everyone who can, its a blast! 😁
i rode this 2 times in 1 day
One of my favourite rides at universal. I was laughing throughout most of it. More intense than I thought it would be, I loved it when it went really fast. Anyone going to universal this ride is a must! You won’t regret it. One of the best and most fun rides I’ve ever been on actually.
This is seriously the best onboard audio on a roller coaster period. Even better when you're really on the ride. It's so magical
This is a great first coaster! It introduces you to the speed, the heights, and many more
I went on this yesterday and it’s way faster than what’s shown in the video. It’s sorta smooth. If you can handle being tilted to the point where u feel like ur gonna fall off and extreme speed, this is for u. The talking can get a little annoying at times but other than that, rlly fun! Don’t underestimate this coaster, it’s rlly amazing! Highly recommend this!
I love the narration but thats my opinion. I love Hagrid so thats likely why. I rode this three times in two days and could easily ride and get off and ride and over and over again. Its so fast, smooth, and the curves are thrilling for me. The bike seat is likely my favorite (i tried both cart and bike) the bike its easier to lean into the curves to make it easier. The speed though is by far my favorite element

Absolutely love this ride, i was laughing and smiling the entire ride as a 25 year old guy it was tons of fun it isnt as intense as hulk or riptide rockit but more intense than the mummy ride and the harry potter dark ride. I would have rode it 20 times if i could. The track being so long with the steep twists and turns it had multiple high speed launches, a drop, you go in reverse and the narration is beautifully spoken and the music fits well, the coaster also goes through the castle and near the pond i rode in the side car which was fun but riding in the bike would have been more fun as you feel as if you are really driving the coaster.

Finally got to ride it last week and it was awesome! Can't wait to go back in less than 2 months.
2:01 on this part of the ride, it had a malfunction when i first rode it, everything was pitch black and there was a distant tone of machinery humming that started high pitched but slowly got deeper as you just stood there for like 40 seconds straight, and when it came back online the track dropped, and that time in the dark made it 10x as scary from how tense i was
I LOVE THIS RIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!! (but the series even more)
This was the first and my favorite ride i went on last year. It was amazing. I loved it so much. I thought I was going to be more scared but honestly I had a blast on it. It was so magical. Never get rid of it please
I love this ride. It was so smooth and it is so much faster in real life.
I miss this so much
I’m scared of roller coasters. My friends convinced me to get on this and of course, I ended up getting the VERY front seat. When the ride got to the top at 1:32 … I was in the front seat, mind you … I thought I was having a heart attack lol. It’s a fun ride. But it’s really intense. Really fast. Will never do it again 😭😂
Hey there, I just went yesterday. My youngest son,25, has repeatedly asked me to ride this with him. I never have and said I would yesterday. OMG!!! I too was in the front row on a motorcycle. I was good till I got to the spot with Hagrid & maybe a scorpion then I closed my eyes. When we got to that? I think it was 1:32? same as you, he excitably said,” Mom, open your eyes!” I did and if I was ever going to die of being scared to death it would have been then. I was tariffed!!! I closed my eyes so tightly & so fast & gripped those handle bars like my life depended on it. Finally what seemed like an hour was probably 2 minutes.
When I was a kid my family went to Six Flags over Georgia. I think that is what it is called. I had never ridden a roller coaster before and this was the first one. I also sat in the front row and it was the biggest one at the time. After that I Never wanted to ride one again. Kids… the things we do for them. 💕
this was my first rollercoaster ive ever ridden, and i got the very back seat, and oh boy am i scared of literally everything now.

I was definitely in the mood to see a new pov of this ride, AND U GRANTED MY WISH! :D I can’t get over this ride even if I tried
Only three words come to mind when I think about this ride... Best Ride Ever! The night ride is incomparable....
I managed to get front row on my first ever ride of this and it was awesome. Since I was on the "bike" I could lean into the curves like a real bike and it made the ride so much cooler. The only bad part of the front row is you don't get to see AS much of the devil's snare area.
The wait was worth it!! Me and the lady next to me didn’t know to scream yell cry or what 😂😂 definitely the best ride I’ve ever been on!
This, forbidden journey and escape frm gringotts are really fantastic rides.. We went during thanksgiving week and had so much.. Best trip ever.. Unfortunately we lost all our pics because the phone died on us on return flight...Luckily we took a souvenir photo from Hagrids ride.. Best souvenier everrr..❤

Let me tell u, this is completely different in terms of intensity from actually being there. It was wayy more intense than i thought 😂😂
Same with the velocicoaster, which I recommend to ride afterwards ;)
wanted to ride this so badly but after nearly 3 hours into the queue it broke down when i reached the end
Why did Hagrid say when he went to Dairy Queen?
“Do you want a blizzard, Harry?”
😆
Best ride hands down!! Harry Potter rides did not disappoint.
Rest In Peace , Robbie ❤
Just rode this ride for the first time with my daughter! I adored sharing this memory with her! We had a great time.
I was not expecting this ride to go as fast it did
I love this ride. One of the first times me and my friend went on it, it broke down for a few minutes, and turned into a mini tower of terror. We broke down right at the point where you’re entangled in the devil snare, right before it drops you for the final race on the ride. The ride literally halted right before the drop, best thing ever.
I was really impressed with ride! Love how super fast it was and that surprise drop 😄
This ride can only be described as absolute 100% pure fun. Best coaster experience I’ve ever had. Velocicoaster was also super fun but I think this coaster has just a tad better ride experience.
the ride was great 10/10 but the wait time is insane.
I agree. The line is very long
Just got this experience Tuesday! Loved front ride
I really expected a kiddy coaster when I was going in. Completely blown away
Me too 😂
tip for anyone riding this,if u like inversions like the left to right ones on this coaster,RIDE IN THE SIDE CART it’s so much better
I love intense roller coasters, Im just so scared of the heights :( so this is my favorite one! It left me breathless and I never had to worry about 100 feet 80 degree drop
This and Velocicoaster are two of the best rides I have ever been on. Bravo Universal, you continue to crush it!
cedar point...and iron gwazi
Honestly I didn’t even know that drop was coming
