Have had this SUV for 2 years now, it’s been really good... interior is very good, has that Executive feel to it. No issues just regular maintenance so far, it takes 5W30 oil but you can upgrade to 0W30 if you are in a cold climate. Great performance overall
They need to update it. It still resembles the 2011 Hyundai sonata on the inside and 2015 sonata on the outside. If they are going to change the corporate face then change them all
that trunk is actually keyless entry. you walk up to it and it beeps a total of three times to confirm you need trunk access and then it opens for you. If beeps once to acknowledge you, twice to set itself to open and if you walk away, it stops but if you liner, it confirms you want in the trunk and opens for you.
$30 - 39,500... new. They are getting increasingly hard to find both new & used because the Pallisade is coming out I guess....but on June 1st 2019 I bought a used 2018 XL SE w/ Ultimate Package for $25, 400... incidentally, that RED is SO CAPTIVATING. I almost bought an Elantra because I was sooo in love with that color RED
This car will never get the recognition that the highlander or traverse gets, yet I’d say it can compete and sometimes exceed most of the the legacy mid sizers.
CARS AT 100, just based from my experience driving this (2017 MY) back in July for approx 2wks and 3K Kms...handling wasn't good driving in corners and didn't inspire any confidence. To me the suspension wasn't good either as it was jarring every time I hit some bumps/potholes. But for the features and value for money then this is a good vehicle...
FWIW... Dave, don't know how you were able to drive the Santa Fe MpG number into the toilet. I have a 2017 AWD SE "Ultimate" and I routinely achieve much greater than 21 MpG overall number. My highway economy is 24-25 MpG so long as I keep it under 70 MpH. Otherwise, it's a very nice long-haul cruiser. Yup, it's boring with respect to vehicle dynamics but there is more than enough other content to compensate. The lighting system is awesome making nighttime driving a pleasure; hope you had a chance to "see" for yourself. Brakes were a pleasant surprise as well as the "emergency assist" braking feature which saved my fat ass last week when one of our Massachusetts black bears ran across the road in front of me. The Santa Fe was not my first choice when I started shopping for the replacement of my 2010 Ford (Eco-boost) AWD Flex last winter. It quickly rose to the top, however, after test drives in similar sized / configured vehicles. There were just no competitors offering the complete combination of quality build, bang-4-the-buck and just overall vehicle characteristics at this price point.
Tom, Thanks for that. We average 23 mixed, 27 highway w/ 2007 fwd Santa Fe. Looks like all the extra weight takes it's toll. The 3.3 is a very good engine. 2.4 is OK but has to wind up.
Am I the only one that dislike dat chubby steering wheel? If Hyundai makes it like a Mazda's current steering wheel, would be amazing! Anyways, I appreciate your reviews! Keep it up Dave!
Dont roll that SUV over because with a glass roof who knows what will come in through that glass. Your guess is as good as mine. Stump, rocks, I have seen things go through like traffic lights and transformer.
Their no suppose to shatter. Their suppose to be like a windshield and just crack and give away once the structure collapses. I had a 2016 sonata limited with a panoramic sunroof . I was Tboned and when it flipped, My Sun roof didn't shatter it cracked and popped out.
diana ds I love the 2015, sorry about the two month delay I never received the notification. It handles well, large interior, large cargo space, and about 402 mile range on eco. It has the Sonata V4 engine which about 195 horsepower which is not bad. I get about 24 mpg mix driving which is good considering the size of the vehicle. No major repairs, just the usual maintenance in the 3 years since I've own the vehicle. I got $25K brand new for the option 2 package with navigation, rear camera, heated seats, and the 4 inch touch screen.
We have that vouge knitting magazine here at work lol. Anyway nice for the crash test scores ... and everyone keeps saying they need to redesign it. The redesign is coming soon
Hey mam what would you think this vehicle for a family of 5 with one on the way..is it good cargo area with all the seats up..f9r baby stuff and etc cargo
I'm sure they're gonna release a new Santa Fe soon, the oldest model in their lineup now after the Azera which will be discontinued for the North American market unfortunately.
@@robertduklus6555 You would think Highway mpg would be a little better like the V6 Highlander, but yeah your city mpg is good. Just curious if you use premium gas or regular?
@@rkgsd regular gas. my city driving mpg is in low traffic, no traffic lights etc , i live in a small town. 19 mpg should be thought of as mixed fuel economy as same driving include longer stretches of 7-10 miles at 50 mph. Even with the fuel economy shortcomings I am still happy with my SF which I own since new, 2015, other than awd coupler I had no other issues.
@@rkgsd one more thing re highlander. 15-16 highlanders with 6 speed auto are rated 24 mpg highway and SF is 25 mpg. As of 2017 Highlander got new 8 speed and increased rating of 27 mpg. Santa fe remained with the same drivetrain i=until discontinued in 2019, i suppose this accounts for most of the fe difference
Turbo doesn't save you fuel neither, they are on the santa fe sports. But the 2.4 on the santa fe sports are more fuel efficient than the 2.0 turbo. On the other hand 15 mpg is equivalent to V8 Toyota sequoia so is not good at all.
Yup. Seen both the cx-9 and q5 right next to each other at a red light on the opposite side of the road and couldn't take my eyes off the mazda. Looked very upscale. Audi didn't look bad at all, but it wasn't anything striking (same subtle clean front and shape) so it looked subdued next to the new modern looking front end and shape of mazda. Almost the same feeling I get when I see the new xc-90 or s90..they look very slick and modern.

Really like your reviews.. but if you'll add the lights of the car in and out at night.. it will be much better and appreciated.. thanks.

MPG sucks and those headlights built in the bumper is a stupid idea
Saw one of these in real person the other day and it looked so nice and elegant. Still looks good even though it's an old design.
as soon as I saw you showing off that knitting magazine I had no choice except to like the video lol
this is the exact one my mother has AND I LOVE IT
I got this bad boy, got my money's worth plus more I love it!!! Can't wait for the redesign for the 2019...
Paolo Espineli how do you feel about it?
What's the trim?
I have one..damn nice car, esp on long trips. Uses a lot of gas but the comfort and reliability is amazing

The Tom Hanks movie trivia was unexpected, yet appreciated.
How about now?
i love this guy :) .. he is so cool .. greeting from your fans in indonesia
Is it fun to drive

back in the days Hyundais were made out of plastic, not sure what they use for the material this time i mean exterior parts
Great car, like the color, how is the handling on the corners?

for a 9 minute video, this is pretty well edited.
hahah your reviews are really nice and with nice sense of humor
It worked! So easy. Thank you for sharing!

Hey Dave, Can you do a video on a 2017 or 2018 Dodge Durango RT?
Looks good! I have the 2015 model but will probably will upgrade either 2019 or in 2020.
The Ford Explorer is the next SUV I want, but the Sante Fe is 2nd on my list for 2019/20.
How’s the 2015 Santa Fe is it a good vehicle? Any issues?

I took myself hyundai santa fe. 3.3 ultimate 2017 the only thing that does not happen is it's a very rigid suspension
Beautiful Red!!!! Very nice and appealing looking SUV!👍

How much does it cost(full price and also monthly payments)??
😊Notification squad
Do the 2018 Hyandia Santa fe sport models have moonroofs?
Never saw you get in third row. Did I miss it or did you forget it?
jamminjack99 If it’s not the video then I didn’t do it. I have to leave something for you to test if you’re really interested in the car.
I love to watch your videos. They are great.
Do you happen to know the wheel dimension of it?
You are a cool kid, two different kind of shoes on, smart ....
Lock AWD system for Off-Road?. 🤔
This one is 7 seats??
6
Great looking outside, but they need to do away with that interior...
More of the same amazing suv with good warranty and engine. But same old design. What's up with that Hyundai
I'm sure they're gonna release a new Santa Fe soon, the oldest model in their lineup now after the Azera which will be discontinued for the North American market unfortunately.
(Turbo) engine?.
15mpg? I see why they've now gone with a 2.0 turbo.
i get 19 mpg no heavy stop and go traffic, highway 25 mpg. Its not a fuel saver but will outlast the turbo 4 sure

8" screen driver brother!
Sorry about that, thanks for the correction.
Try sport mode in combination with Shiftronic... Wow!
I waiting next year (Next Gen model) over 200hp twin turbo CRDi engine!.
Alright alright alright
Mazda cx-9 is the best
Agree. It just looks more luxurious inside and out. The Santa Fe whilst practical with a moon roof, the interior looks cheap by comparison.

Damn their interior is still the same since forever.
Can you share the calves routine? Sheeeeeeesh 💪

Wicked color combo
Were you just brought out of suspended-animation and now find you have a strong desire to knit?
Yes.

Nice!

NO BODY INCLUDING YOU SHOWS HOW TO GET TO 3RD ROW , MUST BE A PROBLEM.THEY WILL NOT SHOW. !!!!
