God I just love her. She has such a soothing voice. If she wasn’t ever an actress, she would have been an amazing psychologist or therapist. But I’m glad she’s an actress!!! I just am shocked she doesn’t have a larger body of work especially after winning an Oscar so early in her career. I am also glad James Caan played the role. I think he was perfect and just don’t think I could see Warren Beatty in it.
Larger body of work ? She's got over 100 films under her belt.. also directing aswell. She's won 2 golden globes..2 emmys...2 sag awards.. an Obie and numerous other awards and of course and Oscar. Her body of work is tremendous. She's incredible

Kathy won a much deserved Oscar for this performance but I've always been mystified why Glenn Close didn't win for Fatal Attraction, particularly since her competition that year was lacklustre.
It’s unfortunate so much stock is put into winning an Oscar for an actor. When they get it right like they did with Kathy Bates, it’s always satisfying. But when they get it wrong they really get it wrong. Totally with you on Glenn Close for Fatal Attraction, and more recently Emma Stone won for LaLaLand while Rebecca Hall wasn’t even NOMINATED for Christine. The Oscars are a joke.
Kathy Bates was scary in Misery! One of the few most memorable female villains alongside Louise Fletcher's Ratched. I made a video about her too and her Oscar win on my channel!
Underrated? She won an Oscar for best actress for it! Every horror fan I know knows this role :-). If u meant her career I 100% agree. I am still in shock that her only truly memorable roles seem to be this, Dolores Claiborne, Fried Green Tomatoes, and maybe Titanic. I myself have never even heard of her other body of work. And American Horror Story too
