This is amazing! I was searching all night for a tutorial on exactly this and just when I was about to give up... Bam... your video appeared. Thank you very much! And yes, if you can do a video using "Zoom" and NDi, that would also be great. Plus, I didn't see you have a video on how to do the "nesting". That would be appreciated also. Thanks again!

The nesting is just basically adding a scene within a scene as a source like I did with the CAM scenes on the P/P scene.
Hello this video is very useful. And I want to know how to make 3 camera inputs in live screen in one time in obs without using multiview devices. Like a news channels.
ปีที่แล้ว
You would need three different input devices. Blackmagic and AJA make a four input SDI capture card.
Very nice and concise tutorial. I hadn't considered realtime playback of lower thirds from Premiere or AE. This would be useful if you have a live person to cue and playback your overlay at the appropriate time. But without any way to trigger playback, since it runs in a loop by itself or otherwise does not play, this isn't very useful. I'm looking for ways, perhaps with a macro, to trigger playback in Premiere or AE to activate the overlay and play it one time. If I find more info I'll post again.

are you using an Atem switcher to change scenes. That's what i am trying to do with the ATEM 4 M/E and a controller. change scenes with the atem on obs
Great help. Thank you. Maybe you can help with stupid question - I'm trying to use OBS as switcher with Magewell USB Capture connected to Sony A7sII. When I place USB device into Scene it uses Mic / Aux input on audio mixer. However, if I cut to another scene in program - the audio from USB source doesn't fade / cut out. I'm trying to cut from camera to video files (media source) and back to camera with talent on lavs. SO I simply want audio to follow video. Any ideas?

If you're using a capture card make sure it can pass audio sou you can get the sound from your camera mic. Some capture card need to be added both as a video capture device and audio capture device. You can get rid of the default Mic / Aux being present on all scenes by turning it off in the audio tab of the program settings. If you need the mic in any particular scene it can always be added back as an audio input capture.
@ sorry to bug again. Thanks for input. So I am using a Magewell capture device with HDMI from Sony A7sII. It works great. I setup as Video Capture Device and also setup as Audio Input Device in one Scene called Camera 1. I’m switching to a Scene with local video file using Media Source. When I switch from Camera 1 Scene to Video playback scene the audio from Sony Camera via Magewell input remains on Monitor and Program output. Shouldn’t it switch off or fade?

Great video!!! Very useful!! I have a channel called Pipoca Com Dendê, and now I do lives every week... do you have any tips to split the guest cameras in a more comfortable view then the meeting standard view?

Right now I'm always cropping the sides of my guests windows to get a portrait aspect as oppossed to landscape and make better use of screen space
Hi, very cool video. It helped me alot to understand OBS. Im really interested in sending video from a skype conference to OBS. Did you make english video about that topic? :)

How to make CAM 1 - CAM 2 scenes button?

Right click the empty space in the Scene list box and you'll get the option to toggle between list view and buttons view
Great Video.I noticed that you mentioned NDI is free however when I try to use it with my Panasonic CX10 it required a payment of 299.00 to activate it.Once I realize this was the case I did not attempt any of the other functions. Are you sure the plugin works without a subscription or one time fee?

NDI is an open source protocol. The OBS NDI Plug In as well as the NDI Tools (including the Adobe NDI plug-in) are free. There are certain companies like Mageweel that produce products that rely on NDI but are not free. If you're want to get an NDI feed out of any camera (wiht a clean outpu) look into getting a Spark IO from NewTek or a BirdDog.
@@DanDBC2 This is a multi cam question hope you can assist me. I have a challenge.I am using OBS to mix two HD Sources. I created the scenes and in the source view area for Cam one I am using the audio as the main feed. For Cam 2 I was able somehow to add the video and audio from cam 1 to the source view.By keeping the audio from cam 2 minimized I was able to maintain a good mix without the audio having that audio switch taking place.I am interested in having the audio from cam2 appear in the source view of cam 1 so that I could occasionally mix the audio from cam 2.Can you tell me how I can accomplish this task.In other words the audio mixer in the source view for cam 1 have both audio sources however the source view for Cam 1 only have the audio source for Cam 1.I would like to have both audio sources for the two scenes so that I can mix or mute which ever audio source I want to.
Great video, could use some refinement on the talking to remove the stutters, but I learned a ton from this. Linked it on twitter too so hopefully more people see it.

I shot this at 2:00 am, maybe that explains the stutter haha. But thanks for the feedback and the share!
damn, didn't know about that multiview option, thanks a lot
I wish TH-cam surfaced this last year for me. This is definitely helping me think of different ways to control things. Thank you.
Glad it helped. Scene nesting really unlocks the true power of OBS.
Super content and video explanation that is very hard to find for amateurs trying video production

absolutely amazing.
but I have a question, let's say I'm using this in obs, is it possible to make the output to decklink ?
Yes, you can. You can even output a transparency channel on a second output.
Can you apply a transtition when in "M/E" mode ?
Yes, you can add show/hide transitions to your sources on the nested scenes
thank you so much
