I got the Legion Go after 1 year of Steam Deck, and I must say after almost 3 months I never turned on the Steam Deck again. I setup the dual boot like I did on the Steam Deck, so now I have both Windows and Bazzite OS (an OS very similar to Steam OS), so basically now I have a Steam Deck with more power, bigger screen and detachable controllers but worse battery life, which does not matter to me because if I'm playing at home I am always close to a power outlet

Did you have the Steam Deck LCD or OLED?
Maybe you can answer my question... I just bought the LeGo and I am selling the Deck LCD but the only thing I have concerns of is battery life.. Which on Deck LCD was not great but it was acceptable... I wouldn't like it to be much worse... So I've think wondering: how much worst is battery life when using BazziteOS on LeGo compared to SD LCD?
Sorry for my bad english hehehe...
edit: now I realize the SD OLED was released on November 2023 and you've said you've had the SD for a year now so it must be de LCD. Sorry :p ...

It’s all preference tbh. If you want something easy where you don’t have to tinker with anything steam deck for sure. But if you don’t mind tinkering with settings then ally and legion go.

I got the steam deck oled on battery life alone. Plus it’s light and plays most games, drawbacks are not being able to play my pc xbox library. Plays PlayStation remote play beautifully once you set it up and the biggest thing is the Steam Deck community is huge and strong. Another big thing for me is to jump right into the game again after you put it to sleep. Might not be a big thing for some but as a dad and business owner who constantly is interrupted with their game time, it’s a huge feature,

Well done, excellent video. Like some of the other commenters. I sold my OG Steam Deck for the Legion Go and don't regret it at all. The screen size is a game changer for immersing yourself in a game on a hand held.
If you are planning to get a Steam Deck with the intention of dual booting, consider this... if you proficient enough to install windows you are definitely don't need the "console like" experience of the Steam Deck. Maybe I'm an outlier, but I think tinkering with the settings and optimizing specs is part of the fun.

I duel boot my Deck and say I hardly ever run windows because Steamos is more handheld friendly. The main plus is the OLED Deck is the closest to the Switch as a wireless handheld device. Nintendo is still the king of handhelds as they understand not to go overboard with power hungry hardware. All the other PC handhelds they are slapping the most powerful APU designed for laptops and mini-pc to date. Ally., claw and Go are more like mini-laptops that requires to be plugged in majority of the time to game.
( Even now it bugging me to update to Windows 11 when I'm happy with Windows 10 on the Deck.)

  • @upsidedownmachiatto2670

I went for the OLED because I would want to wait for at least 2nd or 3rd gen of these hand held pcs before I dive into the pricier stuff. I have a gaming pc so my deck is really for more of those JRPGs that take a lot of time to play on the go. It can even do Tekken 8 at 60fps at medium graphics on select stages. Works for me as I all do with it is ghost battles or practicing new characters anyway. Even played Days Gone to completion on the Deck.

Just got a steam deck oled.. SO FUN! haven’t wanted to play variety of games in sooo long!
Very light and the steam OS makes things easy. Also theres windows in it too.
Longevity is IMPORTANT! And the fact that legion go has detachable controllers.. things might get loose over time and who knows if it could snap off if you had a little accidental drop. Or rattles with time.
It looks beautiful! But wow steam deck surprised me!

Steam Deck is still the best. Valve opted in for performance over raw power and it shows. The games play very well on it's composition. I'm play Metro Exodus at 60fps off the bat. Any higher resolution would degrade the performance.

I've been a steam deck user for over a year and I've got the OLED model and love it. Bought the legion go recently and it's a beast. Being able to play the same games at a higher frame rate and higher resolution means everything to me. You definitely can't beat the ease of use of the steam deck but once you get your head round windows it's perfectly fine. The battery isn't great on the legion but it's game and power profile dependant. I usually use mine on power mains anyway as I play mostly at home. The only thing I don't like about the legion is the speakers but I usually use headphones anyway. But you can improve the legions speakers with a different sound program. I do like the steam deck OLED so I decided to keep it for emulation as its a beast for that. But as for PC games the legion is where its at for me.
