Some of these teachers were seriously tripping. That being said, I would just ask the students to leave -- if you don't want to be paying attention in class, why are you there in the first place? In my school, teachers just let students use the phones anyways. Coz it's their own results so if the students fail or not it doesn't matter to them coz they have already done their part by teaching and helping as much as possible as teachers. Whether you listen in lectures or not is up to yourself. Teachers are there to teach, plus your parents pay for the school fees, so you should listen instead of using your phone lol. Boring lessons or not doesn't give u the right to use your phone in class. It means disrespect. Though I understand the teacher's frustration, destroying the student's iPhone could be grounds for a lawsuit. Phones are by no means cheap, therefore the student (or their parents) could file a lawsuit against the teacher for that and press charges for vandalism. It'd be like if I brought my laptop to class and was typing on it during a lecture, then the teacher comes over and throws it on the ground. I would sue the teacher personally, forcing them to buy me a brand new one. I'd then sue the school because it happened on school property. When will people realize power trips usually don't end well?
