Xavier: Renegade Angel has quickly become one of my favourite shows of the 21st century. Its wit, unparalelled weirdness and extreme nature might turn some people away, but I think that it's a fantastic show.
This video is an analysis and review of the show that was so overlooked on release, it literally killed the entire PFFR team.

The punchline "Aw, man, I'll never sell these arrows." is actually amazingly subversive and hilarious.
Xavier has the most jokes per minute if any comedy and they are actually good. The final episode of season one is so great. Everything from the unique intro to the showdown

I love this show
"Stupidity is Xavier's main character trait" Yeah, I see it as, he's meant to satirize a form of Western spirituality that borrows from ancient non-Western traditions shallowly without respect or understanding of these ideas in their original cultural context. In other words, he's a jab at white surfer bros with dream catcher tattoos.
The fact that this show actually got Snoop Dogg as a guest to voice a pimp 😂

Xavier is like a player character in a tabletop game that's been so poorly specced, but he some somehow manages to avoid getting killed throughout the whole campaign, despite being completely useless and destructive. :D
The show is pure chaos, and I love it.
He's the ulitmate murder hobo. The DM cant yell at you if you are intentionally trying to help people but hoping for Nat 1's instead of 20's.

I watched all XRA episodes stone-cold sober, and it still felt like I was under the influence of either drugs, or hypnotism.
It's so crazy, I love it.
The only thing I felt Xavier was mocking was the amalgamation of mixed up religions concepts with no idea of what they're adopting as a moral guidance.
"If you weren't paying attention because you were stones and watching this at 2am, you would be absolutely baffled at how exactly this could've happened."
This is what I did last night. First season I understood fine but by the time season 2 started I was completely lost.

it's one of my very favourite moments of the show, but didn't seem relevant to my overall analysis. the line 'it's an uprising, we've got to suppress revolutionary movements' is one of the craziest bits of writing i've ever encountered though

XRA remains to be one of my top favorite shows of all time. I wish I can watch it for the first time again.

I love how by season 2 Xavier goes completely off the deep end and goes insane, making his speech and actions weirder

I was watching the episode about "Wind Monkeys" with my mom (wild sentance i know) and i came out of it saying it was about slvery and civil rights and her takeaway was more about animal abuse and animal rights
Who would have thought that the writers for this show were that brilliant.
The show is ugly, weird, and disturbing. But it doesn't do these things to just shitpost. I feel a lot of work went into making it offend your senses in the best of ways. To top it all off I enjoyed the humor and the various quotes that were a lot smarter than I thought they would be. Honestly it reminds me of cruelty squad the game.

The way I discovered the show made it even more bizarre for me. I got curious one day and decided to search "." on TH-cam, and was met with a 3 minute clip from the episode "Shakashuri Blowdown" with around 3 million views with a simple dot as the title. Needless to say, without context of the show, I was mindblown, and subsequently laughing my ass off. Eventually, I decided to watch the show, and was not disappointed. Shakashuri Blowdown is still my favorite episode, and XRA is still one of my favorite shows. Sadly, the original video I found is gone due to copyright, but its legacy remains :)
I was in middle school when i woke up in the middle of the night with this show on. Didn't understand a thing, but i thank its service for contributing to my messed up personality

this vid came out right around the time i revisited this show and watched all of it, weird! a friend showed me the first ep a few years ago. i thought it was funny, forgot about it after. before that, i'd see it on tv at night as a kid, and i thought it was... weird.
suffice it to say, none of those feelings went away this time, but i have a new appreciation for the satirical elements now LOL

@@chadnuts Ah, yes. A complex plot about 2 scientists who shove everyone into a simulation without them knowing and them trying to escape is clearly written by a toddler, ok. Bet you haven't seen more than the first episode.
Great vid! A couple things I'll point out:
3:19 - I've always interpreted the third eye on his crotch as conveying that the way folks (mostly white liberals) try to adopt eastern/otherwise non-western spirituality without fully understanding it, end up unwittingly making it a masturbatory practice - merely to please the self with no ability to truly provide help to others. I think Malmrose Projects address this in her video too.
13:12 - I always took the offensiveness of a lot of the jokes to be a reflection of just how damaging someone like Xavier is in the real world. Xavier fundamentally misunderstands the root of any and all societal evils, to the point of merely making them worse when he tries to "help." And on top of that, he completely lacks the self-awareness to realize what he's doing.
(and yes, I do realize I'm saying this with Xavier literally being my channel/comment thumbnail lol)

In one episode Xavier is trying to communicate with the spirit of the recently deceased founder of lotion, and later in that same episode Xavier and a neighborhood of people painted in gold pretending to be robots are having all out war with Muslim tourists turned into dinosaurs. That's how ridiculously hilarious this series is.

i disagree, i didn't overlook it at all i watched this about 10 times now
I like the video man, but it feels like you just skipped over the intro and just jumped right into. It felt a bit harder to get into it, but who am I to tell you how to structure your videos. Maybe just a little bit of side info, what is the series in general about, who made it, produced it, whioch network etc.
Again, it's really not bad, as others said, the rest of the video has a level of quality even bigger channels dont reach, but those are my two cents to round it off.
