DICE missed a huge opportunity of adding a suppressed variant of this revolver. The description of this revolver even mentions how this weapon was one of the few WW1 revolvers that could be suppressed.
I can see what you mean, although since enemies don't show up when firing unsuppressed weapons it would have little use in game.
@@RvBnerd618 The M1911 Silenced variant is a thing and the sound dampening is definitely useful in flanking scenarios. Plus, enemies don’t get the directional damage indicator while using a suppressed weapon. Not to mention the Enfield Silenced.
Finally the Nagant.. the weakest and coolest of the revolver's.

Xan Saibot No, it's actually really useful at mid range , that's where it shines, not so much at close distances cause of the reload. I would at least increase the reload speed for the individual round and up the damage from 40 to 45 to get that consistent 3 hit kill.

The only downside is the long ass reload
Nice video but just a little correction from a gun nut, 3:17, its increased velocity due to the gas-seal is not why suppressors can be attached. Suppressors stop gas from quickly exiting (the noise guns make are caused from the sudden pressure changes like a popped balloon). For most revolvers, a suppressor would be useless because there is a gap between the chamber and barrel means gas will just go out it. The gas seal means all the gas goes out the barrel so it can be effectively suppressed.
I have a Soviet made 1923 Nagant Revolver with the holster, it is in amazing condition but the reloading is terrible irl.
Good Execution I have a bunch of WWII guns and a mosin from WWI.
I can deal with the reload rates of the other revolvers without much of a problem. The Nagant revolvers tactical reload rate on the other hand makes their reload seem fast in comparison and it kills me (literally).

I loved it to begin with, it is hands down my favorite handgun ever, and I tried switching out for the mark VI for a steampunk adventure bit. Worst idea ever. I died until I switched back.

It’d be cool if playing as a squad leader would let you use the double-action officer’s model.
Despite it's name, this is probably the worst revolver I've ever used. It's faster fire rate and 7 round capacity both don't make up for it's 3 hit kill and it's long reloads. The Gasser M1870 is much better.
Or the bodeo if you are using the scout.

@@carlosplancarte2667 Unless you're a Morse code expert, the Peacekeeper is pretty much out of the question. It's the best of the revolvers but still takes ages to get.

You know what? It's been long coming as I should have written this note a long time ago. I immensely appreciate apreciate so much of you work . Your indepth breakdowns of Battlefield weapons, filled with subleties of each gun, make your reviews stand out as the best among other reviews on the platform, hands down.I can imagine what a great deal of time you should spend in order to summ up all the important details and on top of that to find some interesting authentic information about the real usage of the gun. TH-cam algorithms do work in mysterious ways promoting shallow shitty Battlefield videos but I hope one day you channel really takes off Thanks for your time and commitment ! PS. My grandpa has a Nagant revolver
I could say that the low point of this revolver is not even the damage, the reload speed kills this revolver.. Dice could give a boost to the reload speed as it takes 3 rounds to kill..but they wouldn't even care about secondaries at this point.
Yessssss I've been waiting for this. Loving using this alongside the Mondragon Sniper, its like a Mars Automatic available to all classes
Umm, no. The Mars Automatic has 11 rounds instead of 7, has a higher muzzle velocity. Both of them are 3 shot kills at close range and both have 200 RPM. What are the Nagant Revolvers advantages over the Mars Automatic other than the fact that its a universal sidearm?

I'm such a dumbass. I'm using this gun as my secondary for my medic class. The primary weapon I'm using? The Selbstlader 1906

Love your content but one small correction: at 3:30, you state that suppressors could be fitted to the Nagant revolver "due to its increased velocity." This is half true. The Nagant can indeed use a suppressor (unlike most revolvers) but it's because the gas seal system eliminates the cylinder gap aka the space between the cylinder and the barrel. On regular revolvers, this gap allows a lot of firing gas to escape before the suppressor comes into play, neutralizing the effectiveness of the suppression at the end of the barrel. On the Nagant, the forward motion of the cylinder on cocking takes this out of the equation and allows a suppressor to capture and suppress the escaping gas normally. Again, love the content, just a small thing.
Yeah, it was hard to explain all of that in one those little fact boxes, so I had to simplify it a bit so if wouldn't take up half the screen (and just to give watchers a quick understanding) 😁
That is true, except you want the ammunition to be subsonic when using a suppressor, as they can be damaged by using standard ammo because of the supersonic "crack"
@@ChaseBlackmoon most of the real engagements I've seen with suppressed weapons just use supersonic ammo as stealth isn't the goal but rather obscuring the origin of the fire. Plus cycling issues.

I feel so bad for the poor bastards who accidentally dropped the ejector rod on the ground and can't find it. For those who don't know, the ejector rod keeps this revolver's cylinder from falling out.

I love the reloading animation. It's literally faster to change the entire cylinder than replace the spent bullets with new ones.

Velocity wasn't what made the Nagant capable of being fitted with a suppressor, the gas seal preventing cylinder gap was. A suppressor is only useful if there's little noise escaping the gun outside of the muzzle, and on most revolvers that cylinder gap is a very large source of noise. You could technically suppress a Webley or a Colt for example, but it would be a waste of time and effort. However the Nagant would actually be quieter

This revolver is trash, a 3-hit kill at 199 RPM? You can certainly count me out. People like to compare it to the Mars Automatic, but the Mars has an 11 round capacity, compared to the 7 rounds this has. The Mars reloads all 11 shots instantly, whereas the Nagant has this stupidly long reload animation. The damage drops off at a greater distance than the Nagant. The Mars has a much quicker bullet velocity as well. This is just personal preference, but the Mars has much better iron sights than the Nagant. I find absolutely no reason to use this over just about any other sidearm (minus the Kolibri)

This gun would've been much more viable if it had a suppressed variant. Weapon stats don't matter as much if your enemy doesn't know where you're coming from.

It's like the soldier you play as enjoys watching every casing fall out of the cylinder and push a new round in as slowly as possible.

got one irl. (made 1945 in tula) battlefield1's depiction is fairly accurate. it's a weak round but it'll do it's job if you hit anything vital. it's a great pistol for 50-100 yard shots. it's like a mini bolt action that just so happens to be a revolver.
That's why I call it my "pocket rifle"
Anyone else notice the nagants hit detection is bad at best on xbone? Like you can be point blank aimed down sights and every shot will miss

The increased velocity of the bullet has nothing to do with why a suppressor is effective on this weapon. The real reason is because the gas seal prevents the loud boom of the gas expansion from the sides of the cylinder. You could put a suppressor on any revolver you wanted, but it would not effectively quiet the sound of firing a round, because it wouldn't slow the gas expansion from the sides of the cylinder. Other than that, good content.

Edit for clarification: I use the longer range medic weapons and need a fast killing weapon for close range. I like the mk6 because it feels the most reliable to me

Obrez is powerful enough to use as a primary weapon in my eyes, and using it as such I was able to gun down 38 people with it.
38 kills with your sidearm in one round, sign me up for your squad!
MaxCanine1 yeah, I was incredibly surprised to see in the stats tab that I'd gotten most kills with handguns and 38 at that... and I was mostly using support and the parabellum most of the time too!
Lazurkri lucky for you I wasn't there with my Auto Revolver, C96, No. 3 Revolver, P08, Gasser, or Repetierpistole lol. I score about 25-35 sidearm kills per game.... on Domination 👌seriously though, nice work, I haven't perfected the Obrez one shot technique myself yet.
I will always prefer the Mark VI and the No. 3 because they reload much faster

Btw your fact about it being one of the few that can use a suppressor is somewhat wrong. While it is one of the few revolvers that can, it’s not because of the velocity but because it creates a gas seal. Other revolvers have a gap in between the cylinders and the barrel which makes a suppressor pointless because some of the gas is flowing through the gap and creating a bang which is a problem a suppressor cannot solve

The problem with Kris' reviews is that he's too good with all the guns in the clips he uses. We can't gauge the problems of the gun due to him mowing down people with any weapon

Jaime Moyano With the nagant revolver, you have more upsides over other revolvers apart from the extra bullet. You have quicker muzzle velocity, higher damage at range, much,much more accurate.The other revolvers may kill quicker, but the Nagant revolver has a few tricks up its sleeve and due to the high dmg at range and fast muzzle velocity, it is a perfect secondary for a sniper that needs a finishing weapon that is capable at fighting in cqc, yet still being powerful and steady enough to be used at a distance

Jaime Moyano It's not meant to be a pseudo primary like the other revolvers or the Obrez. It's more like a finishing pistol like the Mars it emulates which also has a crappier time to kill but has properties that make it ideal for putting the last one or two shots on an enemy you couldn't finish with your primary.
