I have enjoyed all of the 100 miles or 160km in the PUMA DEVIATE NITRO ELITE 2. A perfect blend of comfortable upper, cushioned midsole, excellent outsole and value.
This is a shoe PUMA have sent to me for review but i am not being paid to make this video nor will my views be vetted by puma before you guys get to see it.
Has this one worked out for you so far in 2023 or are you planning to pick it up soon?

I've been exceptionally happy with my Puma shoes over the last two years or so. The Deviate hits a real sweet spot, balancing cushioning with responsiveness, comfort, exceptional wear, and an outsole that few other brands are able to come anywhere close to. And to cap it off, so to speak, I find the Deviate the best fitting shoe that I've perhaps ever run in.
Almost time for another pair to work its way into the rotation. Such a problem to have.

As you said, if you like a more traditional shoe but with new technology added, Puma is a great choice. One reason I enjoy my Puma shoes.

Recently purchased Nitro Elite 2 75 limited edition. Man! It's so comfortable in legs. Gives super confidence in walking & running even on asphalt road.
Cushion is quite balanced & I won't lie that it fits more comfortable at heel than Adidas Ultra boost & Nike Pegasus 40.
As I suffer from heel spur. Even my job require me to take lectures for about 6-7 hours per day by standing. So cushioning is very very important from my perspective.
Even I am using Skechers Go walk hyper arch which is very very good for brisk walk & normal running on treadmill.
So here Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 2 comes out with balanced features i.e. has all good features of Adidas ultraboost, Nike Pegasus 40/39 & Skechers Go Walk clubbed in single product.
Hats off to the R&D team of @Puma.

Excellent long term review Edd, unlike some ( 😜), I have used them in anger (well, very tired shuffling & not amused focus) in the 26.2 ,the 10k and plan to take them on the 'oldest half Marathon in the UK' next month. I can honestly say I like them very much. I do not have enough experiance racing in racing shoes to throw out any superlatives or BS. But from my limited experiance over the last 4 years they do a good job, the in foot feel is not overly cushy, they dont have a high bounce factor like the Saucony pro or the Rebellion pro and they do not tip you forward like the vapourfly they do their own thing (jack of all trades) and do it well.

You are probably the only reviewer on youtube that gives the deviate nitro elite lineup the love it deserves. Most reviewers will make a fuss about the 36mm stack height on the heel (us9 size) and how that is not on par with other racing shoes. I mean.. 36mm is tall enough, not everything has to be 40mm.
I am loving my deviate nitro elite v1 now. Yes, it may not be as aggressive or provide as much propulsion as its competitors, may not aid you with more speed, but that's exactly why I love it. It runs WITH me (quite hard to explain, really).
And of course, it's cheaper than other flagship racing shoes, plus big discount 😂.
But hey, for my level, I don't need the fastest most expensive shoes out there to shave off a few minutes. A fast light enjoyable running shoe is all I need ❤

I'm 240 miles in on the Puma Nitro Elite 1st version. Mine are scuffed pretty bad underneath from a local track I run on and that track always murders shoes. If you love your shoes, don't use them on this track. I plan to get another Puma super shoe because these have worked so well for me. My main complaint is the super thin tongue and the laces. No padding at all and definitely hurts and bites ya if you lace too tightly. Before I run, it usually takes me a few tries to nail the lacing down. But $75 brand new off eBay by the way of Northeast England. Can't beat it. I don't like that they added weight to the shoes. 6.5 or 6.7 etc is great. @@EDDBUD I just wanted to quickly drop by to thank you. I think I already covered enough distance in my newly aquired Puma's to assume I'm passed the honeymoon phase. I used to be sceptical about the benefits of carbon plated shoes for slow runners like myself, and since the DNE2's aren't even adverstised as top tier competition shoes, I was NOT expecting this kind of experience. The comfort and energy return are nothing short of phenomenal compared to my Hoka Mach 5's, which I'd still rank really high.
It's the best goldy locks balance between support/cushion/firmness/bounce/price/weight/grip/durability I ever had the pleasure of running in. It's the first time I had to go for a full size smaller than usual though, so that might be something to keep cautious about when ordering from a store that doesn't have the best return policy. They weight exactly the same in my size as the Mach 5's, and the Pumas DO come with an excellent grippy rubber outsole.
I suspect that the reviewers who find it too stiff and harsh for the marathon distance, also feel the same thing about the Hoka Mach 5, which got me through my marathon without any trouble. So maybe I'm just more into somewhat firmer ride than the average runner out there? Anway, thanks again for leading me towards the shoes that already helped my to a couple of PB's, I'll probably snag a second pair as soon as I find a nice discount somewhere.

They literally smoked all the other super-shoes (Endorphin Pro 2/Plus/3, Vaporfly v.1, Alphafly v.1... you name it!). Using my own "protocol" (5x1Km), they were 24 seconds faster!
Regrettably, after 100 miles, I've tested them again because I felt all the responsiveness suddenly faded away (as they were 5 sec slower per km).
Do you believe version 2 is better in terms of delivering performances for longer?
i.e. the Endorphin Pro 3 were 3.5 sec per km slower (after 100 miles), but they didn't leave my legs buttered after the workout. Unfortunately, I can't say the same thing about the Deviate Nitro Elite.
