Remember those flat silicone makeup sponges that were viral a few years back? I wonder if one of those would work? 🤔 I've got one that I tried to use for my makeup once and hated it but I put it with my nail supplies because I hate waste and thought I could use it for something eventually lol
@@Nails_By_Kimberlee yes girl. I have it my nail supplies also! Can't wait to try it for this. Also I use it for chrome buffing. Laying down cellophane glitter and paper. Also. Smoothing out glitter before encapsolating
This hack is so neat, ever since it popped up a few weeks ago I've been wearing french nails nonstop! A few things I've noticed: It definitely works better for me with gel paints versus gel polish. Or at the very least pick the most pigmented polish you can find. The angle that you use to press in the nail dictates the shape of the French nail. If you poke into it at a 90° angle you get a relatively wide, shallow line. With a flat angle you get a deeper smile line. You can also pull back the skin on your finger with your other fingers and press it into the stamper again to deepen and neaten up the sides. It doesn't work well on very short nails unfortunately. You'll just smear gel all over the skin. Sharp square or coffin nails will definitely mess the stamper up after a while. Honestly just use a cheap one for this hack. Or one that's already a bit old and needs replacing. It also works with acrylic paint if you are worried about getting gel on the skin. Especially good when doing shorter nails. ...and last but not least be patient with the pinky finger. Since it is the weakest finger and you need to press into the stamper it is the hardest to do. Stabilising it by awkwardly grabbing it between thumb and index finger helped me a bit.
I kept seeing this all over the place and I really debated it. And what you would call a klutz I didn’t think I could do it! Just to see you do it with no practice is great. Maybe I could actually accomplish this. Thank you so much!😍
Oh wow!!! I can’t believe how well it works!! That would probably cut like an HOUR off my French-tip painting time!!!!😱❤️ Now I just need to buy a stamper! 😆
You don't need to clean up if you use a peel off latex on the exposed skin. Simply Nailogical uses it all the time, especially when doing ombres with a sponge 😊
But if you cure gel polish without cleaning up first, it will cure as a solid piece between the nail and the skin. So when you peel the latex off, it will make a rough edge. I think you have to clean up first. Maybe with regular nail polish it would work, but not with gel polish.
This wouldn't be convenient at all with gel polish, first of all because gel polish never dries naturally so its way easier to clean than regular polish since It doesn't stock to the skin and puting peel of latex would justo be overcomplicating a really easy step
@@xMourningStar maybe you should change your comment? You're probably giving lots of people bad advice by telling them to use a peel off latex with gel polish.
Love you and your videos! Thank you for all you do, you have made a big difference in my “nail life” lol I have learned so much over the last few years just by watching you!
Yay! Your nails turned out beautifully 😍, and pretty dang fast! I love thin smile lines and this would work amazingly for that. I feel like it looks dainty and cute. When the color is "barely there", more people take a second glance and then ask to see your nails. It gives you the chance to guide them to your business😁 Thanks for trying this and making me want to give it a go😘🥰🖤
i think your stamper was fine after the entire process because your nails are almond shaped, and not pointy like coffin shape or stiletto 🤭 i think shapes like those would stab into the stamper when you push your nail into the polish and break it 🥴
Just a suggestion. 🤗 Try pushing your finger into the stamper and not gliding it across. It seems to work better that way, at least from what I've seen other people do. I haven't tried it myself yet because I couldn't afford the stamper, but now I can lol. They came out very pretty!
I've done this with regular polish and the trick is to come in at an angle onto the stamper not scooping up the polish. Go in at an angle and pull out at an angle will pull the polish evenly and will cover well.
@@Nailcou so that’s the trick! I noticed yours wasn’t bouncing back either ruining the design so with some practice I’m sure I will get it! Thank you for the reply and much love from New York 😊
I bought a stamping kit, and I don't know if I'm doing it wrong, or if it's the polish, but it isn't really picking up the stamp from the card. Do you know what I could be doing wrong? Thanks for everything. I love your videos.
you need a special polish for stamping and when you pick up the stamp make sure you are not pressing the stamper against the card but kinda roll it. idk if it makes sense. also make sure the card doesnt have any plastic on
@@jazbasile Thanks for the tips. I have every polish in the world, but stamp polish. Lol. I get the rolling. I took the plastic off. Ha. I need to look for polish.
I remember seeing this done with one of those silicone makeup sponges that were all over the internet a few years ago (and were terrible for makeup 😂) so I'll try that
I hate hand painting smile lines as well . I am more of a fan of a deep smile line I like that dramatic deep slender nail bed so everything looks really slim and elegant. It seems like even though you can’t quite get there with this method, it’s still totally worth trying. Specially for the time saved and energy saved. Your turned out really cute as always !
Your teeth look beautiful 😍 Love the color of your hair too. I noticed if you make the polish in a deep oval on the stamper you can get a deeper smile line. 🌺
The only thing I wonder about when using on clients is that it does touch the skin, but you can't use harsh chemicals to disinfect the stamper head. You can't see micro cuts in the silicone head. Yes you can wash and dry the stamper but that's far from being able to disinfect between clients since it's not a hard surface. It's not medical grade silicone. Thoughts on cleaning?
You can use liquid latex - apply it first and let dry. That way there won't be any contact with the skin at all! If a person is not allergic - it's ok in my opinion, but on the client I would use latex to not make it so messy :)
Your nails look great. I didn't have a stamper so I used a balloon and it worked too. 😁
Excellent choice, I'll bet the balloon is the better (and less spendy) tool for the job

💯💜😲😲😲😲😊 Why did the hack work? Because of the curved surface? Thos is such a short cut, thank you!

Does this only work with gel polish?
I think it works with gel and regular nail polish too
It works with acrylic paint too. So you don't have to worry about the gel getting on your skin or your clients

Charge a little extra and each client can have their own personal stamper for sets with French tips?
Nice 👍😊
Hopefully it will work on short & square
I've seen it done on short square nails.
I’ve watched a few videos on this technique, someone demonstrated gel polish, nail polish and acrylic paint. The acrylic paint worked best.
Nice to see your face! You’re so beautiful
Do you feel it’s safe to have so much gel on the skin?
You can use liquid latex - apply it first and let dry. That way there won't be any contact with the skin at all!
If a person is not allergic - it's ok in my opinion, but on the client I would use latex to not make it so messy :)
But what about square, coffin, and stiletto shapes??🤔
Oh, I didn’t think that would work. I thought it was just another ad, go figure.
Yeah, most nail hacks don't work very well, so I was skeptical too. But surprisingly this one worked!
Easy ? After a few tries, not so easy in the beginning. But looked good at the end
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
1 big problem with it is-it leaves horrible thick line of gel which is very annoying, and peels off easily :-(
You spend more time putting it on the Stamper and just actually doing it by hand and you don't waste as much gel polish
If you like it. I know it's giid
🦄🦄🦄🦄🌈🌈🌈🌈
I have 2 issues with this technique.
1. The waste of gel
2. Gel on the skin
No thanks. I'll do smile lines the old fashioned way!
I'm not a fan of this hack, so much uncured product touches the skin while you do it and increases the risk of developing an allergy.
Обсалютно бесполезно,потом все в бугорок
