Izzy C Democrats are always allowed to make ridiculous remarks and not defend their own views, Republicans are always forced to defend their views. This is especially true throughout the educational system which breeds that type of “we’re not going there” and “we’re not even going to have that discussion” shutdown on free speech that Democrats employ

The moderator did an awesome job. It’s not easy to mediate conversations between that many people with that many opposing viewpoints that are argued from an emotional standpoint. It could have easily just turned into a shouting match with nothing getting done but he directed the flow so well and also knew when it was time to move on.
This. This right here. They may not agree, but they are engaged and actually talking to each other. If this country has any hope at all, we must have more of this. A lot more.

Ok but can we give props to the moderator in this debate? He did an excellent job staying neutral in this video, I’m much more satisfied with his behavior with BOTH sides than the moderator in the Latino/Latina video!
I feel that was what made this video great, I was kinda skeptical going into this because it's a Vice thing, and they haven't necessarily been Pro-Trump, but the way this whole session was conducted was great and I loved every minute of it.

Well, not everybody. I felt so bad for the guy in the front row on the left. He acted like he had so much to say, but was to polite to raise his voice and shout anyone down. I'd really like to hear his story.
Oh I dunno. He let the conservatives speak. And those views might hurt some peoples feelings. Feelings are real. So those words must be violence. Therefore, the moderator just allowed violence by letting the conservatives speak.

I think it would be interesting to hear their answers to questions pertaining to election results, if voter/election fraud was effecting black areas, what a Biden presidency might look like for black communities, etc.

The interviewer was amazing. Maybe he should have been stronger at holding back some of the interruptions but it's hard because those were the most passionate bits. I have a low view of vice but this was amazing

He was a really good interviewer. He asked the questions clearly, let them answer and discuss those answers, calmed them down when it got too heated, and stayed silent for they can talk. He was so good

This was fascinating. I love panels that show Black people are capable of critically thinking in DIFFERENT directions and that we are NOT a monolith and that's part of the difficulty with the collective experience or the collective mobilization people wish we would do. We have to learn to be unified in disagreement for a single cause if we want to see all Blacks win, and that's the conversation that we forget to have when we are too busy pointing fingers with the "why do you think like that as a black person" mindset when we literally are NOT a monolith.
To be fair, the guy on the top left corner is a GREAT representative for the conservative side, and the guy on the top right corner is a GREAT representative for the liberal side. They are both intelligent and well aware of what they're speaking of, there has to be a video of just them two.
Honestly, and it was nice to see more of an individualist view point. I would have more morerdate speakers on issues because it was a very loud speaker of the echo each side comes from with few meeting in the middle or thoughful reflection
I can agree with that statement, it is wild, and it makes you wonder what causes that to develop in a person, is it nature or nurture, can we mold one or another in our children, or is it determined at birth, they definitely both have their advantages and disadvantages, if you are an individualist, you may be so into helping yourself you lack empathy or the ability to help or care to help others, but you can take responsibility for yourself and will most likely be more successful, on the other hand if you are a collectivist, than you lack the ability for any individual thought, which is dangerous because you follow the group, even if its over a cliff, however you definitely have safety in numbers, existential for sure, food for thought.

I despise VICE immensely because of their political bias in reporting. This however made me eat my words. Very impressed that both sides were LEGIT shown and one side wasn't cut up to make another look better or worse.
it's unbiased and it is not unbiased. you have a discussion group of half liberals and half conservatives, specifically conservatives that support trump. the polls show anywhere from 3-8 percent black support of trump, so it is semi biased in that it shows a larger percentage of support among the black community. trump has nearly no support among them, as it should be. he has done absolutely nothing for the country as a whole, much less the black communities.
I just happened to stumble upon this video, but I’m so happy I did. As a white conservative female, this discussion was incredibly enlightening to me, and I think it was enlightening to the members of this panel, as well. In my opinion, the panelists were well-selected in that they were intelligent and represented a variety of perspectives/priorities, and the host asked great questions. I thought they all gave thought-provoking responses to the questions asked, with the exception of the responses focused on reparations. The U.S. government cannot afford the time and effort to even determine who would qualify for reparation payments and in what amounts, much less afford the actual payments themselves.

Well she doesn't control editing. I only bring that up because I watched a similar video with a TH-camr and he received the same criticism. A video on his channel he explained he doesn't control editing for the other channel and they didn't include the majority of his takes. IDK if that happened to her though, but it could happen.

Good on vice for showing both sides to an argument. This is what a healthy society is built on - civil discourse. We need to get away from one sided media reporting (on both sides) and bring back the public forum! It's like a family talking about their issues together. We should start seeing our country as a family because we are all living in the same one!
Agreed with the healthy society being based on showing both sides but in politics it is never 2 sides and it is never a full discussion when it is only one race there are many sides and many races. What would be nice is to discuss politics as a whole instead of being racist and only letting one race put their opinion in. THIS type of dialogue can save journalism in the United States and could save this country from going down the pits. Fair, representative dialogue will expose bad ideas and elevate good ones!

They need to redo the latino segment but with a whole new group of ppl and an unbiased moderator like the one in this video. He also asked better questions period. This video was way better overall. I liked what everyone has to say and the way they said it, and at the end they still respected each other. Props to the black community.

One thing I will say, don’t mix emotions with politics. Politicians will play with your emotions to get your votes. Polictics should be looked at as to serve the betterment of our country.

The fact remains, she went from social welfare to a contributor because of the welfare system that kept her from going homeless. Even though I share some conservative views, I find most black conservative to be selfish, me me me, "I did this, and you can also do the same." The thing is, from an educational point of view, we are not equal and it really doesn't matter how hard some people try, there are barriers such as severe dyslexia that can stop you which others will never understand. In my opinion, it is unfair to always compare yourself and your achievements to others from your community, because just like you, maybe they are trying to change their lives but getting stopped by invisible barriers. For me, I love to think more about us, and I believe in loving each other, looking after each other, and just general kindness. I would never want to walk on anyone to get to my destination. I am a Christian man, and I really dislike the fact that black conservatives will try to convince you that it is wrong to vote for a party that supports abortion rights, because it's goes against our religious views, but at the same time they are happy to vote for a guy who is clearly not religious, a guy who is using Christianity for votes, a guy who committed adultery, bullied and make fun of the physically handicapped, and bragged about grabbing women by their private. That's not the kind of person I would vote for.

In the context of the show it was a clearly a cringe worthy joke not a racist remark. Charlemagne the God, (the person who interviewed) him didn’t have any sort of reaction that an African American would if they’d just heard a racist utterance. It was a dumb thing to say that has been taken out of context by some sources in the media. But I don’t believe that it was racist. Although I do agree that the unwarranted stigma of black people on the right is absurd and shows an unwillingness for important conversations in the black community

I do agree that there’s racism on both sides of the aisle, but you can’t ignore that over the course of the last forty years republicans have often been the ones to say and do things that could be described as racist. We are socially conservative because we hold family values and most of us follow Christianity... but to other policies such as healthcare and education we are liberal. And since there’s a good amount of racism from other people to our immigrant parents that we experienced first hand we aligned ourselves with Democratic Parties.

The moderator did an awesome job. It’s not easy to mediate conversations between that many people with that many opposing viewpoints that are argued from an emotional standpoint. It could have easily just turned into a shouting match with nothing getting done but he directed the flow so well and also knew when it was time to move on.

it's unbiased and it is not unbiased. you have a discussion group of half liberals and half conservatives, specifically conservatives that support trump. the polls show anywhere from 3-8 percent black support of trump, so it is semi biased in that it shows a larger percentage of support among the black community. trump has nearly no support among them, as it should be. he has done absolutely nothing for the country as a whole, much less the black communities.

I just happened to stumble upon this video, but I’m so happy I did. As a white conservative female, this discussion was incredibly enlightening to me, and I think it was enlightening to the members of this panel, as well. In my opinion, the panelists were well-selected in that they were intelligent and represented a variety of perspectives/priorities, and the host asked great questions. I thought they all gave thought-provoking responses to the questions asked, with the exception of the responses focused on reparations. The U.S. government cannot afford the time and effort to even determine who would qualify for reparation payments and in what amounts, much less afford the actual payments themselves.
The girl in the overall's neck must hurt after shaking her head the entire time but also not sharing any of her points of why they are wrong and why she disagrees with them.
The cognitive dissonance is so real with her.
Well she doesn't control editing. I only bring that up because I watched a similar video with a TH-camr and he received the same criticism. A video on his channel he explained he doesn't control editing for the other channel and they didn't include the majority of his takes. IDK if that happened to her though, but it could happen.

The fact remains, she went from social welfare to a contributor because of the welfare system that kept her from going homeless. The girl in the overalls saying “don’t even go there” when the conservative gay guy brings up that black people have the ability to move up... so explain why. She didn’t say anything. Didn’t even open the floor to conversation. With that mindset I guess not.
Even though I share some conservative views, I find most black conservative to be selfish, me me me, "I did this, and you can also do the same." The thing is, from an educational point of view, we are not equal and it really doesn't matter how hard some people try, there are barriers such as severe dyslexia that can stop you which others will never understand. In my opinion, it is unfair to always compare yourself and your achievements to others from your community, because just like you, maybe they are trying to change their lives but getting stopped by invisible barriers. For me, I love to think more about us, and I believe in loving each other, looking after each other, and just general kindness. I would never want to walk on anyone to get to my destination. I am a Christian man, and I really dislike the fact that black conservatives will try to convince you that it is wrong to vote for a party that supports abortion rights, because it's goes against our religious views, but at the same time they are happy to vote for a guy who is clearly not religious, a guy who is using Christianity for votes, a guy who committed adultery, bullied and make fun of the physically handicapped, and bragged about grabbing women by their private. That's not the kind of person I would vote for.

In the context of the show it was a clearly a cringe worthy joke not a racist remark. Charlemagne the God, (the person who interviewed) him didn’t have any sort of reaction that an African American would if they’d just heard a racist utterance. It was a dumb thing to say that has been taken out of context by some sources in the media. But I don’t believe that it was racist. Although I do agree that the unwarranted stigma of black people on the right is absurd and shows an unwillingness for important conversations in the black community

I do agree that there’s racism on both sides of the aisle, but you can’t ignore that over the course of the last forty years republicans have often been the ones to say and do things that could be described as racist. Again not to say that some democrats aren’t guilty, but it seems to more prevalent among Republicans

We are socially conservative because we hold family values and most of us follow Christianity... but to other policies such as healthcare and education we are liberal. And since there’s a good amount of racism from other people to our immigrant parents that we experienced first hand we aligned ourselves with Democratic Parties.
