- 1,The rom I installed in this video is a custom global rom. From official V9.2.3.0, disable OTA update. it can also support system update method . Only when you have unlock bootloader , can update without brick .
2,So recommend to reflash in china rom , and bind your mi account to the phone, this will be most recommended becuase any time if you have firmware problem. can reflash firmware via fastboot .

Recently there are a lot of mi 8 bricks because Xiaomi sold abroad
many device (before global model), and after that they bricked them
via OTA update. All the users needs authorised Xiaomi account to flash
via EDL , but Xiaomi did not authorised any of them. Maby there are
other ways. If you find out something please do a tutorial.

IF I have the global version of this phone is it possible to get bricked while updating official rom version? Do I need to unlock bootloader in case of a brick or am I safe to update the version without doing anything? Thanks!
if global version phone , that is safe to with global firmware on locked bootloader .

Esto es el colmo. compras en Aliexpress un movil y se te bloquea al actualizarlo. Luego te dice el vendedor de Aliexpress que no me preocupe, que abra el movil y le instales nueva ROM además de usar otros programas para vincular la cuenta Mi y poder desbloquearlo, tienes que esperar 15 días más para que te den permiso de desbloqueo y eso sin saber que puedes averiar o dañar el telefono. ¿QUE UN TELEFONO NUEVO TENGAS QUE HACER ESTO?.
It is quite annoy to do this and push this new policy . Never heard that samsung and apply will brick if install official global rom.

You have to install the china rom since bootloader is locked. Lock bootloader can not live with global rom.

i have unbrick my redmi 5 plus successfully but i can’t activate it i have installed my sim card and connected my phon to the internet but but a tusst message apear to say we can’t connect to the server or the device not connected to th internet

Thats cause you need to be quick making the test point, less that 15 seconds or it will not recognice your mobile

It is a customized rom from official V9.2.3.0. Miui Dev team at code to the official rom , which make the phone brick if bootloader is locekd. So if you have already brick . please reflash china rom.

The bootloop is caused with a new policy of xiaomi . China phone with global rom. 100% need unlocked bootloader. The is confirmed on Redmi 5, redmi 5 plus, redmi 5A, redmi note 5A.

you need to unlock bootloader before install any official global rom or global rom update patch .

En la versión global te hace el proceso y al final es cuando falla o durante el proceso falla por qué yo lo hice con la ROM global y lo hizo todo bn y al final me reinicio igual en el main menu

My 5 Plus Chinese version is still bricked after flash global stabe rom
The problem is bootloader. if you reflash global rom , on miflash tool must not choose the option flash_ALL and lock . that will lock bootloader again , then phone will brick . Since you have unlock bootloader before which mean your mi account still binded with the phone. So run unlock tool again . After unlock , it will boot up

Компьютер определил телефон и Мифлешь тоже определил. Выбрал прошивку (официальную китайскую с официального сайта) нажал прошить (flash) начинает прошивать, проходит 10 секунд и Мифлешь выдает ошибку В ЭКЗЕМПЛЯРЕ ОБЪЕКТА НЕ ЗАДАННА СЫЛКА НА ОБЪЕКТ

I don't recommend to install this customized global rom . the best is china rom then unlock bootloader then change to global rom . this is how it process better.
