In 1995 after having heard Celine Dion sing the song “River Deep Mountain High” on a late night television show, Phil Spector was moved to contact the management of Celine Dion with the offer to produce a few tracks for her next record album. An initial agreement was made between Spector, Ms. Dion’s husband and manager Rene and a representative of Sony Music who Dion was exclusively contracted to at the time. Several recording sessions did occur with pop music giants such as Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys attending these recording sessions which were held at Ocean Way Recording Studios in Hollywood, California.

The people on the show didn't want her to sing one of her ballads. Celine said " What do you want me to do?" Can you sing a rock n roll song?" "Sure, ok i'll do a rock n roll song!" Love Celine 😂 I've always loved the fact she always sings "like Tina loves to sing" ❤

The studio version of the song is also insane. You should react to one of the other Phil Spector track that was recorded at the same period Céline recorded her Falling into you album. It's a Ronettes cover titled Is this what I get for loving you.
And it’s still the best cover of the song. I kinda like it even more than the original
This is THE best performance of this. I have it on a promo VHS and am just completely spell bound by it every time. It became a regular track for her to perform live and got a bit tired after 1996 but no other performance was like the energy this had.
And yea Spector worked with her after this performance. The songs are online now too from the demos.
I so get all of that, this is so much energy! And that's hard to replicate, but I love how this was done and filmed. It gives all that it deserves
