I was seated back on a recliner couch, almost drifting asleep for the night...when WAM!! ....It's Celine, belting out the first few bars of this powerful, beautifully written song. I KNEW, at that moment, a star was born and success++ would follow her. And it did 🌟

I carried that tape around for years but eventually no longer had a VHS player, like most people. Fortunately, I found the clip on TH-cam many years ago. You mentioned all the reasons I love this video. Her STANCE, exactly. Her attitude in this particular performance was just great. And the "CBS Orchestra" did a great job also. I was glad you went back to that one run she did at the end of the bridge, because I've certainly reviewed it many dozens of times. My only complaint about this performance was that one of the backup singers was quite flat on the sustained note at the end of the chorus, both times. But otherwise it's just fantastic.

This is the TV performance that made the infamous but nonetheless legendary Phil Spector come out of his hiatus. He was madly impressed by Celine's soul right here. Too bad their collaboration didnt work out; he produced at least two songs with Celine, which unfortunately we'll never get to hear.

I think the reason people like this aren't discovered anymore is because singers now are too busy trying to be Celine or Mariah and it just sucks because they won't ever compare to them. The only way they can compare is by bringing something NEW to the table instead of just trying to copy old amazing talent.
From nowadays good singers you can listen to Jackie Evancho "Angel" 2011 from PBS concert. She's just perfect and amazing here, you will be huge impressed
