- Get ready for an unforgettable and hard-fought rugby battle in this week’s RugbyExpo video as we dive into Round 2 of the clash between the Aspen Gents and the Denver Water Dogs. This game was more than just a match; it was a fight for pride, momentum, and playoff hopes. Before we get into the action, I want to send a huge thank you to all of our viewers. Your support fuels our passion for rugby and keeps us motivated to share these moments with you.
In this video, you’ll witness the intensity of the Water Dogs’ last home match of the regular season, where every tackle, break, and turnover carried immense weight. The match started with a tough uphill battle for the Dogs, who found themselves pinned in their own half and down by two early tries. But everything changed when winger Juta Vakabuta broke free in the 21st minute for a much-needed try that ignited the team’s spirit and brought the crowd to life.
The video captures the physicality and drama of the match, including my own efforts as the Water Dogs’ fullback. From making crucial solo tackles to shutting down Aspen’s threatening breakaways, every moment was charged with energy. One of the pivotal moments came early in the second half when I was taken down with a clothesline tackle that should have seen harsher punishment than a yellow card. Just minutes later, another scuffle ensued when Aspen’s inside center swung at me after I forced a turnover, resulting in another yellow card for the visitors.
With Aspen down two men and the Water Dogs on the brink of a comeback, the tension was palpable. The Dogs pushed up to Aspen’s 5m line, only for an illegal tackle to dislodge the ball from 8-man Jacob Russell’s arms, stifling a crucial attacking opportunity. Despite the team’s relentless efforts, calls didn’t go our way, and Aspen managed to extend their lead after a penalty saw hooker Steve-O Flores sent to the sin bin.
Even with late-game opportunities and a final heroic run out of our own half, the score remained 28-14 in Aspen’s favor. The loss dropped us to third on the RMR ladder, making next week’s trip to Park City a must-win for our playoff dreams to stay alive.
But rugby is more than just the game-it’s the community, the resilience, and the fun that follows. After the match, the Water Dogs and Colorado Rush teammates came together for an epic Halloween Colfax bar crawl and scavenger hunt, tipping generously, buying shots for bartenders, and lifting the spirits of everyone they encountered.

The whole match was a nail biter. Two powerhouses getting after it as usual. Glad we could help with some film for the video! Keep up the great content!
Your tackles are improving. Like it
That fullback and winger running tough
talking to much makes your players confused tell them once what to do not 8times in row at a ruck
Tip: when you play 15 you need to let the fly half take control. That’s why the position is so hard, you have to tell everyone to get into order and the right position. If your fly half isn’t being loud then you have to replace them as they to need to be dominant, however not cocky and selfish. Other than that KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! ❤
Appreciate you watching brother! And I hear you with the advice!
Where do you play now?
@ fly half
Rugby expo is my life
4:30 no way you were off side, you were like 2 meters behind the kicker and behind the try line
ref needs to go to specsavers
When you play flyhalf you seem to be too shallow when taking the ball. This allows the defence to cut off your running and passing space. You need to be deeper to allow you to run into gaps also gives your players a chance to run into space. It also gives you a chance to run harder into contact and potentially break through a tackle
Shut up nerd.
Best 10s play flat, keeps the defence honest - just need to watch a proper game of rug to work that one out mate
15:22 the best thing to always do is to play it through the hands of the backs, its safer and a better option than making a very long pass. this is cus with a long pass the oppo have enough time to rush the player and give him no room. this is just my opinion you can take it with a grain of salt.
Mate your bang on - no need for opinions
As typical club rugby ref style one fight and they turn against u. This ref had a bais against u with those jackels but great game dude love the content as always
Damn Tyler out here playing in Colorado too
Yes he just moved to Denver actually
@ when are you coming to Portland ??
another banger !
Try to stay on your toes before tackles, allows you to slide when they step, instead of being planted.
love your videos keep it up dont stop
3 here, your scrums were a bit weak imho, flankers were looking for the run of the 8 a bit too much which was screwing up your 1 in particular. Your 3 looked okay, but he needs to learn a bit more of the dark arts as he was letting his 1 get the better of him too much. scrum @21:55 being perfect example of this.
Sick video I love these
What camera do you use to film the games mate…
now right !!!!!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
offside? WHAT?! how?
Tackling from the whole team is great when ran at straight on. Need to work on chop tackle from the side. Far too many arm grabbing allowing them to make metres
Just 1 or 2 clear calls is necessary
any1 know how he records these?
he puts a camera inside his scrum cap.
Probably a small camera around his neck or chest
Can not wate

Bro tackle lower. The make so much meters when u try to tackle them above the waist
