The main reason injuries in rugby are usually less severe is that from a young age there is soooooo much training on how to tackle properly and safely. A good few of the knockouts in this video are just from bad form in the tackle. I played as a kid and every session there was practice on safe tackling and how to avoid injuring other players. Also once you play for a few months, you stop feeling the hits and it just becomes normal
yeah. While these tackles do happen, they're pretty rare as most rugby players can successfully avoid them

It’s not the safety of the tackle it’s a game of “get the fuck used to it or quit” cause I’ve seen some absolute neck breakers when playing

Being from New Zealand it’s always interesting watching people from overseas reacting to rugby and talking about how rough it is. For us we were doing this shit to each other every day at school and every Saturday that I honestly never knew how rough of a sport it is.

Being from new Zealand and therefore a super mega ultra badman on badman tings we fought snakes and bears rugby style on the way to school then fought each other with the bones of the bear then rugby tackled our teachers all the way to hell and back so like only for Satan to send them back to rugby tackle us as an act of revenge, then we decided to invade the world by rugby tackling the whole of new Zealand so it merges into other continents then then invade via rugby fam, we're just built different and that's only Monday. Just me?? Lol.

From 8 years of experience playing Rugby, the hooker was normally the short stocky lad. So Ethan being a hooker make sense out of the front 3 forwards.
I’ve been playing for 7 and I think having Ethan as a hooker is a good choice

I’ve been playing for 7 years what happens is you get better a lot quicker than you think same with the impact you get used to it. The setback of playing is the concussion (I’ve been concussed 6 times playing it )and other injured but for the most part it’s really fun and I hope you gain the confidence to play it

That last clip (blue vs red) "TOU" VS "MON", the blue number 13 went up and apologized as soon as he could on the field, This is because blue 13 idolized the other player as he grew up and worshipped him as a hero. "This game is a hooligans game played by gentleman" (somewhere in the Invictus movie). Massive amount of respect and friendships between the players.

This Is Why I Love Playing Rugby
Rugby injuries....I played for about 35 years, I remember changing jobs once and having to complete a paper form for health insurance that asked for all injuries that required medical treatment (physio, GP, A&E etc) . I had to print it out small font and stick it in to get it all in, and this was 10 years before I retired.
They sent one of their nurse to see me in person to 'manage their risk', she read the list, looked at me and said "rugby player I assume".
One of the ones that had the potential to be the worst was on tour in Portugal, the local trauma centre suspected a depressed fracture of the skull and wanted to send me to the main hospital in Faro. I didn't feel too bad, so just got them to put in a few stitches (10-15 ish IIRC) and went to the bar, apart from a bit of bleeding and a f-ing massive headache for a while, plus not being able to tolerate bright light for a bit, I was fine....
Football: 90 mins of pretending your injured.
Rugby: 80 mins of pretending you aren't.
