@@rugbyexpomedia Comms is absolutely essential, especially in union as the phases go on. Structure breaks down, and forwards in particular don't have the energy left to think, just need telling what to do, and who to hit, when to pass etc.
Great game! Sounds like you’re playing without a mouthguard? Are the rules different in the US? I know it’s not illegal in the game to play without one but it’s standard practice amongst most clubs.
Make sure you're tackling safely. My primary thought every time is "Where's my head going?", get that right, and your shoulder must be right too. Focus at first on just getting those side/low tackles in, leave the big hits to others. Yes a dominant tackle is nice, but a made tackle is always good.
