It's really great how you started with a quick overview and then went into more detail afterwards for people who needed more information. That's a fantastic way to do a video like this!! ♥
Yeah...some people like a short explanation but others like the detail!! Thanks
Thank you!!! I finally found a video that is step by step and gave the perfect details.
My pleasure!
I know how to make shells, but I watched this anyway. Excellent tutorial. Great explanations and instruction!
SakuraEtsu2007 Thanks!!!
You are hands down THE best person for decorating tips. I love that you actually show us the tip instead of just saying the number! I don't buy Wilton tips, so the numbers are useless to me. I love it that you point out common problems, and telling us how to fix it. Thank you!
Thank you so much!
this is one of the most helpful cake tutorials I have ever seen. I was feeling a little rusty going into working on a commissioned cake, and this gave me confidence to get those shells perfect
I am glad it helped. This is the way I always had taught my students and they love it.
Thank you for this very helpful video, just what a beginner needs. Subscribed!
Glad it helps!
Thank you so much for giving such a detailed view of shell pattern... I'm beginner and your tutorial helps me alot 😊
Glad it helps!
Oh my goodness Thank you so much! I just started as a cake decorator and I was lifting my tip. So happy that I found you, you are an awesome teacher! Now on to my perfect shells! ❤
Have fun!
This is such a great tutorial! The details, arrows, and explanations are so helpful for people that cannot learn how to do this next to someone in person. Thanks, Edna!
I am glad you liked. Thanks!
The two cakes you showed at the end look pretty perfect to me! the shells look pretty!
Thank you!
Thank you so much for the tutorial. It is so detailed.
My pleasure!

malherlove I always get 1 hater every time I post a video. You can tell they are just hating..lol I am not bothered by it though. They still watching it!
You're back!!!!!
Mal B Yes! lol
Thank you 😊
Thank you for not being sloppy by teaching people to make zig zag shells. I cringe when I see "professional" cakes that have hastily piped zig zag shells
l have never been much of a fan of them but I have taught them to students. I remember growing up a lot of people would cover the cake in them from top to bottom. I think it's easy especially for those who can't ice a cake smoothly. My wedding cake was made using it and I was not happy about it..lol Many years ago!
now i know.... i have been lifting and they looked funny lol thank you...
Mario Garcia lol, you welcome!
You and your cake is so beautiful
Thank you so much!
спасибо большое умничка🌟
I already know how to make shells but they are always kinda sloppy, because I never ease up on the pressure between the shells enough. Thanks so much this really helped
Ur pretty woow Nice video
Love this tutorial. However, I would disagree with the assertion that the curve in row number three is "wrong". I prefer the curve as it gives depth to the shells which looks quite nice. I think the key is to be purposeful and consistent. If you want flatter ones do that and keep them that way throughout your designed and if you want curved ones, do that and keep it that way throughout your design.
I am teaching the techniques that are supposed to be taught but people will always have their preferences and that's ok too. ;)
Hi Edna, can I do little bit of buttercream piping on fondant cake?
I have done it!
Bom dia ! Maravilha adorei
I hate making buttercream frosting my taste like butter how can I get it to taste more like a frosting
There are many recipes out there for buttercream. Swiss and Italian buttercream is made with butter and tends to taste a bit too much like butter. I don't like the taste of just butter either. Then you Have crusting buttercream also known as American buttercream. This is the one I use because it's too hot where I live and other buttercreams tend to melt. Is a combination of high ratio vegetable shortening and butter. My customers like it but some people don't like the shortening. Other icings are good like Suspiro (made with egg whites) or Stabilized whipped cream, but they are less stable for wedding cakes. You will find that all of them have good and bad in them. It's a matter of choosing the one you like the most.
You're so beautiful, thank you :)
HayGurlHay Thank you!
this is the most difficult piping design for me to do idk why my brain cannot do it
Keep practicing. Some people take more practice to learn. Don't give up.
@@EdnaDelacruz haha i finally got it!! 😘
@@shelbyboury3874 yes!
This isn't a Linux shell...
I am not sure what you are looking for but this is a baking channel and this are piped shells. Maybe you need to look for that info on a computer channel.
