Amazing work! The only difference in adapting Mamiya press backs to the Polaroid 600SE mount, is the presence of two little metal teeths, so adapting the 3D model for the 600SE should not be difficult. I hope you will make a variant of the 3D model for the 600SE as I would love to use the conversion directly. I currently use 120 film backs through a Mamiya P adapter that allows Press backs to be mounted on the 600SE.
Thanks! Yeah I do plan to update the model to add the tabs for the 600SE. I just haven't got to it yet because I gotta unload some film before I can unscrew the tabs to get a close look at them. But I might just forgo that and measure things in place and just test until I find a combo that latches!
Good day, I just updated the files on Thingiverse, if you head to the link now you will see a new STL for the 600SE clips, took a few tries but I got it. I gave it a go on mine, looks like the fit is pretty good!
It's very useful information, thanks for sharing your experience. I bought almost the same adapter from LensMod, a famous guy who makes adapters by 3D printer for Mamiya RZ67, RB67, Press body for modern digital backs. I'm really enjoying this setup. It's a lot of fun. Based on your explanation, RollieFlex cannot adapt a digital back for the space between camera and digital back, right? Is there by any chance a way?
Given the way TLRs typically have their film spools arranged it would be very difficult to do a soft mod to fit a digital back. Usually in most TLRs I've used (mainly Mamiya and Yashica there isn't space to get the sensor aligned properly. In all cases. It would need to be offset which would make infinity focus impossible as well as throw off the the top lens. Now it's not an impossible mod, but it's going to be permanent, I was reading about a case where a person machined about 1/3 the back off the tlr and removed some mechanical coupling bits. But they were able to get the digital back seated exactly where the film would be. An alternative idea I had was to just custom build a TLR body to accommodate an existing TLR lens. That project is mainly conceptual at the moment though.
hi top mania mr 50 mm my this d back same 12 7 korea seoul camera shop leaf autus 22 model holding and my hasselblad 500 cm body first test and my press many collection body total 3 ea over but no adapter ha ha hi best you tube mania press style adapter how much ???
Thanks! Sounds like you have an awesome Mamiya Press collection. Unfortunately I don't have a Hasselblad Digital to modify the mount but I don't believe it is that difficult. From what I see the system is very similar with latching. If I do ever get one, I will likely make an adapter. But unfortunately at the moment I don't have one to reference. If you do find a M645 back though give my adapter a shot!
Mr 50mm not my kettle of fish but fascinating none the less. Trendsetting IMO.
Thanks! Haha maybe a small trend!
😍🤩Loved this!
Thanks!
Amazing project!!! Very well done and explained, congrats. And long live to Mamiya Press System!
Haha thanks! Long Live the Mamiya Press System indeed! I just picked up the 50mm lens for it and I'm having a blast using it with the digital back!
