The high cost of new vinyl has put me off, but I pick up nice copies of original pressings and they sound great. Good video. TCB!

So true what you said. I don't believe this mofi release will be the worth of such a money like 140 pounds. There's no way that it compares to original release neither. Giant crazyness cashing with die hard Elvis fans

Steve, like you probably do, I watch a lot of TH-cam channels where the fans (always male!) review and rave about every new release that comes on the market, and they "have to have it" because they want everything Elvis. Nothing wrong with that if you have the funds to indulge yourself and/or your partner (if there is one) is equally obsessed. It is all a matter of choice, but for a long time my opinion is that there are people making a lot of money from gullible fans who can't afford to buy everything and feel unhappy that they are missing out on something that other fans are enjoying. Especially newer fans who probably don't have the original vinyls, or even cassettes of Elvis music, which when it is all said and done, is all the average fan needs, one copy of every song that Elvis recorded, without the outtakes and remixes and whatever else the sound engineers can fiddle with to rake in some more dollars.
In some ways I can see the attraction of the extra stuff - my ex husband and I had a lot of bootlegs from Europe and the USA, two of which I kept and won't be parting with, as the tracks are not available (that I know of) anywhere else. I.e the full soundtrack of Viva Las Vegas with all of Ann-margret's songs as well as Elvis'.

Have to agree with you Steve. I am more than happy with my MOV and Friday Music releases of From Elvis In Memphis. No way would I fork out for the mofi release.

I’ve not even considered it nor the aloha,i would rather spend the money on finishing other collections that I’ve already started.
    Luv the show.

I agree with you on the cost of vinyl relative to what you’re getting. I only recently got back into vinyl a few years ago, as CDs had become “the thing” for me , as an 80s teenager. I just like the convenience and sound of a compact disc. I will continue to buy FTD vinyl and a few others here and there, but won’t obsess over it, especially newer vinyl and its associated costs.⚡️

Hey mate, what a brilliant thought provoking video! The sensible side of me agrees with you 100%, and the collectors side of me says what the heck, I can’t take it with me! But that’s Elvis collecting of 63 years for you! LOL, cheers my friend!

I agree Steve. I didn't bother with the new from Memphis. I would rather spend on original pressings. My original album sounds very good. To each h his own I guess. I probably will be getting the upcoming aloha vinyl. Thanks for sharing.

Tend to agree the officially licensed audio file releases we are just paying top money for a nice package and a remix. For me best value for money is the FTD double vinyl releases. Great packages and great sounding alternative albums. I have also been just as happy with the much lower cost Music On Vinyl - some sound fantastic without spending a fortune. Saying that I have collected pretty much all the 45 rpm expensive releases 😢.

    Hi Steve!
I totally and completely agree with your opinion. I can’t say more then that. You truly go straight to the point and that’s the way it should be.
    Cheers my friend! 🥂☺️🙏

Well said and well put over Steve 👏 👍🏻
I have been caught up in much of this ....buying new albums just because they are Elvis !
I actually played some of my original albums over the weekend that haven't seen the turn table in years ....and they sounded amazing to me !
The new Mofi album has no interest to me what so ever 😅
I played Back in Memphis tonight from 1970 ....cannot better the sound for my ears ....
    Good video 🥂

I agree with you Steve, the price gouging is overwhelming for some of us that enjoy the original that I gave around $5 back in the day. TCB brother ⚡️⚡️

Steve I agree with you, just don't see the need to spend all that money on something that I already have the original of. That's why I'm so glad i didn't get the FTD of MSG when I have the PRINCE FROM ANOTHER PLANET on RCA/Sony and LEGACY and I'm glad I didn't buy the FTD ALOHO FROM HAWAII so now I can preorder the ALOHO FROM HAWAII box set from RCA/Sony and LEGACY release which has more and is cheaper.

Hi Steve. I also prefer original vinyl pre-1978. But I did buy two of these at $125 each (one to open, one to keep sealed)…only because it’s my favorite Elvis album. I, like you, do not own a record player but do plan on it someday. I don’t expect a tremendous improvement in sound as I do not plan on having the best equipment-it’s not that important to me-but I do look forward to hearing it. I’ll only dish out good money for certain albums and this one was one I couldn’t pass up…as a collector and lover of the album. But you’ve made very valid points.

Interesting thoughts Steve. I understand that you don’t have a setup to enable you to play vinyl? I encourage you to spin a few of your audiophile albums when you are able, you may be surprised at how good they sound. I do agree that they are way over priced though. Have just discovered your channel and I’m really enjoying your videos 🤓

Hi Steve. I was really looking forward to the Mofi One-Step release of From Elvis in Memphis. My local store still awaits copies. As such, after hearing about defects from a few people coupled with the delay and time given to consider the price, like you I will forego getting it and prefer originals. Good systems do make a difference with an improved listening experience, but they also highlight imperfections more clearly. Enjoyed your thoughts. Cheers, Jeff

I'd like to listen to this release, but have to prioritise what I buy due to cost. I have just purchased the original 'From Elvis in Memphis' US album in lovely condition and it was £40 less expensive than this new version!! Having said that, the recent Boulevard set sounds absolutely phenomenal in the reviews, I do wish I'd bought that when first released😢. The Blue vinyl looks stunning too!

Just for the record, these release are WORTH getting ,and the people responsible for these releases deliver what they are promising ,that is for damn sure , i listen to it many times, it is great !! . I also have the originals, they are great too, and i love them, but that goes for the MOFI releases no less.
