yes i can i hear you
If I remember correctly Bob Dylan was bodyguarded by Lamar Fike when he recorded in Nashville. Bob Dylan's memoirs Chronicles vol 1 is an extremely good read. When he likes something he describes it so poetically and in a way that you would never think to describe something. Particularly when he describes New Orleans and recording there. In closing I will add that in the Rome 2001 interview this was the interview done during the time of the release of the great album Love and theft and the entire thing should be on TH-cam) Bob Dylan said "I never met Elvis... Well that's what I'm supposed to say" (paraphrasing)
Thanks, I didn’t know that👍
Hi there, can you do a video on how all those records were released while he was in Germany, I'm guessing having known he was army bound recording went into overdrive.
AS always you have a great video. You have an original copy LPM 1707. The release came out with liner notes stating "after 31 grueling takes a satisfactory master was made". RCA came out almost at the same time with the change, after several takes they made a master.I am talking about Hound Dog. First editions have light blue lettering no titles on the front catalog number on the right side. Back cover has just song titles listed horizontaly. Also Your King Creole LP is a first edtion US Stagered Stereo reprocessed 1962. Forgive my spelling.
Love these yearly videos! Cheers!
Very nice collection ⚡️⚡️
Excellent video!
Great video Steve. Is there anything you don’t have to complete this discography as we go on year by year ?
thanks John, I am pretty well covered but I’m sure there must be something. We will find out.
Hi Steve another great video, btw Hound Dog was not only the first to have a proper picture sleeve there were two versions, one has Hound Dog on top, the other has Don't Be Cruel on top, I have both in my collection, altough my copy has seen better days it is afterall a 58 year old piece of paper, the fact it's lasted this long is in it self nothing short of a miracle.
thanks. Yes, the Don’t be Cruel cover is on my list to obtain, problem is it is a long list!
Great video and collection again Steve. Enjoyed it as always
thanks Alexander
Hello my friend thank you for another nice informative video. ❤
thanks Tony
It amazes me that so much was released each year. Great collection and looking forward to the 1960s! TCB
thanks Mark
Thanks Steve as always another great video.
thanks Kerry
Great series ,very interesting ,thank's Steve👍
thanks David, there are some interesting Belgian singles with unique covers… how about a video?
@@tcbsince73 that would be great, I only started collecting singles recently and have only 1 Belgian "way down & pledging my love Would love to see whats out there
Gold standard singles started in 59. HOWEVER those sleeves are from approximately ‘64. The 59 issues were Dog on Top. But came in a yellow and black gold standard sleeve. Those sleeves you have are quite valuable
My best Homer Simpson “doh!” I even did a video about the different Gold Standard singles but totally forgot!
@@tcbsince73 yep it happens wheels get stuck in the mud
Beautiful collection, always nice to see these editions again.
thanks Rudy
What’s happened to the sound on your videos? There’s interference when you speak!
not sure what is different, I will look into it, thanks
your next live video ?
not sure, will arrange something and give plenty of notice.
Very Nice Steve 👌 Funnily enough I picked up a US 🇺🇸 1959 pressing of....For LP Fans Only last week ! In very impressive condition! Beautiful album .. £25 on ebay ....very happy to add it to my collection Cheers Steve 🎙🎶🥂
thanks Simon. Nice buy and great price.
It’s nice to see these LPs in great condition and with un-split bindings. Lovely video.
Thanks! 😊
Always nice to be reminded of all these great releases. Nice video series Steve
thanks Adam
Nice job, as always
thanks Gregory
Steve another great video! Nice collection. Best to you and family ❤
thanks Leonard
Hello Steve great records I bought the on fire in Toledo CD and the French e.p CD you showed in your live. TCB ❤.
thanks Harold, nice buys!
Very nice collection that illustrates the plethora of releases from all the way back to the beginning years.⚡️
thanks, it is a busy release schedule!
Great collection steve...I m a big follower of your site....I noticed that lots of young guys, black or white, called ELVIS ****That s my boy***Nobody called Michael Jackson, freddy Mercury.or any other singers ,****my boy****only ELVIS.. WHY ??????
thanks Annie. I wonder if it originates with the 68 Special? at one point the guys on the stage say “my boy, my boy” to Elvis. can’t think of any other origin.
Interesting stuff, thanks for sharing Steve 👍🏻
thanks Sean
Beautiful collection and the amount of releases is mind blowing. Luv the show.
thanks Mark, RCA certainly milked the fans from the very beginning
I have the original USA king creole pressing with a bonus photo of elvis in the army
nice one! I would love one but they rarely appear for sale
@@tcbsince73 I found it on eBay for £75 £32 postage

From Memphis to Austria is the rarer of the two promos from 1993
thanks, don’t think I’ve seen one for sale yet
Only just got round to watching this live chat , gutted i missed it but look forward to your next one, great chat as always. Luv the show.
thanks Mark
As long as you did not take a “haircut “ on your purchases 😂
never!
Great Releases from 1957...plus👌 Thank You Steve👍
thanks Harald.
Steve,It seems like every day, there is a new ELVIS tribute artist..and some are very young. They pop up like mushrooms from Japan, Thailand, India, Turkey,Brazil, Argentina, and so on and so forth...What is going on???? ELVIS is more popular now , than when HE was alive. Thank you for coming back to me...i value your input ..
Annie, I generally don’t like ETAs, they have done damage to Elvis’ image. There are a few who attempt to portray Elvis with dignity and respect and try to get it right. Shawn Klush is an example. But most are chasing their 15 minutes on social media. A cheap wig, sun glasses and a ridiculous outfit and they think a total lack of talent or ability won’t hold them back. Elvis is so iconic that he is an easy target.
I just want to add, because you plan to do another show on the 1958 releases, that I suggest mentioning the fact that there is an alternate take of “Lover Doll” on the first EP of “King Creole”, which omits the Jordanaires’ back up. The album version features the Jordanaires.
thanks for that
I love the EP, “Just For You” BECAUSE of “Is It So Strange”, a rather obscure, but outstanding song that Elvis sings so wonderfully! Fortunately, it was included on the album, “A Date With Elvis” in 1959.
Is it so strange has always been a favourite of mine since first hearing it on the Seperate Ways Camden.
Hi Steve! Truly enjoying your new series here! Great work my friend and hope you are doing well and recovering 😌☝️🙌🙏🙏. Sending positive energy and prays to you my good friend! Cheers ⚡️⚡️
thanks Josip, I was wondering what had happened to you, not seen anything for a while?
@@tcbsince73 thank you truly Steve! I have been quite busy these past few months and in process of finding a nee place to move and live. Truly anything more then bigger challenges in doing so then work itself . I am glad to at least see you all doing great and wonderful videos. Have posted a few shorts in past few days for all. 😊☝️👍🏻👍🏻😁 Prays and blessings always to you my good friend! 🙌🙏😌 TCB ⚡️⚡️😎
I really like this idea, look forward to 1958! TCB
I love to see what other Elvis fans have collected. I love the collection you have of the original Elvis records and sometimes I think back as an Elvis fan to the time when I bought those records.
thanks Rudy, it’s funny how just a record cover can holds strong memories.
Hello STEVE looking good buddy🤗. Just love ELVIS's 50's music my favorite era from ELVIS.
thanks Kerry, I can’t have a favourite, I feel guilty!
Steve, first Elvis record I bought was let's have a party..Went to buy it an my push bike, managed to get it near enough home when someone stepped off the pavement. Oh well I'll get my paper round money next week so will try again.Great memories ,thanks for Video
ouch! that must have been disappointing.
Wow, fantastic vintage records from your Elvis catalogue. Its really difficult to find all of these when I have opted not to buy online. 🙂
certainly more expensive buying online, far too much to choose from. But you have done well with your record hunting
@@tcbsince73 thanks Steve. I live in the most isolated city in the world (Perth, Australia) in 2014 I dreamed of owning a couple of Elvis records. I thought they were all destroyed and in land fill. I was wrong when I discovered my first record store in 2015 and found about 20 used Elvis records priced between $4 - $15. The addiction grew from that moment. 🙂
First time in a month i tuned in to see what your buying Steve, first i notice your looking & sounding better, the other if you'll indulge me is on the shelf i don't know if there cds or dvd you have the comeback, then to it's left live '69 then what are the three to the left of that take care. Yea i'd like you to through the years for the U.K '56-77 oh and one more thing one album on cd i can't find is elvis (fool) is it from 1973 it's bloody hard finding that & bloody expensive on ebay, do you know if it's out of print on cd.
thanks. The next two sets are From Elvis in Nashville and Back in Nashville. Cover the 1970 and 1971 sessions.
there are usually a few Fool cds on eBay.
Remember people still didn’t have record players the played 45 and 33. You are not old enough to have lived it. I did. You should put your sleeves I’m mylar that doesn’t break down. Been doing it since well I can’t remember and every picture sleeve has archive cardboard to keep it squared and stiff like an EP.
thanks Nick. basically I am too lazy to do try it. but I do need to sort out the more valuable discs and protect them better.
Great video and great collection as always. I just picked up a really nice copy of the 57 Christmas album ( loc 1035 ) , it wasn't cheap but what a beauty. Glad to see you looking well. Luv the show.
nice purchase. mine wasn’t cheap but so glad I got it.
Nice video Steve - makes a great series 👍
thanks Adam
Hello, sir
The hard release of Elvis In Hollywood is the one that has a gold foil sticker .
