It's not Marijuana, drugs, nor alcohol.. it's strictly the ability to honestly say you are not impaired to serve God at all times, or being ready to serve God at all times.

Most come to God physically but few spiritually, the majority are spiritually dead and will hear I never knew you because they are not born again and turned into a new creature! there is a way that Man thinks is right but in the end it leads to death! You do not believe in God because belief is an action verb and believing is doing! If you love God you will obey him and it says be sober! Your statement should be revised to I love sin and I love God, complete nonsense! Your body is a temple not a smoke shop! Does God want all his believers to get COPD are you incredibly stupid! If you love God you would hate everything of this world you do not love God!

When we are under this influence we advocate for satan will and not God.
When you speak of your weed smoking in relationship to Jesus, that is not the Holy Spirit, but Satan counterfeiting himself as an angel of light.

You know whats crazy.. I be thinking the same thing. But the part of this video that stuck out to me is when he said that when you have a spiritual encounter with a mind altering drug, its demons not angels. Everything else he said wasn’t validated for me but that part was. I was just telling someone that the only way to reach God is thru direct prayer. Not these crystals or rubbing vibrational bowls, tarot cards or even astrology. In a way to smoke weed to get closer to God is the same thing. I gotta humble myself and admit that this video at first seemed trash tbh lol until he said that. It’s obvious but it kept going over my head. Only thru prayer and his word. Now I can’t convince myself that weed is truly of God for a closer spiritual experience to him. One last thing tho, the Devil comes to deceive us.

Same here. Watching this while smoking. I feel ready though. I need to stop trying to numb the pain and seek his teaching through the pain. Just can't wait to leave this place. Not through suicide or anything like that. So ready for this World to fall away and all it's evil ways. I'm tired of right being wrong and wrong being right and people being wrong and strong. I hate how love feels here. People only use it to control and manipulate. I don't feel the warmth here and everyday it gets harder and harder. The spliff helps me to cope but I know I should be coping with Yeshua and his teachings. Keeping a sober mind. I plan to quit...but I'm about to stop planning and just stop. Just make the choice and stick with it. Pray for His help and guidance to keep me from it. We can do this! Sending you much love through your journey. (Hugs)

I have selective mutism. I've grown up in a christian family, I smoke it because it makes me feel comfortable (I have chronic anxiety) and never feel comfortable except when I smoke or sleep. In all my experiences, I have never felt like abandoning God or turning against him, if anything, I feel closer to him. When I hear that it puts you in a different state of mind, I can't help but be humored. Because all it does (for me) is calm my nerves and helps me not worry (which is a sin) thus, bringing me closer to God.

    • @AbB-nv2wk
      @AbB-nv2wk 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Kevin Smith. We cannot deny that smoking marijuana harms many peoples' lives, any substance which people use to become intoxicated will affect work, school and other aspects of life. When we are not sober we are diminishing our powers of reason and power over our lives. Opiates can kill pain, cocaine is an anesthetic, those medicinal properties do not in any way justify their recreational use or foolish behavior that results.

I think marijuana should be treated as a medicine. It helps with all kinds of ailments. It helps people undergoing chemo who are struggling with appetite, veterans who have ptsd from the war, and children with epilepsy. I don’t think it should be tossed aside. People have been using this drug for thousands of years and legalizing it will give people more freedom to explore options of the drug. It will keep people from having to go down dark alleyways just to score some bud. It’s not to say pot is completely harmless. Too much medicine is bad for the body. However there is not a single documented case where people have overdosed from the substance.

I've been through some rough patches with pot, and this in insight seems like a fairly simple logic, but when we want to do something of the devil, we always invent some reason why it should be done. He has the most seductive reasoning, and it is important to stay focused on the Word of God, as simple as you made it out to be. Thank you again, Godbless.

Marijuana messed with the way I thought of myself and god and kept me anxious and empty. And everyone I've known to smoke weed were not healthy either and never got better. And you can overdose and die from it. When your high. you can operate and function normally. You relax and are peaceful. You can never OD from it. And speak fine. I know because im an active user. And I also believe in God and try to follow his rules as best as I can.

John, I don't know if you read or respond to these comments, but I would appreciate it if you could. I am a Christian who does not use any form of mind altering drugs or alcohol, but I've seen fairly convincing evidence suggesting that Exodus 30:23 contains a likely mistranslation of the third ceremonial herb. The Septuagint Greek translated Kaneh Bosm as Calamus. To my understanding this is a mistranslation as kaneh bosm is at other points in the scripture referenced as a food source as well as fiber source to make clothing and cordage. Calamus can not be used in such a manner, suggesting an inconsistency, which suggests a mistranslation.
I think many people offer such arguments as a way of justifying their addiction, and I would hate to fuel that endeavor, but I'd also like to know the intent of our father.
Your deep research into and knowledge of the languages of the bible has been very helpful in my own studies, I thank you very much for that. I would really appreciate hearing your views on this subject. Thank you very much.

I am a Christian. Now here's my struggle... If anti depressants 'alter' my mind, and cannabis "alters" my mind, why is are my anti depressant drugs supposedly not a sin but cannabis is? I don't get it.
As far as the addictive quality is cannabis is concerned, if I would come off my anti depressants cold turkey cause major withdrawal symptoms. Please. Tell me what the difference is. With the logic of this video I am also sinning if I take a "mind altering' drug that counteracts my depression. And as far as cannabis causing damage to my body? Lol. Read the warnings on prescription drugs that could cause harm to our body. I have to have routine blood work to monitor if any damage has taken place because of the drugs I take. If I quit the drugs and turn to MJ for the same ailment, where is the sin? I just don't get it

I've been struggling with insomnia for years. I've taken pills but they don't get me to sleep, well... marihuana does, actually that's why I tried it out in first place, medicinal marijuana
there were times when I'd smoke a lot and to be honest & I didn't know what to think because on one side, I was thinking about my future, I was visualizing my dreams, I was thinking on ways to accomplish my goals & then I said to myself: I don't think this is wrong, it's giving me good thoughts & makes me sleep. Last time I was high at school & I simply understand what the whole class didn't get by the end of the period, I enjoyed so much that class & once again, positive effect
But on the other side, I was thinking of what people say about smoking marijuana, they see it so wrong & they haven't even tried it out they've just heard bad stories from criminals, & they think it you smoke you will end up living in the streets, become drug adict, ruin your life...
to be honest I don't think it's wrong but the abuse of it is not right
what do you think about smoking to sleep?

    What should the ministry do?
Teach God's truth. Warn your congregation that the war on marijuana is unchristian and must be ended. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, that you will be no priest to Me … for I desired mercy and not sacrifice. (Hosea 4:6, 6:6)
Remember: Every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused if it be received with thanksgiving…. If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine. (Paul: 1 Timothy 4:4-6)

Thank you very much for this video. I get extremely easily bored if I don't smoke, and I do things that I don't want to do (like playing video games or watch TV, for many many hours). When I smoke, I can focus on getting closer to God. It also helps me pray more deeply. It will be easier for me to pray now that I no longer need to doubt my choice to smoke cannabis. I will however continue to pray for a clean life. Grace to you all

The biggest problem that i have seen is that people rely to much on what others think rather than what God said. You are to have a personal relationship with God and God does not run a democracy, he did not ask anyone what they thought. If you are in pain and need it and God gives you the OK then that is between you and God not you and the neighbors. God said happy is he that condemneth not himself in that which he alloweth. And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith for whatsoever is not of faith is sin. What may be fine for one may not be fine for someone else but God will let you know if it is OK for you or not. There is too much condemning and not enough love thy neighbor going on in the world today. Ten commandments is a good place to start to see if you are right with God and remember even breaking his commandment in thought such as lust is still breaking his commandment.

The reference to drinking wine is a way of saying that you should not over do it. So drink below your limit and smoke below your limit. Or enjoy life but don't over do it. To say it the way you do means that a lot of things can be considered. Like salt, sugar, fats, caffeine. Can be considered something god wants you not to do. Because they can harm your body.

If it causes you to sin, I would not do it. This is why we should not become drunk, we become less likely to resist temptations. I often drink, there were times I have had more than I should have, forgive me Lord. I often smoke (pipe tobacco and marijuana), and at time have had more than I should have, Lord forgive me. I have at times eaten too much, Lord forgive me. In all these instances of indulging I was not always able to resist temptations, nor was I always able to give an account for the hope I have, I often became idle. If you choose to use, do it to the glory of God, if it cause you to sin it is not to the glory of God.
Also, remember it is not only to prevent yourself from sinning, but also for others, if what you are doing causes another to sin, you should not do it. Do not be a stumbling block for those of a weaker faith.
Romans 14:14 I know and am convinced by the Lord Jesus that there is nothing unclean of itself; but to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean. 15 Yet if your brother is grieved because of your food, you are no longer walking in love. Do not destroy with your food the one for whom Christ died. 16 Therefore do not let your good be spoken of as evil; 17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18 For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men.
19 Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another. 20 Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All things indeed are pure, but it is evil for the man who eats with offense. 21 It is good neither to eat meat nor drink wine nor do anything by which your brother stumbles or is offended or is made weak. 22 Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves. 23 But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin.
And remember all is permissible, but not all is beneficial.
1 Corinthians 10:23 All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify. 24 Let no one seek his own, but each one the other’s well-being.
1 Corinthians 10:31 Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 32 Give no offense, either to the Jews or to the Greeks or to the church of God, 33 just as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.
1 Corinthians 6:12 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. 13 Foods for the stomach and the stomach for foods, but God will destroy both it and them.
1 Corinthians 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
God bless, and peace to His.

How is someone sinning by indulging in a plant that was put here by God and has more uses than any other material on this planet. This plant was put here by him for a reason. Sure some people indulge heavily, but who's to say they don't have constant pain or whatever other ailment. The whole controversy around this plant was created by our hypocritical government who has fed you lies your entire life. This plant is a medicine whether you'd like to believe it or not. It can also be used as a cleaner bio fuel, it can be used for paper (the first two copies of the Declaration of Independence were written on hemp paper). It is actually the strongest fiber known to man, great for ropes and things of that nature. I smoke weed 24/7 and I am a fully functional tax paying citizen. I am soon to be a branch manager and the only Longshore adjuster on the west coast, all accomplished while smoking weed every day for the last 7 years. I've grown up in a Baptist church and my grandfather is a pastor. There is no doubt in my mind about God's existence, but I feel people have misinterpreted and overthought parts of the bible to create this belief that people are capable of not sinning. I feel the sin that actually matters and will be judged is evil sin, not something as dumb as this. If you're an honest and caring person, smoking weed is not going to condemn you.

    • @AnnymsVoice
      @AnnymsVoice 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

I never said you are sinning by indulging, I did say by indulging you may become susceptible to sin. God's creation is good, man's use of the creation is not always good. God created marriage does that mean if a man abuses it, the abuse is good. I am sure we both agree it is not. You do not need to convince me of the 'good' uses for marijuana, but you would need to convince me that man is not capable of abusing it. Apart from God men are incapable of not sinning. ALL SIN MATTERS, SIN IS SIN TO GOD, ALL SIN IS EVIL, God does not put degrees to sin as men do, hate is murder, if you are guilty of 1 sin you are guilty of all sin. Meaning lying is equal to murder according to God. Smoking weed does not condemn. Though smoking may lead to sin which is condemning. It sounds as if you read the first line from my post, and based your reply off of that. Try reading the entire post before commenting. More importantly rely on God's Word to justify one's actions instead of your own reasoning to justify one's actions.
Reason is the devil's whore - Martin Luther
Please remember your choices not only effect you but others as well.
We as Christians do not live for ourselves but for Christ and for our fellow Christian family.
I am not saying you can not smoke, and if you do you are condemned to hell, if I were to say that I would be wrong. I am saying we need to be mindful in our decisions, all decisions, keeping others in mind.
If you would have read my entire post you would have read.
1 Corinthians 10:23 All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify. 24 Let no one seek his own, but each one the other’s well-being.
And remember that we as Christians are commanded to give an account for the hope we have in Christ when ever we are asked, make sure when you smoke that you are able to give a testimony of this hope.
      May God bless you

I used to be a heavy drinker, an alcoholic and I can say that its the worst mistake I've made in my life, it opens up the doors of sin and addiction, even though it felt good for a moment, I wanted more and more. I couldn't control it. And the hangover was painful afterwards. I've tried weed + alcohol, and nope never again. However, when I first tried weed by itself I felt so high, relaxed, on a different level, it was a good feeling but I was afraid of it hence why I never touched it as much as alcohol which is legal by the way. At the end of the day, if its going to harm you, lead to sin and make you lose control, it will be best not to do it.

Is the "system" or government laws not saying what God has created ( Plants and every animal) is not "good" for us to use as food.
And since food is mentioned doesn't the scripture also say that it is not what goes in the mouth that defiles a person but what comes out of the mouth.

SO. yes I see why it would be a sin to be under the influence of alcohol because it makes humans do terrible things. But marijuana? iv honestly never heard of someone smoking too much cannabis and going home to beat there family. So, if marijuana does not cause us to sin while under the influence of it, then

Very good common sense advice sir and well put.
Many scholars agree that the "honeycomb" that Jonathan stuck his spear into and tasted was the resin from the drippings of the hemp forest that Sol's men went through. The order was given for no man to eat anything until after they has passed through the forest. Jonathan was enlightened.
Smoking anything is a sin to our health. You can cook and eat cannibis to relax but again in small amounts so as to keep your composure. (my opinion only and if you are self sufficent) You need nothing to connect to God spiritually but desire.
God wants us to use our common sense and do what ever is best for our bodies in order to be of service to him. We were told in Deut. 14:6 to buy what ever our soul lusteth for and eat or drink it in God's name but... one should use common sense.

That altered state is a manipulation of your senses creating a sense of peace but that is not God's presence because he doesn't not depend on a chemical for you to feel his presence. That weed could end up acting a a substitute and getting in the way of really being touched by God. Weed puts your mind in an altered state and practices like those have roots in witchcraft. Jesus Christ does not manipulate you but heals you and the reasons of sufferings of why you use weed to escape. Be careful. Read Gospel of John and Ask Yahweh God to show you the truth and reveal himself to you www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John+1&version=NIV You want the Holy Spirit to wash your sins away and fill you up, better than anything weed can offer. He wants you to depend on him not a chemical because unlike weed, he loves you back.

    5:56 You cover Ephesians 5-18
    Here's what the KJV says:
"And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;"
I take that as saying not to get drunk to the point in which you are excessively drunk, but be filled with the Spirit.
Proverbs 31: 6 specifically says: "Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish..." If merely becoming drunk were a sin as you suggest in your interpretation of Ephesians 5:18, I highly doubt the Bible would tell you to give someone strong drink right before their death if it were a sin as they may pass away before getting a chance to ask for forgiveness. In fact, it says "Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more". That sounds like a lot of drinking being allowed. Maybe Ephesians 5-18 is saying not to get excessively drunk, but get drunk nonetheless and be filled with the Spirit. I know many people are much happier when they drink a little but still retain their bodily control and are still conscious of right and wrong.

    • @hulk6164
      @hulk6164 5 ปีที่แล้ว

I agree that the Bible does not condemn but celebrates the use of alcohol without drunkenness, but prov 31 does not support that case, in fact it shows that people in significant leadership roles should be careful with alcohol.
"It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine,
or for rulers to take strong drink,
5 lest they drink and forget what has been decreed
and pervert the rights of all the afflicted.
6 Give strong drink to the one who is perishing,
      and wine to those in bitter distress;
7 let them drink and forget their poverty
and remember their misery no more."

I used to smoke weed a lot until I got convicted and lost interest - the same for alcohol. Everything is permissible but not beneficial. We have to ask ourselves, “Does this please God?” This is a hard argument amongst Christians, but we can read in between the lines of scripture that God is against it.

I really enjoyed this. I've never smoked weed but I always wanted to know what the bible says about it.

Comparing the use of alcohol to the use of marijuana is about as silly as the example of poison ivy. He mentioned that while under the influence of alcohol you couldn't reason properly, however in contrast, my experiences with marijuana. Even when a fair amount was used, I could always reason. I don't believe that feeling different is the sin in this case. Because whats wrong about feeling alternate to your day to day feelings? However, while I do understand that the things we do while under the

Thank you so much for this information John. I had my doubts about the subject, and I was very curious to know whether God approved of me using this herb. I want to share that I have stopped for some time now and I feel peace and love in my heart because I have decided to follow him and his word! Thank you and Blessings!

Would've preferred more use of the scripture rather than John's interpretation of a couple of selected passages. but Thank you nonetheless

I feel these are general assumptions on Bible verses. And alcohol has hurt many people. I don’t agree that drunkenness applies to weed.

So if you needed surgery and took hallucinogens to prevent pain is that a sin? Alteration in minds such as caffeine to keep you awake is not a sin? Weed helps more ppl then not. I do believe weed isn't for everyone but stating that it's a form of "drunkenness" is very contradictory to claim...

I want to preface this comment by admitting that by no means whatsoever, am I knowledgeable enough about God to attempt to interpret his word as I am only 17 years of age. This is merely a series of questions in which I am seeking interpreted, educated knowledge about. Coming out of this introduction, I have a series of disorders, some of which including:
Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, Insomnia, Never Hungry.
These are most of them but there may be a few more. I would like to say that these aren't excuses for utilizing marijuana, but more so reasons, because for an excuse I believe a person would have guilt or no that it was wrong. I have taken many different medications that have never helped much and some even made worse. Marijuana is the only natural medicine that actually helps and works. I am not saying that I only used it for medical purposes, as that was the main reason though, but I also enjoyed the feeling. As I was "intoxicated" or "influenced" by this medication, I felt a need to read, and to help others evermore so than I had while sober. I would drive to the gas station and see a homeless man, and buy him a bottle of water, or perhaps a coke. This being said, if we are not supposed to have our minds altered by substance, then what of the Holy Spirit. I cannot speak on behalf of other people, but only myself, yet when I feel the presence of the Holy Spirit, my mind is altered, I feel different, I'm more emotional, I may cry, I may smile, it is a difficult and complex feeling that I'm sure others are aware of, and it is not EXACTLY like the influence of marijuana. Yet both of them make me want to do good things and love one as my neighbor as I love myself. I would hope that in a world full of murder, mass shootings, rape, child and domestic battery, and many other terrible things, that maybe our God would understand for certain people it may help them to alter their mind before stepping out of their front door every morning terrified of getting shot up at a movie theater. (Not suggesting that they would operate a motor vehicle while influenced, just like I would not suggest operating a motor vehicle after having an emotional breakdown on Sunday morning). It's not for me to decide if what I have done was right or wrong in God's eye, but hopefully God may justify it as he loves unconditionally, and if I can be a better person because of marijuana's use.

One of the saddest resulting mindsets by individuals diagnosed with mental disorders is 'self fulfilling prophecy'.Potentially this can lead to the rationalization, 'I am crazy, therefore I can act crazy'. Not saying this is you, but that it is all too easy to give in and even give up. It is by faith that we overcome, but some people have what's called blind faith, and it can be directed on many things except the truth. In truth there is no darkness, ask yourself, is my conscience really clear and clean when I use pot? If I was sitting beside Jesus would I light up? I am not asking you to answer me, but pleading with you to answer yourself.

You are more profound than the majority of people's knowledge about God and marijuana... my story is just like yours... God knows our hearts and desires and I believe that His grace is sufficient for all... that means no exceptions.... Stay blessed!!!!

I’ve seen it work for others in a godly way, but for me it’s the opposite. For me reading the word and staying sober is best.
When I smoke marijuana I’m susceptible for fears and paranoia and bad ideas. Lack of judgement and willpower. Just my experience, take it from me who used to smoke everyday. I don’t condemn anyone who does though for some people it has the opposite effect.

Many people use it as a crutch. And I once did as well. I justified it in every way I knew how even though the Lord clearly spoke to me through His word, and me altering my judgement was not what He wanted. If we truly know Him we'll know the peace He provides, without needing any intoxicating plant that has been put under witchcraft post-fall of creation.
The Lord bless you... Stay in His word, and fast to break any addiction - if you truly seek and ask. In the name of Jesus Christ.
