This is valuable information for me. I do all the maintenance on my grandkids cars. At 77 years young I am going through another learning curve. Just learning how to navigate my scan tool has been a challenge in itself. It’s guys like you and Ivan,Eric O, Danner, just to name a few have given me the courage to take on a new chapter in my life. Bless you and thank you very much.
Thanks Mike for the tip! That code of misfire on startup can be other, more nasty things like a coolant leak into the combustion chamber, leaky fuel injector, etc. Fortunately this purge valve has that ruputation for being sticky, combined with your quick test and the vehicle is back on the road. Good One Mike!
Question can this trip a po171 code to lean bank one I’m guessing I have vac leak but can’t find one at all replaced O2 sensor and MAF sensor I also have purge valve code haven’t replaced it yet but will just wondering because I clear the code and it always comes back
I just had this code pop up, I looked in my Hayes repair manual and it doesn't even have that code description. Your info will save me time and money, thank you for the help.
Nice diagnosis & tips Mike! I like the new format. I actually am getting stronger and got to fix my first vehicle in 2 1/2 years Ford Exploder my son's wife car crank no start. Felt good & luckily it didn't require me to get on the ground. Keep up the good work!!
Great video! I love learning from you guys! My Amazon wish list keeps growing and growing with all the tools I keep finding lol. There must be a hundred different sets of connector pliers alone. I think they thought about every position, angle, long, short, etc, etc. You can probably fill a tool box with them all! Can you imagine it taking longer to find the perfect set of pliers then to just fight it with your hands lol.
Nice an easy one, I'm doing diag on a 2014 fusion 1.5 T stumble stall when hot and heat soaked. No codes, caught the high actual pressure go low once while desired stayed where it should be .Low fuel pressure desired and actual track each other fine when this happens. High pressure sensor or a bad solenoid in the high pressure fuel pump, Have to catch it again to try to figure it out. Intermittent problems are the BEST.
@@GoTechTraining Low pressure fuel sensor was reading incorrectly. Constant 4.873 volts causing the low fuel pressure pump to only output around 19. 8 psi. Not enough volume to supply the high pressure pump.
@@EarthaNell I went ahead and replaced the salenoid from the video, and the error stopped reproducing. It did throw another error about 2 days later but I just cleared it and it never came back.
I just had the same thing. I tested it and no suction. So I put it all back together and started it, and there’s no more check engine light. I guess I’ll wait and see if it comes back.🤷♂️
Would this issue also cause the rpm’s to fluctuate when between 0-2 rpm’s? It doesn’t happen above 2 rpm’s. Also, any suggestions for figuring out if the p1450 is the canister vs solenoid?
I loved the video! Quick question, is it safe to drive with a p1450 error code as normally would? If yes, for how long? If no, is it safe enough to drive to my mechanic? Thanks.
Is this related to Ford Recall# 18V735000 (CPV - 2012 to 2018) or possibly 19V515000? I'd rather have Ford do it for free. I have a friend's Focus that is getting horrible gas mileage and trying to help troubleshoot.
Yes, the code will not clear instantly unless you manual clear it with a scan tool. If the car is fixed it should clear after a few drive cycles, might take a week or so. ~Ryan
soo that green tab w/ the ears dropped in the car when i was popping it off. and i can’t find it 🥲 will definitely need to go get a replacement now lol but i hope it finds its way out of the car at some point
I have replaced this twice and for some reason I hear a vaccum being created a deep rumbling noise and after I whack the purge a couple times it works like normal First one was junk from Autozone, replaced it and this one doesn’t seem to be working right either

Hey Mike, thanks for watching man! I think the purge caused the misfire issue. Hasn't come back up since the fix :)

My 2017 Focus SEL threw a P1450, but I’m not feeling any vacuum from the salenoid- any ideas? Great vid! Thanks so much
What did the issue end up being? I read it can be the canister by the fuel tank.

the trouble code regarding the evap,is it not able to build vacuum or not able to bleed the vacuum ?

Just seeing if you guys are still making videos. Haven’t seen anything for a while.

Check the recalls on your vehicle. There are a couple of emssions recalls that are out depending on the year of your car.
My car had the same hard start problem but now it cranks very slowly and turn over, any suggestions?
I just got that same code and I’m loosing gas and car keeps jerking .what’s the name of the part
Hey Mcnill25, it's called a purge solenoid or a purge valve

I replaced my purge valve and it seemed to have improve gas mileage but the cel still on
Can that cause a po171 code too lean on bank one
What if it’s not that?
