I see so much of myself as a child in this little boy, these pictures break my heart😭 it can be really sad growing up as a type-B-personality, seeing all the extroverted kids make friends so easily. But he seems like such a kind soul, and will have a tight circle of very authentic, long-lasting friendships. And that is so much more valuable than just running with a large heard.
Oh man this happened to someone in elementary school. He invited the whole class to go to the local pizza place. It was the first time I was invited to go to a birthday party by a classmate so I was pretty pumped. So my family got a remote control truck for him as a gift and we took my younger cousin to the party. We showed up about 5-10 minutes late and he must of seen me through the window because he ran outside to greet us. When we walked in and went to the area, I noticed that no one showed up and it was just his parents. So my little cousin and this kid spent pretty much the entire time playing with the truck, oh well more pizza for us.
Poor kid I remember one time I had a sleepover and none of the girls I invited showed up. I even waited at the door in my pink bratz nightgown and sat on my Barbie pillow. I was so sad then I ended up in tears but my mom helped cheer me up by binge watching Barbie movies with me.
That poor kid. I have never forgotten my 13th birthday party where not one friend from school came. My parents had gone to a lot of trouble and we were quite poor back then. It was so embarrassing and I think my mum felt so bad that she got all the relatives to come around. When I went back to school they bullied me about it. I really hope that poor kid forgets the whole party.
@@annaelisavettavonnedozza9607 thank you for your kindness. Unfortunately my daughter (autistic) had the same trouble, so we quickly learnt to have her parties with her school class. Every year (except Covid) so that she can be surrounded by friends and no one misses out. Parents don’t mind because we don’t do presents. We deck the room out with balloons and decorations, have a dance competition, cupcakes and party bags. Being that her birthday is in December the teachers love it, because with the last week of school everyone does activities instead of schoolwork, so it fills time. She thinks it’s wonderful.
Sorry you experienced that, Warrior. It may seem insignificant to some, but something like that stays with you for life. The way you've described handling this situation with your daughter is highly commendable. I'm no expert, but I suspect you're a damn good dad. Best of luck!

This *SAME* thing happened to my daughter! Invited her whole class to a pizza and pool party. No one showed up. It was her 10th birthday in May. Broke my heart.
Not sure. My daughter is friends with everyone. We passed out flyer size invitations for the kids to take home the week before the party. I really don't know.
Years ago, my brothers friend had a birthday party at a public pool. His parents bought about 10 large pizzas and only my brother showed up. The parents asked if I could stay, which I did. I was only 6 but I felt so awful for him.
Yeeaa.i feel like the mom didn't put in the work ...ur saposed to call other moms and get RSVP...and I'm a 30 year old single duude..and even I wouldn't let this happen...
When I was a little girl my mother would RSVP to every birthday invite that I received. I would be there with a gift in hand, hair pressed and curled, wearing my best dress and shiny from 3 layers of body lotion. It would have been me and this little boy eating pizza together.
Exactly what I thought back when I was in elementary/middle school. I was always the quiet guy who had 7-10 friends in a class of 30. When I finally held a bp for my friends I was really suprised that all 15 people who were invited showed up

A similar case happened to me back when I was 15. I had invited some of my classmates from school to this party I was having at a certain place in my town. Unfortunately, on the day of the party none of them had shown up which made me feel bad. One of my classmates said they couldn't go because her parents wouldn't let her while another said he couldn't go because he had the flu. Either way though, that day was enough to make me question who my real friends were and if I even had any.
The same thing sorta happened to my hubby. When he was in elementary school, no one gave him a valentines present, but everyone else in the class got one. So, his teacher gave him tickets to a Seattle Mariners game. *What a sweet teacher!!!*
hahahaha I remember in 4th grade everyone got a valentine's day gift, even me, but guess what, my gift was a huge box that inside contained a tiny used and broken toy that came inside the kinder chocolate eggs, but without the chocolate lol ...it was the most disappointing gift I have ever received.
Heh in my school on valentines we would give the valentines to our teacher and then during the last period the teacher would give out the valentines back to those that they were adressed for. It was a huge deal because everyone was standing waiting to see if they gonna get the valentine from someone they liked. The teacher was Reading out loud the names of the kids that got the valentines. So yeah I really wanted to get one because I always wanted to have a boyfriend, but alas I never got any valentine. I was a quiet kid who didn't hang out with popular kids, I was bullied but still i hoped that someone would give me a valentine but nope. No actually i lied one time I got a "valentine" that was a joke. I knew it was a joke because my friend warned me that someone planned on giving me a fake valentine and then when I got it it was a messy piece of paper ripped out of the notebook with some stupid joke written on it :/ same thing happened once in high shool. Thats why I hate valentines XD
I remember in sixth grade I ran for class president and NOBODY voted for me! The only reason I got ONE vote was because I voted for myself. Everybody else voted for the other candidate. OUCH. When you’re an oddball in a small private school (sixth-grade graduating class of FIVE, a mix of grades 4-6 in the classroom), your social life is pretty much over!
He learned that everyone that calls themselves your friend isn't a friend. Hope he has many more happy birthdays to come Oh my thank you for the likes I've never gotten so many before thanks to you all
I find it more worrying how every so often parents see fit to go online, complain about a failed bday party, take a photo of their poor kid's miserable face and expect an invitation from the nearest fire house/police station/football stadium. Awful.
Age 30 and I've concluded this, so far--- friendship is a myth. Be your own person. Pussy=stud Friends=broken trust eventually Girlfriends/romantic partners = will always stab you in the back... and they know right where to stab to inflict the most pain
When my daughter was 7 we moved from the NE,in an area with a strong sense of community, to a town in FL with absolutely no community feel. She invited the entire class, and a few extra ppl, to her 8th birthday party. The day before the party, when I was waiting for her to leave school, I was talking to 1 of the other moms (who's children were in the grades ahead and behind my daughter) about the movie night that the school was having that night (night before the party). I mentioned we weren't going as my husband had to work and we only had 1 car. She offered to take us with them. At the movie night my daughter invited them to her party as well. They ended up being the ONLY ones to show for the party 😪 Thank God for them. It would have been nice if the other parents told me that they weren't going. I could have adjusted plans so my daughter wasn't waiting for others the whole time. To make matters worse, we had an icecream cake that we asked to have stored while we were bowling (yes she wanted a bowling party). When we went to get it when we were done, the employees had eaten it out of the fridge. 🤬 We ended up being reimbursed for the cake (not that it mattered to an 8 yr old). And we ended up being good friends with the family that showed up, including going to church with them and hanging out at least once a week. Untill we moved back to the NE a few months later. 5 years later that is still the most visibly depressed I ever saw her. She tried to keep a positive attitude, but I could see how much it hurt. Omg, by the time I finished typing, the tears were falling just thinking about it
That's life. Get her prepared and strong for a lot more disappointment. Unfortunately, having expectations of others is what leads to the most disappointment in life.
Sorry about your luck. It's crazy that they would just eat your cake like that. It really seems like the standard of professionalism in the workplace has seriously declined as of late. And I suspect that it'll keep getting worse. Back in the day it didn't matter how menial the job was, you took it seriously because jobs were hard to come by. And if you can't even take pride in your own work, how can you expect an employer to take you seriously?
Only do the right karmA without any expectations because you can only control actions not the outcomes so be happy for atleast you did the right best you could and god is everyones friend at all time just need to have faith and take his name
In 3rd or 4th grade someone in my class was having a birthday party at their house. They gave everyone invitations, but accidentally forgot about me. I was pretty sad, because at the time I thought she did it deliberately. She noticed I didn't get one and got out a piece of paper to make another one. I was the only person who ended up coming. It was super fun, they had a pool and everything, and I wish more people came.
When I was around his age no one in my class liked me. I remember one kid started talking to me and I thought he was my best (only) friend, until he had a birthday party and gave out invitations to everyone in class, except me. That stuck with me for a while.
This happened to my little brother on his 6th birthday too. Our mom rented out the local roller rink with tons of pizza and candy and invited his whole 1st grade class of like 30 kids, not a single one showed up, even ones who RSVPed. I did my best as his big sister to play with him and make him feel better, but it still stung. We were both pulled out of school and homeschooled after that, which I am so thankful for. I wish someone had done this for him. It changed him and made him a lot more unsure of himself and have trust issues when trying to reach out. We're both grown now and in our 20s, he's doing well and hardly even remembers those kids now, but our mom and I will never forget his heart broken face that day. Please be kind to one another, keep your word, you never know who you'll be impacting with your choices or a life you'll be changing for the better or worse.
Poor kid had been alone on his B-Day, the same sort of thing has happened to me. Most of my birthdays, my friends wouldn't come to my birthday due to them being "busy." It was sad, but at least I was able to have family by my side.
I don't let my kids go to classmates bday parties either. I dont know if they have that one creepy uncle & I'm not taking that chance. I'm sure most of the kids wanted to go but the parent's said no.
@@nialldean9791 There's pressure on kids and some parents to think they have to have classmates at their birthday parties, maybe he is really quiet and shy and his mam thought it would help having a class party to make new friends. My son is an introvert. He prefers to stay at home or go out in a small group, where my daughter loves parties and to go out and see her friends. So long as they're both happy that's all that matters.
I know what you mean. Like you can feel their pain and hurt. This just touched my heart and makes me want to cry. Some people can be so cruel and hurtful intentionally in or unintentionally.
That was me EVERY year! My birthday mostly falls on or around Mother's day, and each birthday party I had NO ONE- not even my own so called "friends" came. After a few birthdays we tried to move it after Mothers day so people wouldnt make up excuses, but that still didnt work. I was sad and my mom would always go all out for my birthdays. Yet everyone would always expect me to go to their birthdays which I did cuz theirs would come before mine. I regret going to theirs. Later I just decided to spend it at a nice restaurant with family..
There was a girl from my class, Ivonne, who was disabled (she was limping after complications that happened during her birth). She was bullied so hard she asked for home schooling (by that I mean that teachers from my school came to her house to teach her). Unfortunately, she also had intellectual disability so she was barely promoted year to year. She was fully aware that she is not liked in her class and that she is a bad student. She had a birthday party at one time and my mom talked me into coming. I'm happy I did, looking back. We had fun, played boardgames. No, we didn't become friends as she was still taught at home and also the fact that- well- she could be unpleasant while talking to other people. She was in pain and lashed at others. There is no way her mom could afford therapy at the time. I hope she is happy now. Her mother had a market stall, perhaps she found a trade of her own. I'm telling you all this is that we as adults should make sure that no child is alone on their birthday. I was taught compassion by my mother and I will not forget it.
I remembered something like this happened when I was in the 3rd grade. A girl invited all of our class and only me and the popular girl made it to her bday. It was a shame that no one else showed up. The 3 of us had a blast though. Those other kids missed out, it was really fun and I had a lot of extra goodies(with a new friend)
This was my entire childhood and I never got a sports team. Major props to all of the people out there who were the one kid going to the party. You made the difference.
I feel you same here I had lot's of friends in school. I now speak and hangout with 5 of them until this day. We've been friends since Junior High 24 Year's.
This happened to my autistic son 20 years ago. It was heartbreaking. And because he had never been invited to any parties he thought he could bring the party to him. It was really a sad day.
I remember in elementary school one of my friends was hosting a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese, thinking the party was later in the day I had a baseball game only to find out that the party ended by the time I got there. It turns out only 1 other person showed up to his party. I feel bad to this day.
At least you came to the party even if it was later, and you genuinely thought the time of the party was different, the others had no excuse, they're the horrible ones.
@@ivetacosta2870 This is the problem it's peer pressure, we think we HAVE to have big parties. If the parents just stuck to family parties, or taking their kid out to somewhere really special ,it would be better than this situation happening. In time their kid will find their real friends & then you invite those friends & only once you know that know that your kid really gets on well with them knowing that they'll turn up. I think that maybe someone more popular had a party too, so they went to them instead, or maybe the class doesn't really know eachother well enough yet, say like it was a new class where the kids had only just got together? We don't know the whole story. But yes it's weird

That sucks. Sorry 😞

This is why I never held a Birthday party. Just the anxiety of no one showing up after inviting all your friends. Can’t imagine what it feels like.

We don't even celebrate valentines at my school and that sounds horrible
What did you give her?
I remember in sixth grade I ran for class president and NOBODY voted for me! The only reason I got ONE vote was because I voted for myself. Everybody else voted for the other candidate. OUCH.
When you’re an oddball in a small private school (sixth-grade graduating class of FIVE, a mix of grades 4-6 in the classroom), your social life is pretty much over!

We ended up being reimbursed for the cake (not that it mattered to an 8 yr old).

I feel so bad for him. He must have felt so disregarded. However, t’s amazing what social media can do in situations like this. I’m glad it ended up okay.
Mom has no idea there would be no attendees? Why didn’t mom call around and confirm who was or wasn’t coming? Something is wrong with this story. Not sure exactly what, but something not right with mom.
@@MrJamberee Yeah the mom just rented a place and expected ppl to show up 😂
@@grandmastalin7796 Regardless, people have the right to choose whether to or not to attend say event, it's totally their decision to make! This is a democratic society!

That’s why I don’t do birthday parties. I take him where he wants to go with his cousins and they have fun b
so you don't do birthday parties out of fear that your kid isn't popular?
@@vaughnamir.6457 Bruh, shes just protecting her child.
vaughn amir. Imo you should spend your birthday with family not friends why would you want to celebrate the day you were born with people who aren’t related to you
I relate to this so much! My cousins were my first friends and ones that I could always count on and spend time with!! Love them to death!!
We do the same thing. My kids have heaps of cousins and we pick up one or two close friends to have birthday’s with.
"Okay Teddy. Make a sad face for mommy so we can get on TV!"
