Enabling DOE Regional Energy-Water Demonstrations Open Session Meeting

Water and energy are deeply connected. Most energy production requires water, and water utilities can make up to 30-40% of municipal energy consumption. The National Academies will explore these complex interconnections and recommend ways to support the Department of Energy’s research interests in Regional Energy-Water Demonstrations.
At this virtual meeting, the committee will hear from the Department of Energy’s Water Power Technologies Office on the study task, as well as from the Interagency RD&D Coordination Committee on the Nexus of Energy and Water for Sustainability.
