We have Creature Comforts, which has amazing production and packing quality. We would like it to be a little more complex, but it is good. I'm looking forward to trying this new one!
I feel like their issue with higher player counts can be mitigated through the selection of the plants that you choose to use. Some of them can result in huge swings, but some don't. It is clear that they haven't played with higher player counts enough to see which plants result in the issue they mention and which ones don't. When the right combination is found, their problem with it shouldn't be an issue. Perhaps someone can make a list of which plant combinations are best at each player count.
The big draw to this game is the amount of different plants and combinations you can play with. If the game didn’t work well with higher player counts with specific combinations, they would have mentioned that in the rules. If you go look on bgg many other people are saying the same thing
This was the first Kids Table Board game I thought looked like a prototype. It looks way too stripped down. Their weakest KS. Needed more development, better colors, better theme, and better rule book colors and layout. After so many years, with all do respect, Josh who does the interior booklet design and colors, sure, it might have a recognizable style, but I think it's time to grow. It's looking old, and doesn't have pop. It's really forgettable as a whole box. Total pass for me after one play. Glad I didn't back it years ago. All the other KTBG are better titles.
I hope you like the review!
