@@triplemoyagames4195 I mean, it was mostly a net gain for africans tbh, as for most of the world. I wouldn't apologise for colonialism mainly because i am not a colonist. I am a human being born after decolonization so I see no need to apologise for something I have not done. Some things people need to realise, there are no pure hearted investments, no one wants to put their money somewhere for the good of the people, knowing there will be no return. Colonialism was a net gain? The borders were construed in such a way as to weaken the nations, look at Nigeria for a clear example of this.
There's also history of Developed nations actively sabotaging African nations post colonialism. They have more to gain with the continent poor
thirdly, in Africa or other developing nations, carbon emissions are a symptom, not a problem. Most of the citizens literally cannot afford to be environmentally conscious

I suspect the European logic is even simpler: By giving northern Africa a marshal plan for green energy they can limit new greenhouse gases from entering the atmosphere (An explicit EU goal of which they seem very serious about). This would of course have the added benefit of creating a new big market for green technologies which the EU have to develop in order to reach their climate change goals. If it ends up working this way, it would be big for the EU. This might be a chess move similar to what the Americans did after ww2 where they turned Europe into their consumers via the marshal plan

The problem of Europe is that it does not want to work with Africa as a partner, but rather deals with it as a teacher with its pupil, and this is the reason why Africa has turned to other allies such as America or China.
Western leaders also do not stop supporting coups in countries that do not follow their whims, which led to the growth of Russia's influence in Africa by providing protection to some African leaders.

Africa has made more progress quickly in terms of infrastructure the last 10-15 years that decades prior. i understand China's motives but if your people need a road or a bridge, it doesn't matter who builds it. Occasionally they build an extra road as a sign of goodwill. Still, in the end you receive a road worth 10 million dollar, and China pulls out 500 million in resources. It's a short-term benefit, but a long-term serious loss. It only happens because apart from that 10 million dollar road, China also sends 5 million in bribes to the president and his friends.

Pick up your cross and follow Jesus! The world is quickly headed for destruction, and sooner or later you will have to sit at the judgement seat and give an account for your actions. Belief in messiah alone is not enough to grant you salvation - Matthew 7:21-23, John 3:3, John 3:36 (ESV is the best translation for John 3:36). Call on the name of Jesus and pray for Him to intervene in your life! - Revelation 3:20.
Contemplate how the Roman Empire fulfilled the role of the beast from the sea in Revelation 13. Revelation 17 confirms that it is in fact Rome. From this we can conclude that A) Jesus is the Son of God and can predict the future or make it happen, B) The world leaders/nations/governments etc have been conspiring together for the last 3000+ years going back to Babylon and before, C) History as we know it is fake. You don't really need to speculate once you start a relationship with God tho.
Can't get a response from God? Fasting can help increase your perception and prayer can help initiate events. God will ignore you if your prayer does not align with His purpose (James 4:3) or if you are approaching Him when "unclean" (Isaiah 1:15, Isaiah 59:2, Micah 3:4). Stop eating food sacrificed to idols (McDonald's, Wendy's etc) stop glorifying yourself on social media or making other images of yourself (Second Commandment), stop gossiping about other people, stop watching obscene content etc and you should get a response. Have a blessed day!

Plus SA has large mineral deposits allot of them untapped we control nearly half the world's gold and 90% of platinum with the ban on Russian minerals SA is once again a top contender for international investment especially for value adding industries that can tap these minerals as they are currently just raw minerals. 9th largest win prlducer. 3) A lot of these countries are overpopulated and/or got their domestic industries decimated by subsidized foreign crops to make them entirely dependent.
      4) I didn't call you out personally. The thought itself is narcissistic since Europeans view the world solely on their point of view without regard to the needs of others.

Another unspoken reason for European investment in Africa is that Europeans want to stem the tide of African immigration. If Africa is a little more prosperous, less people would theoretically choose to migrate.

they have never cared about that, the goal has always been to replace their working class with africans, all they care is to have total control over african nations and their governments because if that doesn't happen then they are really fucked because africans will surpass them, they will maintain the poor africans so they never surpass them just like the USA has done it with latinamerica, the african birth rates are probably going to fall down at a quick pace after this happens as well

France was the worst colonial power, with the exception of Belgium (which possessed the huge territory of Congo, despite having nowhere near the manpower and resources to manage such a large territory). Portugal did a poor job, also.
Today, I wouldn't trust ANY Western Power (Britain included) that tried to govern an African country. Perhaps they can provide certain services if requested, but otherwise, they should all stay out.

at least the chinese are willing to act as equal trade partners, building roads and railways
it's clear given that the eu is starting with north africa that they are not as willing as the chinese are to invest in africa's growth
not only that, the eu only wants to sell things that most of africa currently does not have much use for, while the chinese are building roads and infrastructure that africa can actually use and maintain by themselves.
eu wants to sell green energy and other expensive tech? really?

@@brendon1689 That is a very onesided view on this topic. I'm not going to defend the european reasons in africa, as neither you nor i know the motivations of the people in charge, but as far as i know at least in germany there are a lot of people who want to help und a few basic theories about how to do that are even subject in school.
The thing i can say pretty certainly, is that china does definitiv not have only african interests in mind. If want to know more i suggest watching trevor noahs video on how china is sort of colonializing africa again. And bevor you think, that he is a biased euopean, he's from south africa.

@@brendon1689 I don't quite agree with your statement, considering the conditions in the contracts offered by the PRC, bringing many states under the latter's debt-trap policy (mentioned in the video). Therefore, China is not willing to treat the participating countries as peers, but as consumers of their products, policy used by the west as well, with the US as biggest contributor.
Nobody does it because of pure solidarity and if you think that the PRC falls out of the spectrum, I am afraid that you are just naive.

Morocco is one of the best countries in Africa for safety, quality of life, average salaries and food security. However, there are still problems with corruption, politics and lower infrastructure investment compared to South Africa. In North Africa, Morocco is way more stable than Algeria, which is why the European Commission prefers Morocco.
