At 7:30 its not just a random soldier hiding behind the door. First i hadnt recognized it myself, but when the door was closed, the word spájz was revealed. And thats a famous scene from a famous hungarian film - a tizedes és a többiek , where the hungarian hide an injured russian soldiers in the choatic end of the war. And they never know wheter the german come back or the russians are coming, so they hide the russian in ths spájz - the food storage.
The fourth mini-statue is from an old Hungarian movie. "Corporal and the others". The inscription "Spájz" on the door means pantry. Some of the Russians hide in the pantry while the Germans arrive. The German officer sends the soldier in to bring more food, then he sees the Russians and goes back to the officer and tells him, Sir, the Russians are already in the pantry! :) th-cam.com/video/M1AcKTFDCQM/w-d-xo.html One of my best movie
Loved your video and we haven't been back to Budapest since 2016. I have cousins & friends that live in Budapest and also in other towns in Magyarország. (Hungary) I'm Hoping and praying, at 77, that I can get the chance to visit one more time before I meet my Grandparents, Mother & Father and just about all my Aunt's & Uncle's! My Grqndparents came to America from Hungary in the early 1900's.
Definitely one of the best travel vlogs about Budapest. I'm a local and when anyone asks me what is the best thing to do here I always tell theme either to just get lost in the city or do the Kolodko scavanger hunt. But there are lot of different hidden gems around the city that is a very good adventure but noone knows about them sometimes not even a local. Btw every little Kolodko statue has a little story or a take on hungarian popculture. If you are interested I can fill you in. Again congrats for the video you just earned a new subscriber ;)
As a Hungarian I love Budapest however I highly recommend if you have the time to visit Lilafured. It is a 3 hour train ride (so worth it because you see the country side and little pockets of towns or a 2.5 hour drive from Budapest. It has a stalactite cave, a beautiful waterfall and some beautiful nature trails. When I visit I always go there.
Thanks so much guys! Love Epidemic, the best way to create a VIBE! 🤘🏽Safe travels, looks like you had a blast in Spain, we’ll have to catch up on those vids! How was the paella? 🤤
You think little sculptures are cute? You must visit the Polish city of Wrocław. It's full of tiny sculptures of dwarfs. 😉 In all possible versions and varieties. 😄
I went to Budapest in the summer and completely fell in love with it! It's such a great city. Next time you're there you have to try this place called Hungarikum Bisztró, it's on the pest side, not too far from where you boarded the boat. It had the best langos amongst other food and If I could I'd literally fly back just to eat there. Another great video 💙🫶
Be careful, Hungary not equal to Budapest at all...and ... I do not know where are you from, but as a Hungarian I can tell you, NOT, it is definitely not so nice here, as you wathcing this cut video of the most beautiful places in the capital city, it is a tourist layer, but in the deep there are a lot of lies. Nowadays our country pushing towards a kind of autocracy and lost the leader act in central Europe, even you should check in any statistix, in the last few years becoming the most poor country with lots of poor people who are forced to leave the centre parts of Budapest...and our prime minister lives in the palace...these facts give a compressed impression about the thruth behind the scenes ✌️
@@888bgkyou disgusting loser had to come here and try ruin this nice video. Making inappropriate political statements with full of lies and leftist propaganda. Go move out of Hungary if you don’t like it here and spread your garbage narrative someplace else.
Loved your video thank you. Can you give me the link to the sculpture map please as I’m going back to Budapest next October! Thanks cheers from Australia
#8 is a Trabant - one peace of the Socialism...a little, cheap, east german car, made of paper, textile and plastic garbage(called duroplast). They ware very popular in Hungary from the seventies till the begining of the 90's, when the Hungarian political system changed, and the russian subjection was over.
I keft Canada and live in Budapest now for 3 years it’s fortunate I’m a dual can/hungarian citizen
