UNDERRATED ARTISTS ARE ALWAYS THE BEST WHATT
Haha dude if you don't want to draw hair then don't! I do the same thing where I focus on just one thing. Hair in particular is some reason effin hard for me so I'll draw an egg then draw hair on top of it to develop that skill. Eventually I'll put it together. And then I do the same thing as you when I do head sketches- just kinda indicate the hair but not put a lot of detail in it. Besides, it's your sketchbook. You can do whatever you want, however you want. Also - I totally get what you mean about the blendy stump!! Love seeing you upload videos 😊
Omg thank you I feel seen! 💗 yes I totally agree I think going forward I'll just focus on the hair when I feel like that's what I want to do, and when I want to practice faces, I'll just do faces! It helps to stay un frustrated when practicing haha 😄 thank you for watching 😊
And for those people who take offence at using an eraser - seriously?! Just deal with it. And if you can't bring yourself to using one, then don't. If you want to erase and start over, than do. Phew. I feel much better now.
Hahahah I agree it totally ok to use an eraser 😄
The animation looks great!!!!!! 😊
Omg thank you so much I really appreciate that 💗
im just going through some of your videos and you must do more portraits!! its so refreshing to see someone stylize a portrait rather than hyper realism, kind of similar to Chris hongs art. you are both great illustrators! :D
Thank you so much that means alot to me 😊
You are so silly!!! I have that same ugly stump. 🤣. Love love this!
Hahahahhaha thanks!!
😍😍😍
I really love these sketch pages! You're completely right about warming up by the end of the session. Keep these coming. I'm binge watching all your videos. ❤❤❤
Aw Thank you so much!!
5:10 noooo, you MUST draw the hair, lol. But seriously, I can see why it would be intimidating or frustrating to capture hair while doing studies. It's one of those things that can make or break a drawing.
I would suggest coupling these graphite sketches with Greyscale alcohol markers. That way, you can build up voluminous shapes quickly, but gradually and then go back over it with fine pencil strokes for strays and flyaways.
If you want to stick with graphite, maybe try using woodless drawing pencils, maybe from 4b onward to cover large areas fast. You can also use shavings from them in conjuction with/smudged directly onto your blending stump if you don't need to be very precise.
Other than that, please do continue these! I'm new to making vids myself and your channel has definitely been a great source of inspiration for me to learn from.
Great set of portrait sketches with a good variety of facial structure and features 😀
Thank you so much!!😄
