Also, I agree about doing things that feel hard. I'm not necessarily trying to get rich or famous off my art. But, what if I have a dream or something amazing happens and I want to capture it? I NEED to be able to do that. The goal is to be able to portray any and everything suitably enough that I feel OK with it. Edit. P.S. one if my first "on screen" crushes was Hugh Laurie. He was my second My first was obviously David Bowie (specifically the version of him from "The Labyrinth"

I love the little doll! I'm definitely going to rewatch and try this! Have you tried Prismacolor Col-Erase pencils? I'm on my first set of them and so far so good. I don't have the confidence to use something non erasable just yet. Lol

I had brain fog for about 6 months after a health issue when I was 25 and it was the scariest time of my life! I was so fucking happy when it finally cleared up - I just noticed one day I was singing along with the radio and I was like omg, I feel almost normal! I hope you're feeling clear of it soon 💝💝

Oh I would absolutely love to see you do the 100 heads challenge! Portraits are my favorite things to draw! A few things that I picked up (that is hopefully helpful to you) is to draw all the weird wonkiness of the face as you actually see it, don’t correct it to what you think it should be if that makes sense. Letting go of having “correct” proportions or structure has helped make things feel much more alive. Everyone’s face is “off” in some way and pushing that element can really bring the wow factor. Another tip is to draw it in a non erasable medium. (It’s not as scary as it sounds! I promise!) I like starting with a highlighter or marker to rough things in, then bring in more detail with a pen. It was hands down the biggest thing that helped my improvement. It feels scary at first, but it forces you to really slow down and focus on what you’re looking at. It helps build confidence in your lines/strokes, makes you pick the most essential features you want to capture, and eventually becomes a very fun way to just play. Because now it’s not a “serious” drawing. It’s a playful sketch, a game. My last tip is to draw your favorite celebrities if you want to refine capturing a likeness. You’ll notice the little features of their face much more than a model you’ve never seen before. Don’t be nervous about doing portraits! You’re an extremely talented and well skilled artist! You already have a very strong understanding of dynamic shapes and beautiful line work. (Which is a big part in making interesting portraits!) You’ll absolutely nail it! ❤❤❤

My favorite part of your commentary is always when you crack up laughing. Your wheezy laugh is so great! I love it so much. This doll is so creepy it’s almost come back into the cute range. I think the way you drew it made it cuter than if the actual doll just happened to appear in my house one day. Especially since those eyes look like the ones that are always looking at you, no matter where you are.😂

Oh my gosh, so cute! Yeah, I guess it would be called a still life? But it is a sneaky way to do a portrait and a figure! Lol I have really been obsessed with these Mars Lumograph pencils… Don’t know if that’s how you spell it… And it’s left me really wondering if there’s ever such a thing as a colored pencil that you can smudge like graphite!! I think that would be awesome! :-) Yes, I did draw along with you, but I didn’t draw the little doll… I was filling a sketchbook spread with some faces ironically!
