    Thank you Dr Boz, John and Jen. I have trouble sleeping and then staying asleep. I have to listen to podcasts as the silence keeps my brain racing. Whilst I’ve lost 30 pounds on Keto my sleep is the same. Looking forward to Johns next sleep chapter. Keep up the great series of consults... love your work :)

    Dr. Boz, you are so awesome! Thank you for your kind heart and all your wonderful explanations. I've had a couple of starts with keto and IF over the last 3 months and finally feel like I'm getting into a good groove. Your videos are really helping me get to the next level which is just what I've been looking for. I'm one of those night owls and at 51 figured that was just the way I am but I've always admitted that when I go camping, I DO indeed get sleepy at nightfall (around 9pm) so I know I have it in me to go to bed earlier if I will just turn off the computer at night. What you said in this video about how you end up getting an additional glucose spike when you skip breakfast really made an impression on me. That may be just what I needed to hear to be open to trying to get to bed earlier and skip lunch or dinner instead of breakfast. Thank you! And, I'm excited to buy and read your book. Heading over to Amazon right now!

    Thanks Dr Boz. It's taken three and a half months to arrive at Keto adjustment. Before keto I knew I needed to stop my suger addiction to start to mend my mind after a traumatic event in my life. I've noticed in increments improvements in my short term memory. I'm 71 years old and live in AZ. There are many other improvements to numerous to list. I've passed your book on to my brother who has suffered from PTSD after serving two terms in Vietnam. Sincerely JC.

      I'm 64 and been doing Keto since 9/17/18. I've lost 30 lbs, am off diabetic meds, thinking clearly, walking like I'm in my 40's and looking forward to losing another 30! So many recovery tools can be applied to this keto journey. Clean your home of all non-keto foods, even the raisins. Give it to someone who can use it and you won't be tempted one night when you are restless. Plan ahead for social situations. Stay away from people and places that may trigger you to go off keto. Learn new habits like cooking real food, watching TH-cam videos, and reading keto stuff (like Dr. Boz's book). Shut the trap doors by telling everyone you are now in a keto lifestyle. Keep you wallet in the car trunk so you don't go in the drive thru. Try a grocery shopping delivery service if you are triggered by stores. Look to what has kept you sober and use that as a path to healthy eating. Keep it simple, one day at a time, let go and let God. Peace to you, sister!

    • @hfortenberry
      @hfortenberry 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can do it. Just go slowly. It's natural to have some blips along the way so go easy on yourself if you have a few false starts (many of us do) and just take it one day (or one week) at a time. Baby steps. And just stick with it. Be persistent. It really feels so good once you get past the keto flu and your occasional falls off the keto wagon and really get going consistently. I wish you all the best.

      @@marygallagher7062 So true Mary, it takes a while to get all your new habits in place, learning how to cook differently, how to really read labels properly, how to avoid things that will tempt you, etc. You just to get back up and keep trying. Watching TH-cam videos like this are a great way to keep learning and stay motivated until you get the hang of it.

    Dear Dr Boz, in the past months I’ve watched most of your videos and bought your book. We’ve bought a blood meter for ketones and glucose, and all of this info and the tools have given me all the support I need to do keto properly. I have enjoyed the info you’ve provided immensely and I believe (and have experienced) in the enormous benefits - hormone balance, relief from anxiety, improved sleep, weight loss, strong focus and concentration, and more. I tried to make it work with wine and/or hard alcohol, and like you predicted, it did not work. But for anyone else struggling, it gets much easier to live without alcohol because the feeling of being in consistent keto is much much more relaxing than a drink or 2 (which is the main reason most people drink anyway).
    Dr Boz, my concern still lies with the studies done on High North indigenous populations, who ate almost exclusively meat and fat, and evidence of disease in their bodies, strokes in these populations, and shortened life expectancy - although they had good lipid profiles. It worries and concerns me despite all of these positive benefits people are experiencing. If you could give me any clarity on this drawback I would appreciate it enormously. Lots of love from Vancouver BC Canada 🇨🇦😘

    I'm back cause YOu are my favorite Dr. To go to on KETO. I pray your week this week will be not so stressful. I love Keto and am going into my 5 week. I'm 71 and have had no IBS problems until today. I ate a burger with cheese and cooked Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, and asparagus leftovers I had steamed, but had a craving for cottage cheese. A half hour later I got the runs and don't know why unless it was the 4 sugars in the cottage cheese. Hmmm... Don't know. Trying to lose 30 pounds as I am 5'q" and was 175 T start so I'd like to go to 145 or 150. I keep listening and put comments on your video yesterday where you had the Kumbacha jars in background. I used to make that years ago. Love you and look forward to all the videos. Haven't been able to afford the keytosis/glucose monitor yet but use keto iron strips, hoping they are reliable.God Bless. One thing is I have a very hard time sleeping for about a year now.

    1) Can you tell if you are in autophagy without the blood tests?
    2) I’m in week 5 and have lost 12 lbs in total. This week I went down 0.2 lbs but 2% body fat. Does that mean I am in autophagy and maybe producing growth hormone?

    I’ve been fat adapted for 2 years now. For the past 3 months My carb intake has been about 20 carbs per day. No added sugar. Recently I’ve been feeling really cold. I just can’t get warm. I’ve been feeling shaky ....pretty much a constant state of mild anxiety. I started feeling so bad I went to the hospital. Nothing Wong they said. They told me to eat more carbs so I did and all the symptoms went away. Forgot to mention I was unable to sleep more than a couple hours straight. I came home from the hospital and ate 1/2 a chocolate bar and immediately all those symptoms, that I best explain as a constant state of mild anxiety started to go away. That was a week ago and many carbs later and I feel normal again. I didn’t realize how bad I actually felt until now and how good I feel. It’s was like my brain was shutting down. Please help.

    Jennifer is a good ghost, you can hear that she is really used to manage shows, I think they both could learn from each other (Dr boz ansdJennifer) Jennifer can learn about the ketogenic diet and doctor Boz could learn to be more confident in herself to speak to an audience

      I think Dr Boz is very confident in speaking to an audience, and loves sharing her knowledge - an excellent teacher, with many year’s experience. Her lack of confidence lies in managing the technology involved in making the consult videos. In some of the earlier ones where she is alone she is fine.

    Im having trouble watching this super long videos... The consult videos are too long, I think short to the point is better. But thanks for them.
